  8. Havent been here for a while... thought I would throw a couple up... Monaco Ibiza
  9. For on track shots become good friends with the shuter priority setting on your camera and start with 1/160 while following the car (panning). Then work from there experimenting with different speeds.
  10. You wnat to shoot cars as in static photoshoot sort of stuff or action on the track shots? Two VERY different things...
  11. Thats a cool catch PSI086...
  12. May have to grab that beer before hand, I really need to be back in Perth for Sunday morning as there's a race meeting I should attend at barbs. I fly in to Sydney tuesday though
  13. Havent been to any other permanant tracks in Australia other then whats in WA... Looking forward to doing Superlap, should be good for something different
  14. 1/30th is a good speed if you get it right isnt it... Nice shots. The green Ktek porka shot of mine above (Karl Reindler) was 1/30th as well
  15. For the record, the lens I use for all this stuff does not have IS, would be really handy for these shots if it did... On overcast days it’s easy to get them down that low as there isn’t too much light to begin with, on sunny days a polarizer does the job, I like using one a lot of the time as it removes reflections on the windows and lets you see the driver and inside the car. Lowest ISO possible as well, for me its ISO 50 As far as angles, yes, I pan on those angles when I want to, I almost never rotate shots in software. When dealing with over 1000 shots from a race meet its best to get as much done in camera then to slowly deal with it later in software...
  16. A few more recent shots: Barbagallo Albany Windfarm
  17. That technique can work very well but needs to be done in the right place with the right backgound/foreground and for it to be effective needs to be done at a very low shutter speed. The front of the car is the most importaint thing to keep sharp heres some of mine from previous events: 1/40TH 1/30TH 1/30TH 1/40TH
  18. Not a bad view... Can you get up there at night? or early morning?
  19. Yeah, with a lot of glare
  20. A lot of them were around 400 to begin with
  21. Glare was a huge problem all weekend, and because of the low light levels using the polarizer would have meant very high iso (1600)
