  1. 300zx is the same size and will fit, and gtr will also fit. I run a gtr cylinder on my 32 brakes (which surprisingly are basically the same as z32)
  2. Id love to see one of those racepace conversion kits. The site is flash, but relatively painfull to visit. I spoke to Alex at Plazmaman a while back and all his plenums are designed on a flow bench. I cant imagine then that the flow is rubbish.
  3. Nice and easy really. Buy the turbo parts and change them over. If you want to do it the somewhat ghetto way (if your only changing for rims) you can get an extra stud installed in the front hubs and then get the rears, and get your brakes drilled out. If you do buy all the turbo parts make sure you get the master cylinder to match
  4. The plazmaman ones look pretty sharp. Has anyone had any experience with these?
  5. According to http://my240.epijunkie.com/5_Lug_and_Z32_Brake_Conversion yes they are. I personally havent measured mine but that figure looks about right. Cant help on the cost as im in NZ and things tend to be a bit cheaper here.
  6. any other ideas? do all gtr's come with abs?
  7. Thanks mate, will mount that bracket up tomorrow so will send you some pics, looks good. Do you know whether there are any specific differences between the abs and non abs cylinder wise?
  8. Hi there, Im currently upgrading the brakes on my Cefiro to Z32 brakes. I may eventually upgrade again however am keen to see how these go. I've never had any experience in doing brake mods so this will be completely new for me. Im one of the sorts who will read a heap of info on places like here then attempt to do it. Im going to drill out the brakes to suit the 4x114 hubs as i already have plenty of rims to suit 4 stud. My question really is there any difference between an ABS master cylinder and not? Eg what should i be looking out for what purchasing one? Thanks for your help.
  9. Impressive results Ben. Will be nasty in that light little car. Rb25det oil pump is fine to use.
  10. Sounds really good mate. GTR cams people here still want 300+ for so i think a set of billets from Greenline etc may eventually work out cheaper by the time they get the regrind treatment. My thing should be going in the next 3 or so weeks so will consider a new cam come full tune time. Couldnt find an rbcam on tighe cams website. Have you heard anything re weld on tips being dodgy at all? Will look forward to seeing the results. Lith mentioned to me a while back you were having a few issues since the cam install. Dont think that 2" piping could help, not the actuator.
  11. Any luck on this Cubes? Do you have a link to Tighe cams also? Am trying to sort some out at the moment. 272 degree with 9.5 lift can apparently be done on a regrind, whilst Kelfords who build some impressive cams suggest welding to a camshaft isnt at all good.
  12. ive been told by a few people that acl bearings are rubbish. i run genuine nissan ones in my engine.
  13. Heres a link to my rb30 cefiro project. Some of the engine mods are quite similar to what you are proposing. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ce...21#entry4041421
  14. they slope on more of an angle but i dont think you should have any problems. if you do just cut the inside of the bonnet support to bits.
  15. Whats the inlet LCA? Excuse my ignorance. Havent needed to look at this part of my engine yet, but since its almost done, well worthwhile doing so. Exhaust is 3.5 inch, inlet is stock 32 with performance springs and greddy cam gears.
  16. Cheers for the reply. Ive already got some Performance Springs Valve Springs in there so they should do the trick, however have never heard anything about machining the buckets? What needs to be done here? Can you also elaborate on LCA's. Ive never really looked into cams as i havent got my machine running yet, however need to start doing some research now as im almost there.
  17. What are the pro's and cons of a regrind compared to a whole new billet cam? What was the max size wise you could also go Cubes? Have been pondering a regrind of the cams i have in my engine.
  18. ive got a laurel bonnet so really hard to say. on the stock laurel bonnet things fit perfectly with no modifications at all
  19. Robbie Ward who owns RIPS here in NZ who specialises in RB30's said his old Skyline used to spin up 4th gear from start on the burnout. Perhaps you need to do that? Your power levels arent too far off. Ive been drag racing a few years now and my technique involves a nice big burnout and dropping the clutch at around 6500rpm. I think you will find your 60 foots will improve dramatically. Last time i raced i only had 180kws yet ran 1.6 60 foots. Tyres were the same ones as you have, running 10psi. Try this and see how you go. Good luck Cheers
  20. Im pretty lucky ive got some good mates who have helped me through the process. Getting them to work on it has sometimes been a nightmare, however i think they are as keen to see it going as i am now. Heaps of other mates have helped with little things like sanding, masking and putting the car back together so cheers to them also! Next on the list is to mount up some 300zx brakes (redrilled for 4 stud) and then send it to the tuner with instructions not to give it back to me until it puts out 350kws.
  21. Bit of an update. Things have taken so bloody long when your doing things bit by bit. Engine is almost ready to fire. I still need to swap around some wires on the loom and mount the intercooler up, but otherwise we're almost there. For the gearbox i brought a r33gtst box that was involved in a crash. Bellhousing was completely munted. Id previously heard they couldnt be changed, however had a suspicion they could. I then found a gtr bellhousing, spent ages trying to find a new input shaft + housing and then got it rebuilt. A friend donated me most of the bearings. New GTST box incl labour for around 1600 (paid 130 for box as crashed). While i was playing with the driveline i put in a new r200 LSD as my r180 in there was looser than a working girl. I also decided to change my plans and run a Link G3 ECU with Mitsi Evo coils running in a wasted spark mode. Much cheaper than a PowerFC and i think the results will also be heaps better. Stumbled upon a dude who had run out of money on a project of his so i grabbed his cam gears for bugger all. Pic here shows things a few weeks ago with the cooler pipes just sitting on the engine. I still need to make up a bracket to mount the pipes up a little higher and remount the bov flange but we're pretty close! I'll hopefully be getting the intercooler mounted in the next 2 weeks. Its a 600x300x100 one so should cool the system alright. Ive also put a surge tank in the boot, however dont have any descent pics as yet. Have put a pic up of the turbo manifold. Really good quality number made here by a local guy Mike Sinclair. Im running a 44mm wastegate off it with 2.25 screamer and 3.5 inch exhaust.
  22. im dissapointed i read that last thread. i havent even fired my machine up yet and i already want to change the housing to a bigger one.
  23. Is this thing normal weight? Thats a pretty sharp time. Those 60 foots should come down a lot also. How many psi were you running in the tyres? Are they MT ET Radials?
  24. the 2 inch piping is actually 2.25 and is my wastegate screamer. 4inch is my intake and the 2.5 stuff is my cooler piping
  25. cant run a little filter into it without causing any massive problems?
