try searching on www.d1nz.org.nz there is so much info on there its not funny!
-
apparently you can use a rb25de neo head (99+ i think) which due to the different amount of cc's in the head will let you run your bottom end
-
The ACL distributor here told me the ACL race pistons are made by Ross. As we all know Ross make pretty sharp pistons so i think they look to be a good option.

For information sake A r33gtst box bolts into an a31 with auto box crossmember with no issues at all. Straight into the stock slots

From Wikipedia (so believe it or not) Curb vehicle weight: 1350 kg (auto turbo) 1330 kg (manual turbo) 1260 kg (manual RB20E) 1280 kg (auto RB20E) 1300 kg (RB20DE manual) 1320 kg (RB20DE auto), 1400kg (auto turbo 4wd) Ive got an rb20e auto cefiro with laurel front, with no interior and a rb30det with 25t box. Will be interesting to see what that weighs.

im an ex 190kw s14 owner and took a r33 gtr for a test drive, and all i can say is how dissapointed i was. your maintenance costs will no doubt be higher, and id probably be inclined to say stick to the gtst. you know where its been, being 2wd you have less things to go wrong, and you have already started the mod trail. i loved the way it handled but for the extra cost i personally dont think its worth it. i much prefer the evo7 to the gtr.

Or you could just build one yourself for the same price without the nice plenum forged for probably less.

Headlight Wiring Problem On A31
SirRacer replied to SirRacer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
hey dude, thanks for your reply. this engine head comes from an rb25de so im not too sure what you need regarding the injector resistor and pcm valve as this loom doesnt have the resistor in it and is NA? did you get rid of the plug and manually wire things? all of the pcm valve and wiring looms seem to be taken care of on the other side of the loom? any ideas? -
Headlight Wiring Problem On A31
SirRacer replied to SirRacer's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks for the reply. In my pics i has the piece where on the cefiro the headlight stuff plugs into. When the loom is connected to the engine, there is absolutely no way that plug could go anywhere near the fuse box? How did you wire things, do you have any pics? Not in QLD so that wont help much -
Hi There, Ive encounted a problem when using an r32 gts25 loom on my a31 rb20e cefiro. We need to use this loom due to running an rb30det (r32 head) so naturally have used the loom. The skyline loom however looks to have different plugs to connect the headlights whereas the cefiro has a basic plug. Ive ditched the cefiro loom a long time ago, and now need to know what others have done in this situation. In another loom (rb20de) there is only one large plug to connect the headlights and .... The first 2 pics are the plug which connects on the cefiro, and the others are of the loom we are using. If we manually need to wire from the pins to the headlights, what is the other big plug for? Where will that plug in? Thanks Pics

They are 2 temp sensors from memory (obviously due to the location). One has been moved across to make way for the bigger fitting and the other has been put in the water jacket on the intake manifold, along with an aftermarket temp sensor (you can see it there if you look closely). Ill get some better pics soon.

Thanks mate. I havent gone flashy in any places (as you would have noticed), rather went for a reliable setup that would produce the goods. The turbo manifold was a necessity as the stock ones are so crap and mounting a big gate on them is heaps of effort. Its custom and made of 2 inch pipe for the runners. Here is another pic of the way the pipe is run. We have since cut it down quite a lot and mounted a bracket on the side of it to keep it in place.
-
Oh yeah, ive done lots of research into the way water flows through the rb blocks and this is the correct way to run the piping. Running the water return through the back of the engine results in putting more hot water back into the engine. What ive done is relocated a sensor, moved another across and tapped the thread to suit. Looks good and i dont anticipate any problems with it.

I made mine up myself from parts from www.staparts.co.nz and another local shop who i wont reccomend as Apex Brake and CLutch are expensive bollockswits!:-) The ones that i couldnt get some STA are pretty fiddly and not a major and most shops will sell them. STA parts braided lines etc are so cheap and id highly reccomend them. Total cost would have been around 320NZD if i hadnt ordered way too much length for everything. Getting the braid into the fittings takes patience but mine are mint The pic just shows my pushloc lines as i hadnt put the braid on at the time. Pushloc is great as it doesnt rub through things like braid and is so easy to work with. For water stuff its brilliant This is the list of parts i required Oil Return 2 Bolt Oil Drain -10 fitting (thanks salival from the forum for this) -10 Stainless Hose 21.90 (2 feet) XRP 981613 ¾ NPT -10 Adaptor 34 2x - 10 Staight hose ends 23.76 (2) Oil Feed M12x1.25 -4 Adaptor Don’t remember price 2 x -4 90 Hose Ends 43.92 (2) 2 Feet -4 Stainless Braid 10.16 (2 feet) -4 Male to 7/12 -24 Adaptor 7.96 (into -4 90 to suit Gt3540r) Water (Feed and return) Water feeds are the same into the turbo as from the block M14x1.5 -8 Male x3 Block & Turbo 25.29 (3) M14x1.5 -5 90 (to mount into intake) 7.62 -8 Pushloc Hose 4.55 per foot (18.20 as I needed 4) -8 90 Hose ends x2 43.92 (2) From block and into turbo -8 45 Hose Ends (turbo side rocker cover) 24.44 -8 Straight (into 90) 7.40

We're just wiring in an rb30 det into an rb20e cefiro shell and needs to swap a few bits over. We have found this piece here and would love to know what it does. The piece in purple is the bit in question. Anyone able to help? Thanks

R33 Manual Gearbox Options
SirRacer replied to driftrx's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
come to nz mate, we have more japanese cars than you guys and they are selling for 2500+ -
Looks like a weapon mate, id be interested to see how your boost responce goes as ive heard some very mixed stories re plumbing it off the housing, some are great, others very average. Engine looks like a weapon though!

PM sent Injector pin outs is what im after
-
Hi Paul, thanks for the quick reply. I had printed these out already as i thought they would be of great help yet couldnt find anything to do with the injectors specifically. I may be blind so any pointing in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks
-
Ive got the normal loom pin out from http://nissaninfiniticlub.net/photopost/sh...ium&cat=500 however for some wiring we're doing id love to get the pins for the individual injectors as we are wiring in a new resistor pack and want to make sure everything is correct as we arent using a stock loom and have cut plenty of the wires previously. Id rather not take guesses with a brand new ecu. We're also wiring in a wasted spark system with new ignitor also. Does anyone know where something like this can be found? Cheers
-
they are the same mounts, the ecu plug is the same so just change the loom with the engine, its easy really
-
Here is my custom one for a few comments. Feel free to criticise Paid 800NZD for it in steam pipe I agree re the collector, have you got any pictures of that? You have also routed your hoses a long way (just noticed). Why didnt you put the water return straight into the radiator instead of pumping it round the engine again.

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
SirRacer replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I havent seen the rear of a gtr for a while but my car doesnt have a heater or anything like that so ive removed all those hoses and am routing the turbo return into below the front of the plenum. I did this so if i did spring a leak, it could be easily seen and fixed. Tapping and running a 90 fitting in there would work nicely without being 2 obtrusive -
id love to hear what the final problem is, as thats pretty much exactly the same setup as mine and i hope to make similar figures to you

i find that under high rpm's my rb20 pump release valve seems to stick and i lose power steering
