ive got some acl bearings here and didnt know they came in oversize. those ones will work and work well, acl are known for their bearings the acl pistons are actually made by ross in the states so are good also

i run a power fc in my s14 and also a greddy profec b boost controller why ive done this is i dont know how to tune a computer so why have a hand controller when i bought my computer for less and i have a straight boost controller my old school greddy profec b is the best controller around in my opinion. it is as basic as anything and i regularly have it on low boost rather than high boost. i think the whole throttle control by the right foot in theory is a great idea however it doesnt always work with my car i like to run it on low boost knowing that i can nail it without it spinning my tyres to pieces personally i think running a boost controller through a power fc controller is more effort than its worth

does anyone know the biggest turbo that will fit on a stock manifold?

ive got a cefiro with an rb20e (now has rb30e with 20e injectors etc) and ive brought a skyline parts car with an rb25de in it so i was thinking of swapping over that loom

what type of engine did the cefiro have in it previously?

Ive found some good information having talked to the man at ACL in Auckland, NZ (distributor) re forged pistons. This guy knew absolutely everything which was a huge help. ACL and Ross Forged Pistons are owned by the same company . Ross make the pistons for ACL that fit into the rb30. They are however sold as ACL pistons but have the quality of a ross piston. These pistons are a custom piston made to suit the rb25 head as the standard rb30et pistons would have a very low 7 compression ratio. They run about an 8.5.1 compression ratio and come in either 0.5mm oversized or 1mm oversized Also they sell race bearings for the engine. Hello there, im just getting to get into my project car, a 89 cefiro with rb30det I have bought a wrecked rb25de skyline and wanted to swap over the loom (rb20e) to the rb25de loom so i can run a power fc computer or even a standard skyline rb20det computer. Hopefully i can run a power fc dejetro so i will be able to get rid of the afm? Can i run either one of these computers with this loom, and what extra sensors will i need for the turbo engine? If i decided to run a link(im in nz and they are cheap) what would be the better option considering i have a loom with a dizzy and an engine without. Ive been corresponding lots with Sydneykid whos a true rb30 genius. Hes given me some great information however i thought id try and find some loom experts. I have talked to the ACL distrubutor here in NZ and the ACL pistons are actually made by Ross Forged (same company) and rebranded ACL. Ill be using ACL bearings and standard rods with these pistons. Running a t66 turbo with rb25de head (rb25det valve springs), 700cc injectors. Im hoping for 320/340kws at the wheels. A bit different in a 1000 dollar car Cheers

What did you do loom wise with the conversion? I thought the extra capacity of the head may confuse the power fc

so the rb20det computer will be able to be tuned to suit the rb30 with no problems whatsoever? i suppose the rb25de runs top feed injectors also? will this also be fine if you upgrade to gtr injectors? and i then presume a z32 afm is necessary (if not a q45)

Im also interested in forged pistons for a comp ration of 8.5.1 or more

having just read every single page of this thread from start to finish its definitley one of the best ive read on any forum im another nzer and are building an rb30de engine at this stage. i drive a nissan cefiro with a laurel front current with the sohc rb30. atm its running a rb20e intake manifold and injectors and the 20e loom and computer here the laurels come out with an rb25de. if i can get the engine out of one of those, can i take the stock loom and wire this to the stock computer and i presume it will run the 30 until i get it turboed cheers
