  1. The serious track day guys turn up with a set of side pipes for the track, so they don't have to compromise. Usually swap them pretty quickly, like MacAttack. As a bonus, how good does that sound !!
  2. That is a nice answer to the intercooler problem. Does anyone have a contact to buy them (not ebay).
  3. Hey Guys, I feel partly responsible for this discussion (post 2). I guess I love to see all types of performance cars. Its the variety that makes it interesting. With track day I let almost any car come, as my stipulation isn't a car type or model but on the character of the person. If your a nice person come along, if your a tool your not welcome. I guess this is a lot harder to control on an open forum. Having said that I have nothing against car only / model only events, I was just curious about the sub division within the Skyline community. All us round tail lighters have to stick together I say The WRX guys are the same, they have this great cruise they organise every few months that is Subaru only, they let me come along as they know me through track day etc. and I get a lot of comment/discussion about how interesting it is to see how a GTR runs in comparison. I have a family these days so getting out with a good group of guys means more to me than what they drive. End ramble.
  4. Yea why are there "car only", "model only" cruises anyway ?
  5. Sorry guys. The beam failed on the day so we reverted to the backup of the button press method. So the times are not record quality. Only as good as you'd usually get on a Sat afternoon sprint. I'm looking at some solutions but will probably take a little while to get finished. Things seem to take forever when done in the dregs of the day. Paul
  6. Maybe some more tuning around the cruising and off throttle map points will help ecconomy.
  7. Maybe O2 sensor is stuffed.
  8. There is a wrecker down the gold coast opposite Zupps on Ferry Rd that has lots of import stuff. But the prices are not a bargain.
  9. Track day fuel consumption, lol. Is that measured in litres / lap.
  10. Can't you just get a day license for those events anyway ?
  11. Probably it would be right to say that the grooves pump the water out in the wet so the tyre can make contact with the road. The compound is softer on R-Compound tyres so they do stick better in the wet. That's why wet weather tyres perrish in racing when the track drys out.
  12. I have some Bridgestone semi slicks, you get about 5000Km out of them on the street. They were fun but not ecconomical so its back to SO-3's for the road. They were great also in the wet also.
  13. Did you get this sorted ?
  14. I bought mine last year and I'm 99% sure that the R32 GTR and R33 GTR PFC's are the same. But I do know there are different versions for different models. PFC's and hand controllers. That's why the NZ guy sells different versions of his software for different models.
  15. Is it the same hand controller as for a R32 GTR ?
  16. Be great to have more than one option to go to, as the pricing of our only option keeps going up every year is leaps and bounds. Competition is a great way to get the numbers realistic.
  17. I though it would be good to put all the SAU people together !! Paul
  18. Tuesday Feb 21st.
  19. Hey guys, Track Day is only 3 weeks away. Time to get booked in, a bit short on numbers at the moment. I've put the 5 groups up on: www.TimeAttack.com.au If you want a full SAU group let me know and I'll move some cars around. Paul
  20. Sounds like you guys need a complete solution for this dispute. You could have a system based on not only best lap times on the Sprint, Clubman and National circuits (weighting more on the shorter circuits due to less dependancy on power) but also a consistency segment, maybe discard the fastest and slowest lap time for the day then calculate the distribution of times. Also, for those who came, how good was that video Brett did of last years track days !!!
  21. I agree, buy the steak. I put one together for a guy who was doing some tuning and he prompty realised it was junk and bought a good quality wide band unit for the appropriate $$$.
  22. Generally your insurance does not cover you on the race track. Read your policy carefully or call your insurer. You don't need a CAMS license as we run under the AASA, which we buy a public liability insurance policy from. You need to have a Qld Raceway annual license which is $55. You require this to do any motorsport out there. You need a helmet and long sleeve non flammable clothes. Your car needs to be in good working order with no fluid leaks etc. The cost is $120. If you want to book in a group of mates, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the details. Paul
  23. I feel so invisible. lol How did you miss the "Time Attack" sticky thread at the top of the page. Anyway, I've now posted up the 5 groups of next track day and the full results for last year on the SPRINT track. More to follow... www.TimeAttack.com.au
  24. My wheels were gutter damaged when I got my car. A few nasty chips on the outer edge and a line through one of the spokes. Anyway I got them powder coated at the place in Sumner Park. They fixed all the damage and coated them all for about $200. That was about a year ago and I have had no problems and they are easy to clean.
  25. Anyone found that tub of forum glue to make this thread sticky ?
