Using the Gates belt on mine Luke, so long as it's tensioned properly you'll have no problems. They are a bit louder however

Nah it's definitely for on the spot guard rolling. Speaking of which I need to do mine before the track day; since I got the R888's they seem to VERY slightly hit the guard over big bumps
