The way I see religion, and it's just me ( I'm trying to get you to see my understanding of it - not to agree with it ) is it's a tool for change; or depending on the situation - control. Whether or not there is a higher power up there, the faith that there is, gives people the strength they need to better themselves. Whether this is a terrible thing or not is questionable, I mean, so long as someone is good, what does it matter what they believe right?
