i think the quilty of that job is the reason people would pay top dollar for someone like you to hand make one of these rather than those mass produced ones. very very nice job quality work

Just like to say first point i love that 34 looks hot congrats Cara, and sorry for keeping on with the side thred Secondly when i first started getting into cars and imports and skylines i was all turbos blah blah na's are gay, n i had a mate who had an na and everyone at uni used to give him shit about it, But then my car died and it came time for me to look for a new car and i loved skylines i was still a year and a half or so away from getting my full licence, and i live in an area swarming with traffic cops so i wanted something leagal and i loved skylines so i went and bought an na, It totaly changed my thoughts about the whole thing, coming from a v6 bit r missin to the na 33 was a huge jump, skyline out preformed in every way and i think if i had a turbo i would been more up-mself and prob totaled it with-in no time. I have way more respect for the actual cars themselves and what everone does with them now then i ever would have otherwise. On a side note i know here in Vic in the last 2 years i have seen a huge increase in na skylines all over the place, and i have been talking with a few importing places and 1 place in particular told me they now bring in more na's then they do turbos. With a large number of p platers being a huge buyer market for skylines and all the new strickter and harsher rules Na's are going to grow and grow and so will this forum and the wealth of knowledge. ps Cara you got any interia pics? is it stock inside or does it match the rest of the car??

hey cara, This topic has come up a few times and i've read a few of the previous threads, i think from memory theres a few different weighted lighened flywheels, and each of which are suited to different styles of driving, i'm quite sure if you get the one which is only a little bit lighter than the stock one it will be benifitial to daily driving, as your car will have more accelaration, i think someone came up with some equation that like 1 kg rotational weight reduction is equivelent of 10kg of car weight (they arnt the correct figures but something like that), but you will loose some toqure, i also remember some people who said they have them didnt notice much if any of a difference on petral consumption although there were a few people who said the oppisite. I think they are well worth the money if you research the right one for what you want to do. i dont have one in my car, i was thinking about getting one when i burnt my clutch out but then i didnt have the cash to fork out at the time n i dont really think they are enough of a gain to warrent dropping the trans just for changing the flywheel.

mm i'd like to see some pics before i could really imadgine what it would look like but i think with your gtr spoiler i dont think it would look good with bonnet and the whole spoiler, mabye either only paint the middle wing bit of the the spoiler and the bonnet or if anyones got pictures what about get the bonnet roof and boot/spoiler. i'll give a couple of places a buzz for you tommorow but shouldnt be too expencive.

hey all its a 400r front bar, this car looks tops in the flesh, but theres always room to move, anyone got any pics of black bonnet on grey car that might break it up a bit more. Ive always loved gloss white with black but its a lot of money and effort to change the colour of the car and depending on how much you want to spend there's still going to be somethings like engine bay that might end up left grey.

i wouldnt recomened the c.o.m.e turbo stoker cause it only uses 3 cylinders to spool the turbo n prob end up being a bit laggy
-
i love the idea but i think i might do it differently thinking of buying a gtr shell and putting in a suzi cappachino 0.8lt motor in it and bolting it up the the 4wd, then raise it up with some 1980's landcruiser suspention wheels and some blocks, i think it would be a mad as car

hey nabil im not looking at getting anywhere near 300 trying to chase something like 200-250, i've got about 170 atm n i think i'd be more than happy at about that power increase. Yeh de-comping it to around 9:1 would be great as it would keep the nice bottom end range, so you think i'd be better off just getting a thicker headgasket some bearings and rings ect how much do you think that will set me back?? ps i pmed you about the k-frame lol i had a little issue i everything apart on my car and took it out then had another look at it and realised that it was completly different to the one that was on your old shell and i ran outa time taking the one off you shell.

Ok im building up a car from shell up and i have a rb25de which has been turboed from my old car, now im thinking whilst its out and im fixing up the shell i may as well spend a little money and re-build the engine, now the labour isn't going to cost me anything cause i work at a mechanics and one of the guys is going to help me but i just want to comfim i have everything im going to need. Gtr pistons with rings Gtr Rods Gtr crank Gtr crank bolt and washer Crank seal Rear main seal Vrs kit Timing belt with tentioners Is there anything else i've left off?? i know lots of people say just get forgies but im quite certain i can get all the parts i need for less than $1500 and with no labour cost i think thats a resnoably good idea insted of selling it and buying a det spec engine for my shell.

Gtr Pistons In Na+t
unarmed_skyline replied to unarmed_skyline's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok i did a lot of sole searching threw the turbo section and it seems like there is a little bit of info in there. looks like if i want to use the 26pistons i need a crank and rods to suit, plus i gain an extra .1 litres yay, havent found any info about comp ratios but i think it says they'll be about the same as a standard rb26 so what like 8.5:1 or something. thinking if i can find a crank cause i've found some roads and pistons i may do it, lol im going to have bits of everthing in my car . series 2 turbo shell, series 1 na engine + series 1 turbo parts, gtr pistons crank rods, plus aftermarkets bits mm when i get this thing on the road if i ever do its going to be a compeatly different car than what i started with -
ok, i remember sometime ago reading threw one of the threads somewhere that if you put stock gtr pistons into an rb25de they will fit straight in no probs and they will lower the comp ratio down to some value like 9:1 and would be able to handle more boost but still retaining a higher compression ratio, can all you guro's out there comfirm as i cant find the post atm and theres some up for sale and whilst the cars off the road would be nice to swap em over so i can up the boost a bit cheers Jarrod

Car Seat Covers Vs Side Airbags
unarmed_skyline replied to MearCat's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i work in parts at a dealer and we have always been advised it is illegal to have ANY seat covers on a car with side airbags, because even if there is a cut out for the airbag it still might catch on the cover when it explodes, if they have not been extencivly crash tested then they are illegal, and if anyone is caught selling them to a customer without fully explaining that it is illegal in the event of an accident the seller is liable. -
i had no probs with the car after the next fill up, it was like a year ago now.

The Nissan Skyline-9th Best Sportscar Of Alltime
unarmed_skyline replied to wizlb's topic in General Automotive Discussion
nsx was a great car but was always regarded as under-powered, thats why the new v10 model i think coming out next year is going to be awesome, they having 2 models a v6 and the v10 mmmm should be nice looks hot to. Ps i work at a Honda NSX dealer (only 1 in melb and i think only another 3 or 4 in the country) so when it comes out we'll have a couple on the yard mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm cant wait -
