  3. u can hook up the speaker wires from the head unit to the amp, most amp's come with a wiring loom to be plugged in if you dont have rca outputs, as with most stock head units. The amps have been desigened with this feature so as long as the headunit pumps out a nice sound and the amp is of a good quility as well then it wont sound bad should sound just as good as if it had rca output's allthough in saying that most after market decks which dont have rca outputs are either cheap with crappy sound output or old (which might not be that much of a problem but still wont sound as good with some of the new technology out there) consider upgrading your deck but try without first, just depends how perdantic you are i mean some of us goo out n spend 4 -- 5 k on a real nice stereo and others spend a grand have can have the same decible output but mabye not as nice and round a sound that misses some freqz good luck n tell us how it goes

  5. everyone on the n/a secton alwayz mentions get a turbo engine and swap it into your n/a but how hard is it?? What needs to be done other than the obvious? i have a series 1 r33 -- are the engine mounts the same between the turbo and non turbo??? is the gear box compataple?? does it line up?? i have been told the n/a box is strong than he turbo box is it really??? how much needs to be done to your clutch are they the same??? wiring wise what else needs to be wired in and how hard is it?? will the stock gtst ecu plug straight in??? what sort of prices do rb25det go for (complete with turbo)??? and how much can you get for your n/a engine i think this information would help more than just me, i have tryed to find the info on the info but everyone just says to do it and doesnt expand thankz everyone
  6. ey there some sort of comper in the boot of my series one skyline and i cant figure out what it is, its a silver box mounted on the drivers side of the car next to the battery mounted just under the parcel tray, it seems to get very very hot and its causeing extra tempreture above my amp and im not sure what it actully does can anyone tell me/??
  7. ey been wondering round the forum looking round and looks like the best way to lower compression ratio to be able to turbo my n/a would be changing to gtr piston's, but i've been told you would also have to change the con rod's is this true and if so would pistons and rod's off a gtst be enough of a drop?? wouldnt it run the same compression as a turbo as i thought the pistons were the only diff between the internals of the n/a and turbo motors?? -- anyone know rough figures on how long and how much it would be to change pistons and con rods??
  8. well as 160rwkw is seeming less possible, prob thinking of turboing it but if i do i would want the turbo to kick in a bit earlier, if i use turbo from r32 will all the othe stock parts from a 33 work>?? as in manifold, dump pipe, front pipe ect, and also when abouts would the turbo kick in???

Ey If anyone wants any whiteline suspention kits i can get them quite a bit cheeper than the retail price, They normally retail at $1839,00 plus freight and the kit includes front and rear springs and shockers, front and rear bar's, camber and castor kits and a hicas bypass kit. I can get these kits for all you SAU guys or anyone interested for about $1400 for a full kit, but if you by more i could do better say 1300 each if you buy 2 and 4+ i might be able to do $1200 depending on what i can get off the supplier, I also can get kits with only spring and shocker's only which lower the car to 345mm i think the whiteline site states, they might be round the $900 mark all the information on these suspention kits can be found on the whiteline site www.whiteline.com.au, search by car, Most likely if you live in melb i should be able to deliever the kits to you, although unfortunaly my supplyer needs prepayment on these good's and so i would have to as well cause i dont have that kinda cash lying round atm (flying lessons are expencive) The kits can take anywhere from 3 days-2 weeks to arrive depending on stock levels so u might have to be patient
  11. mmm i didnt really think it was that much of a task to get it to 160, its prob only bout 50rwkw, but this is my first n/a car ive tryed to get any power out of, well ill prob go with turboing it although im going to have to find a place to hide the turbo set up, Cop wasnt trying to canery me he was actually quite nice had a talk to him, he bent over straight for the turbo n when i said it was n/a he said ohhh n like then he gave me a look at their print out of cars wich are too powerfull, NO R32's gtst's on it for anyone who cares,
  12. well big prob is that im on my p's which is the only reason i bought an n/a in the first place, so as much as i could turbo it myself i gto pulled over the other day n the first thing the cop looked for was the turbo he was trying to book me for power to weight, said he pulled me over cause my bodykits not painted yet, got outa it without a fine, but if i had a turbo there even if it was an n/a motor i rekon he woulda booked me, n pretty much supercharging it might be the same sorta prob damn cop's prob can't tell the difference, only prob with keeping it n/a is it get's quite expence, i originally put a 2-1/2 zorst n its was way way way to loud n the guy said i would get more lo-mid power with a 2-1/4 n some of the low end would be lost with a 2-1/2 n bigger would just start to loose power
  13. i want to try get my n/a up to at least 160rwkw but even up to 200 but im not sure what to do?? At the moment i got an r33 n/a manual and my mechanic's (work at honda dealership) tell me the engine is in perfect nick, atm im upgraded the clutch to a heavy duty exceedy clutch, got a custom made 2-1/4 exhust and custom cold air intake with poddy set up, Car goes pretty hard atm keeps up and beats a lot of stock auto turbo's 32's and 33, i want to get more power out of the engine but the mechanics at my work dont know anything bout skylines, what can i do to get the power up to the figures i want?? not sure on a budgect yet so approx prices would also be helpful, thinking mabye getting it ported, apexi power fc and adjustable cam's but i doubt this will be enough power, is it mabye worth getting someone to turbo or supercharge it??? im scoured threw a lot of the forum and noby seems to talk about power figures on n/a's
  14. yeh just ask for jarrod n say who ya are n ill sort ya out, astoria are pretty good for parts they got a strong trade base they keep more bonnets n bumpers in stock but yeh all good
  15. headunit actully has 3 rca outs, but yeh havent had any probs with it now soo all sorted thanks for everyones help
  16. i finialy fixed it, for some reason the rca wasnt grounding properly, so to fix this i ran a wire from the rca sheild to ground right next to the head unit,n the problem was fixed, really simple grrrr waste of 5 days, although i still have no clue what happen that the rca wasnt getting grounded the hum's have gone now, i think mabye the gound wire got burnt out neer the headunit but i have no way to prove that without dismantiling the head unit which im not about to do to a $1600 head unit, its working now and thats good enough for me, thanks heaps for all your help
  17. thommo, yeh i know how to use microcat, which is the programme honda supply's to us to find all the parts n stuff (id say thats prob the honda epc) , there no real cheat just have to get used to where everything is, i can give you a hand if you need or just tell me what u need and i can look it up at work for ya n give you prices avaliabilitys part numbers and all the shit,
  18. yeh i grounded it to that same point, gearbox surround, the headunit is only 3-4 months old so its most likely not the head unit but if i cant diagnose the prob by the end of the week ill get someone to check it out, the remote wire goes straight from the head unit to the first amp then to the second connected both together at the front amp trigger plug
  19. its easier for me to fit if its already been put on before dont have to drill holes ect so skyline 33 if you can come down to $350 ill come down and grab it off you in a week or soo, i work in prahran, n live in knox soo ishouldnt be to hard to work out a time to come down n grab it off ya

The problem still occurs when i turn one of the amp's off, i've been fiddiling a fair bit trying to figure it out and nothin seems to be working although we now think that somehow i am getting interferince entering most likly the grond loop but possibly the +12V line, the hum seem's to be not only a turbo sounding hum but there is also a rusty purr as well, most likly it is entering before the headunit as it is coming threw both amp's although i have cheaked all my grounding and power points and they all seem fine, its not a dvc sub and the impediance's and ohom's are all matched, i can also hear my inticators threw the speakers when the car is on accessory, hooking up an ossilloscope (i cant spell) tommorow to try and find out if there is noise on the line and if so which line hopefully this will fix the problem,

  22. the rear amp is being earthed straight to the chassie where the battery earths to the chassie, all 12 sorces run straight from the battery and not threw existing sorces, the front amp is earthed stright to the chassie there is never any power or ground wire longer than 30 cm and none of them run anywhere neer the rca, i have tryed not bridging the amp and that doesnt seem to work, the wired thing was that i had no problems or trounbles with either amp untill i switch the channels on one amp and the problem has spred to both amp's without any wirering changes, im running 8 gauge wire which in 90% of purposes if sufficent never had any problem in any other system ive set up like this, not sure bout the ohmic impedence ill have to cheak that out tommorow DVC sub?? not sure what that means
  23. ey, skyla is the ecu your using ment for a turbo or non-turbo, im looking into getting a power-fc ecu but its ment for a turbo n they dont make an na one will it still work?????
  24. ey, im looking for some aftermarket rear wheel archs and some sort of rear bar or rear pod's if possible in gunmetal grey but if anyone has new or secondhand in diff colour, im pretty picky with the look of the rear bar soo pic's please if anyone got any thankz heaps
