  1. Check ecu codes. Might be a knock sensor etc fault
  2. http://www.powertraincontrolsolutions.com/egt.php Have read good things about these kits. Not cheap when u put it all together though.
  3. I think it would be a good investment to get individual egt sensors on ur new manifolds. With ur power and usage get a logger
  4. yep, can easily go wrong if you don't know.
  5. why did you change the coilpacks if you didnt have an issue? does it feel like only 1 cylinder is misfiring or a few? put the stock coilpacks in 1 at a time till you find the dud, also don't rule out spark plugs just yet, check each one very closely for hairline cracks etc, also check the electrode condition/colour and see if there is 1 that is different.
  6. for learning power fc is easier than a nistune, well depending on what mods you are planning on running, nistune can be a bit tricky when changing inj and AFM etc for learners
  7. $950+14.40 on ebay right now. then just a widebandor adaptronic $900ish plus wideband plus knock box, plenty of options depending on your budget, then you should buy a dyno
  8. ok, let us know if there is an issue with the spark plug height, also before you pull the head off check the cam lobe to shim clearance with a feeler gauge set and see if the is insufficient clearance or if its ok.
  9. you tube vid please, almost sounds like a crazy big cammed naturally aspirated race car
  10. Check that the coilpack cradle is sitting correctly. Also what spark plug are u using? Maybe the spark plug is too long or not completely down in the spark plug well/thread. Check this very carefully. Does the spark plug screw all the way down? Check the thread As for the compression pour some oil down the bad cylinder and see if the compression test result is higher. If not then maybe the valves arent lapped in correcty or maybe the valve is beeing held open by incorrectly fitted shims
  11. Not yet. Just got home from the movies. Saw arthur. Pretty funny movie. Ill pm guys in the morning.
  12. Only had a really quick glance at urs about the disc rotor. My bad. Which way did u move ur caliper
  13. i actually had to use a full washer and 2 shims for the adaptor to the hub itself so the caliper moved towards the outside of the car.
  14. i have 2 drivers side disc rotors, i need a passenger side. had a prick of a time fitting the caliper, when the brake pads have the anti rattle backing on i cant turn the rotor, so for now i took the anti rattle plates off until the pads wear abit, and yes this was after spending 30mins centering the caliper over the rotor with the shims.
  15. Not happy jan. The one thing i didnt check was disc rotation till i went to fit the passenger side. . Everything Else seems ok. Any one got 2 passenger side disc rotors?
  16. I have 2 drivers side disks fuuuuuuuuu.... Did anyone else have 2 passenger side disks? :( :( :(
  17. Glad u worked out the issue without spending lots of money like most forum users.
  18. Just get a good boost gauge. Keep the boost at a Safe level depending what engine u have. Have the basics like 3inch exhaust from turbo, front mount cooler and a new fuel pump.
  19. Get a power fc. The knock readout on the controller will be fine fine for what ur doing.
  20. try getting a jet literally 30% bigger than your current jet, then check AFRs or if not possible, check egt with a temp gun and compare to your current egt with petrol. then once set try adding some timing and see how you go with it. you should try and have some way of testing the power, ie 0-100kph with petrol vs 0-100kph with e85 + more timing, let us know how you go
  21. thats why im interested, RB motors seem more prone to detonation in cyl 5 and 6, im trying to work out all motor types, Sr20 mine died in cyl 2, V8 engines which cylinders more prone to detonation ETC ETC
  22. my bad, forgot about that one, im trying to find cylinder specific piston failures on different engines, ill start reading through it and see if there is repeated cylinder/s that failes. ps i like this one from 2004
  23. oh yeah forgot about this one, i was trying to find out cylinder specific failures on different engines, mainly due to piston failures, ill have to start reading which cylinder seems more common.
  24. Doing a research onto different engines and how they have let go, So tell me your stories about which engine, what died, how you think it died, Ill start off S13 Sr20DET cyl 2 piston failed (melted 1 side of it) i believe that the highflowed injectors i was running leaned out on cylinder 2. R32 GTR RB26DETT, fresh imported car, was running for 2 weeks before cylinder 5 and 6 melted pistons. cyl 5 had 60psi and cyl 6 had 29psi. think either lean out or detonation, this was 5 years ago so i can't remember exactly
  25. lol, best not to Levi, get a new pump, don't wanna start an argument with the walbro haters but get a walbro $200 ish and rewire the fuel pump,
