  1. are you still running that untuned power fc?
  2. you really need to get the fuel line off, follow the one from the top of the fuel filter, the other end, then disconnect it there, undo the clamp, then try and twist the hose over the pipe so that it breaks the bond, then put the hose into the coke bottle as previously discussed and turn the key to on and see if the pump is flowing.
  3. Hey Goeff, can u explain more on the trust pickup please.
  4. Get ur tuner to drop some ignition timing just before the rev limit. This will slow the engine down and help prevent limiter bashing.
  5. Up to u. Limiter is limiter. 500rpm won't make much difference. Gonna break shit either way. What ecu is it?
  6. Lol Kimberley laughed at that. Hahaha
  7. not at all, its showing the possibility of how -5's might go on a larger than stock motor ???
  8. both are top feed, a quick search suggests they will fit
  9. haha you know it the evo is purpose built. i remember a few of the old guys asking how much GTR's are worth, they seem keen to get in the seat of one
  10. thats fine as the starter motor draws a fair amount of the voltage. Even though there is power going into the pump doesn't mean there is fuel coming out of it.
  11. is that when your doing a massive burnout and then they make you sit on the bench for 2 runs
  12. im keen for the next one, i really wanna beat that time, i heard that if his record is broken he will bring his car back to aus to win it back, and if i win it i will be there waiting for him so we can have a hill climb battle
  13. yep your right Paul, i definately wasnt having traction issues with mine. next time im going to run with less fuel, i had a full tank because i trailered my car there, gonna try under half a tank next time. and a few more little tricks
  14. not at the redneck hill climb event. the current record is set by an evo lancer from europe that has won pikes peak, ran 23.88 and i ran 24.51 from memory or there abouts in my almost stock GTR
  15. now check for fuel flow, put all the spark plugs back in, take off the fuel line from the fuel filter to rail and put into a empty coke bottle, turn key to on and see if fuel flows into the coke bottle for 4 seconds,
  16. is it blowing any smoke? do some basic checks, and check ALL the intercooler pipes are still connected and TIGHT.
  17. LOL Steve-o, they had the biggest sook at you that day. i love how they were bagging out our GTR's saying there too heavy to run quick times at that hill climb. then we got within half a second of the record. damn rednecks. The sound of Pauls car is very hard to explain, sortof sounds like an RB but almost sounds like a SR20 with a screamer pipe mixed with RB engine note. i know that explanation doesn't do it justice but it sounds wicked in real life. goes ok too lol
  18. its not the power output that is the issue, its the higher temps being more prone to detonation.
  19. i got 117mph with 11.7et with 296kw, car weighed in at 1550 with me in it.
  20. It will work because it has the 360 degree marks. Then the ecu just needs a reference for tdc compression stroke. Nissan optical is a trippy one
  21. Dont run a vlt pump then. Thats a shithouse design. U have the collar on the crank so make sure u run a good pump
  22. Unbolt all the coil packs, take the spark plugs out (or buy a spark plug tester from repco etc) push the spark plugs into the coilpacks and plug the coilpacks in. Make sure the ignitor is plugged in. Rest the thread of the spark plug against an earth(a non painted metal part of the engine) and get some one to crank the engine. U will see the spark jump from the centre electrode to the earth electrode of the spark plug.
  23. Yep. Connect it up to laptop and see what it says. if there is no external air leaks, then check the idle motor or the throttle is incorrectly adjusted giving an internal airleak.
