  1. check your cooler pipes. i had something similar a while ago. it would idle like there was no problem at all, but come onto boost and the cooler pipe would be pressurised and i started to leak near a clamp. cheers Jeremy
  2. got my engine all apart now. taking my crank to action cranks at wetherill park tommorow to get the collar fitted. i didnt realise how bad running the n1 pump with stock early 32 GTR crank would be. i can see the witness marks on the inside of my n1 pump, literally 2mm of the oil pump drive was being used... craaazy guess im lucky it didnt break on me.
  3. finally pulled my 32GTR engine out yesterday after rebuilding it 6 months ago and notknowing about the oil control issues. so far i have pulled head and sump off. i went to put in a 1.5mm restrictor but it seems that the one in there is smaller than the 1.5 already...weird. the only conclusion i can think of is that when the block was machined it closed the hole a little. any thoughts? should i still fit the 1.5 restrictor. cheers
  4. dont worry buddy your not alone, i did the same thing. had my motor running for about 2 months before i knew, now im worried about racing it, so i am gonna pull the motor out this week end. spewin....

  7. few interesting notes about the 3 MPS direct INJECTION, yes thats right just like a diesel, runs extremely high fuel pressure, like in the thousand/s but is still ignited by spark (unlike a diesel) runs 16psi of boost, awesome.

  9. yeah i dont mind if we have to do that... hey dirtgarage, with these switches can you turn from 4wd to rwd when your under power or not good. does the GTR keep using 4wd when over 110? cheers Jeremy

Duncan- knowing my luck i will be one of the few that have a failure. looking at getting a tomei pump beacause i thought while its out again and im doing every thing else to make it invincible(well so i dont break it straight away). also beacause my mate just broke his n1 oil pump on a rwd rb26, dumped the clutch at 9000rpm and saw his oil light come on. big problem. not keen on rebuilding my motor again. rb26s13-my specs and dyno sheet are in the rb26 power topic. think the dyno sheet in there is for about 403kw will have a look now.cant remember if i scanned my 416kw sheet. cheers Jeremy

  16. thanks heaps guys. my car is an 89 model. So will definately need the crank collar. i thought the main factors were the grip with big power in a straight line throwing the oil to the back of the motor away from the pickup. the external oil return will be the easy and cheapest part of my repairs, so i think i might just do it any way. who knows one day i might go have a play on a curcuit. i think i might just put a baffle in the sump to help. just in case. but i was hoping i didnt have to spend heaps. hi octane are selling them for about 370 retail. so ill get it for a bit under that. any body know wat the length of the oil pump drive is with collar- without collar- getting a tomei oil pump for 1450 i have got a price of 200 for a jun collar. acl race series metal head gasket 1.3mm 450 (thought it would be cheaper) 9500rpm max valve springs 654 (still got standard ones) 1mm oil gallery restricter 7 if any one can do better for any of the parts i need or would reccomend a different type please feel free to let me know. cheers Jeremy
  17. hey every one, unfortunately for me i have to pull out my freshly rebuilt motor that has just made 416kw. reasons being- i was un aware that i needed to add a crank collar to the fron of my crank. i am currently using an n1 oil pump on stock r32 gtr crank. also i didnt know about the inherent oil supply issues of the rb26. so i am going to use a 1mm oil gallery restrictor, add the external oil return from the back of the head to my 2nd and unused turbo oil return.(running t04z) reason for this topic is, do i need to get sump extension or can i just get a baffle from hi octane racing? this car is a street/dyno/sometimes drag gtr. but i am worried about going to the drags due to the above reasons. too high a risk factor of it running dry of oil. cheers Jeremy
  18. hey guys. running 40thou oversize on standard bore. running standard crank and rods. yeah i thought the 1 rear housing would be too big too but im happy with it. it pulls at about 3000 then kicks ass at 4000-4500 and screams. the dyno rpm on the sheet is just an estimate as my car revs to 8,300 slightly laggy but its worth it. without my poncams it was alot worse. went to the drags before cams and ran an 11.4@120mph with soft launch and slow change to 3rd. was my 1st time there and 4th run for me of the night. just tidying things up a little then i will go to WSID again to try and crack a 10 second pass. problem being i will only get one go if i hit a 10.9999999 cause then i will need a roll cage etc. and i dont want all that in my street GTR. thanks for every ones input.   19. when i had the blue smoke issue, i carried out a compression test with stock cams. it was 155psi on all 6. only recently put in the poncams. havent done a comp test yet. has had a few hard dyno sessions. i will do a comp test this weekend if you would like. are your Je pistons 40 thou oversize? did the person that built your motor know that je pistons use smaller clearances then most forged pistons. cheers ps i dont know what hektic stickers are. i just put hektic on my profile thingy cause i like it.
  20. hey sinista32, i rebuilt my engine not long ago pretty well the same. je pistons 260 poncams etc. because piston 5 and 6 ring lands decided to melt. bad blow by before rebuild i had a really bad problem after the rebuild of blowing blue smoke when idling, cruising but not boosting. after about 1000kms i finally worked out that in the cam covers there are filters before the pcv outlets. mine were blocked and because the pressure couldnt go anywhere it made its way into the combustion chamber, hence the blue smoke, i removed the cam covers and soaked the filters in kero, havent had a problem since. it was heaps embarrasing when you have just rebuilt your motor and its blowing smoke all over the place... let me know if this helps cheers Jeremy
  21. im using an xspower highmount manilfold on my 32 GTR with to4z. it made 416kw on friday with 23psi. only problem i had with it was the wastegate was facing the wrong way, so we had to cut and weld the flange facing the correct position. cheers
  22. hey guys. went to the sbo dyno day today. bit dissapointed about a few things. 1st things 1st but. i won another dyno comp... awesome bit unhappy with the treatment of the cars. guy calls your name takes your key stalls it a couple of times then tries to blow it up by holding it at about 8000 for 5 seconds. made me really angry . saw a little old skool rolla with twin cam rolla motor in it, last run about to hit rev limiter and bang, bye bye tailshaft. lost the uni joint sent the tailshaft to the ground snapped it sent it up into the floor pushing the floor up under the drivers seat and smashing a bottle of wild the sphincter of the universe he had there. crazy. i got overall winner.... and you know what they gave me as a prize a f***ing bottle of 20w50 oil that wont be going into my car. how stin g. i wanted a trophie. b stards. some one needs to teach them about how to treat cars on a dyno and in general. and to leave the fan on in front of the car inbetween runs to help stop heat soak.
  23. put in an 18psi spring, it helped alot but still drops off boost a little at high revs. im very happy with the power and the response from the setup i have. here is the graph i got back today on 23-24psi.
