  1. Pix of the oil mixed in radiator. Never mind. Let us know how u go with the head
  2. 1st ive heard of it
  3. Zeb the only thing u need to be aware of is advancing the timing in off boost area can make the boost laggier. Sometimes u need to use less timing to get the turbo spooling which promotes power, even a few psi is going to help.
  4. Ok then if the part about the happy dyno wasn't aimed at me then its all good. In relation to ramp rates, i used the same ramp rates on dave's car as i did dynafits ss1.5 and sarge's ss2 so tht would have to be the best comparison seeing as its the same dyno. And its not in victoria or wa lol So if we can dig up sarge's and dynafit's sheets we can hv a looksy. Once sarge has his car up and running again i will do a full tune on it. Harey i know ur not a believer but come for a drive and get dave to take u for a run. His car really does do exactly what he says.
  5. Did u clean the throttle bodies? Did u use a sealant on the gaskets? Try winding the screw in but there might be an air leak somewhere or the throttle butterflies arent sealing
  6. I like the fact that ur watching ur boost gauge at that high rpm. No wonder he's not changing gears. Too busy watching the boost gauge
  7. All coilpacks should have a common power wire. Normally the same colour on all 6 plugs. Check these have power. U will need an LED test light to check there is a pulse coming from the ecu on one of the other pins in the coilpack plug
  8. haha dammit, hoping nobody checked the new SAU jumpers out, theyre pretty comfy but the models need work lol for everybody scratching there heads check out the NSW section and look at the NEW Merchandise
  9. you know it call me MR SMILES. post in his thread and ill reply in there
  10. Just got back from doing clutch on Dynafit's SS1.5, this is the longest i have driven his car, 15km each way, it builds boost very qquickly and very nicely from around 2800RPM and transient throttle and cruising around it is very responsive, but with WOT the boost builds at 2900 and is at full 21psi at around 3800RPM, this test was in 2nd and 3rd gear, in 4th it build quicker obviously, this car has only the basics, 3inch exh, cooler, injectors, Z32 AFM and power FC, im sure with adj cam gear we could gain response, As Tao said this is close to on par with his own results, Sarge's car made 244kw at ADVAN performance on 11psi, then 1st run on our dyno it barely made over 200 from memory, after we had tuned it it made 244kw on 19psi, there is something holding this car back, according to Tao the intake pipe on this car is a 60kw restriction, Sarge is in the process of making a new intake pipe but has run into major issue's since doing so, looks like his car will need a full retune due to the different position of the AFM. Harey what makes you say the dyno i use is a happy dyno? that is actually quite funny cause if it was a happy dyno than everycar i have tuned would be making unrealistic numbers which they don't. even funnier that before we started tuning Dave's car there was a comment made about atleast 1 person on SAU saying i bet its a happy dyno. So back on topic, Tao how's things going
  11. We tune ramp rate depending on hp of the car. Mostly 12sec or 11sec but sonetimes we try 13 just to see the difference. Very minimal. I have never tuned on a 9 sec ramp rate. Just not needed
  12. What are u tripping on. Sarge's car was 19psi. The ss1.5 was 19psi. In going to pick it up now to do a clutch upgrade tonight. Ill let u know how it goes
  13. Harey are u reffering to Dave's result on the mainline dyno i use? I like Hypergear turbo's, i have installed an ss1.5 on a customers car with a 3inch metal intake, then tuned it on the same dyno as i did Dave's. The car made 259kw which is down a bit on what it made on Tao's car, but it drives great and sounds awesome. The power was a little inconsistent but i am putting in a new clutch tonight which may have been an issue. I hve been in Sarge RX8's car after i tuned it to 244kw and it was fairly responsive an pulled hard. Dave's car with 2835 does reach full boost at 3200rpm and fry's the semi slicks on high boost, Sarge's car doesnt break traction as easily. I can keep comparing all day but Hypergear is a great turbo with a perfectly matched price tag
  14. How many spots are still available?
  15. I Normally go to the cooler pipe. But either is fine. It makes the lines alot shorter
  16. Haha. Im gonna watch number 2 tonight
  17. Mmmm true blood. Im in love with sookie
  18. Uh oh, would have bent valves, From now on before u try and start the motor ALWAYS turn the engine over by hand(using a 27mm socket on a ratchet) that way if it hits the valves and pistons u will feel it and shouldnt do damage. Then u can fix cam timing and try again
  19. What mods do u have now?
  20. Try ringing a skyline wreckers. They should know
  21. Take off the cooler pipe that outlets from the turbo, get a nipple fitted i to that pipe and refit. That will be a lot shorter, But most turbo's will die off in the higher rpm's unless they are pretty big
  22. But he is talking about an ebay 'tuned' chip'. I agree with sarge, get a datalogit and wideband and knock sensing kit and tune ur car yourself ONLY if u understand mechanically how things work inside an engine, this setup will cost more than $1,000 by the time u buy it all, then there's the danger of roadtuning, or the added cost of hiring a dyno. BSA seems to be the only one here who has actually tried one so he would be best to listen too, he installed it then removed it once he saw the tune
  23. I always save the tune before starting just incase. But for some reason it must have corrupted the file, honestly i cant understand it. Have u started ur car since unlocking it?
