tas Brembos complete package
«Cyph3r» replied to NISSANGTS's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Just adding/confirming some info for interested buyers. These are z33/350z as the 370z/z34 came with Akebono calipers. The front calipers will bolt straight onto any r34. For an R33/R32/S chassis/Z32 you would need to either drill the knuckles from 12mm to 14mm to fit the bolts required for the calipers, or install a thread insert into the calipers to change them to M12 thread as per the factory calipers. Discs will also work on the front with no issue. In the rear the Z calipers are significantly different bolt spacing. The PCD seems pretty close as does the offset. A mate has made them fit on his 32 gtst but it will require cutting the knuckles and access to a competent structural welder. Also it's not really suggested for a car that sees street use. -

It would be hard to beat rfactor for sheer number. If you can get past the ageing graphics its still one of the best sims, especially with the realfeel FFB plugin.

Benchmark ran nicely on my build. Gameplay is very poor though, doesn't feel smooth at all and and I need to have setting very low for the build I have. Most other AAA titles run High to Ultra detail 2560x1600 at 60fps+ Terrible port, very inefficient or poorly optimized.

Some of you may have heard of this game. Made by a lot of the developers involved in the original G.T.R. games. Anyway, it has always been free to play on Steam with purchased content, i.e. extra cars and tracks are bought similar to iRacing, but you own them and don't need to pay an ongoing subscription fee. The base cars and tracks were a bit average to me but some of the paid content is brilliant. Here's a clip of some racing: http://youtu.be/2OvX27Exx7o And here is the homepage: http://game.raceroom.com/ The game is approx 16gb on my drive, can't recall the download size.

Did a few career rounds myself the other day, required a few clutch kicks at Snetterton out of some of the tighter corners

Need For Speed Underground 3 - Ea Release May 21 2015
«Cyph3r» replied to Lolrick's topic in PC & Games Discussion
Surprised they didn't invite the downshift clowns as well! -
Assetto Corsa has mods you can add to the game for extra tracks and vehicles. The community has made some import cars such as s13 silvia, 180sx type x, r32 skyline, honda nsx, nissan s15, mazda fc3s rx7, and a nissan 240sx. There is also a few australian tracks now such as eastern creek, surfers paradise street circuit, adelaide street circuit & barbagallo raceway.

Just bought Assetto and the DLC pack for under $50AUD on the steam sale. Had played it before in the release state (prior to the big patches) and wasn't overly impressed but I turned a few laps at Mugello today in some GT cars and wow! I like the feeling you get through the wheel a lot more than Project Cars! It's obviously not as pretty in some regards as pCARS. I think both have their strengths and weaknesses.

Have been doing a bit lately. Mainly Project CARS as the AI is very ordinary and drives too dirty to have a clean challenging race. Would like to get into RaceRoom Race Experience but haven't bought any content for it yet, AI seems good enough for a challenge as well. Reminds me a lot of GTR and GTR2, I guess that's to be expected seeing as Simbin have had a hand in it's development. Have rFactor 2, not finding it as exciting to get into as the original was though so haven't really been able to get into it. Maybe I just need to find some good cars to run in game Waiting for Assetto Corsa to come on sale on steam and I'll grab it as well. Keen to get back into iRacing again as they have recently updated tyre models so apparently it's a little easier to recover from moments. I'm yet to get as much feedback from the track through the wheel from another game yet. Safety rating system went a fair way to stopping people from acting out when they have a spin or from driving Gran Turismo style, although private servers do that as well I guess once you find a good bunch to race with.

Manual Cpu Voltage Power Consumption ?
«Cyph3r» replied to Deza3000's topic in PC & Games Discussion
Anything under 1.3V is considered safe for regular use of an i7. The stock voltage of one of the 4790K variants is actually 1.273V @ default clocks. 1.28V is good (lower than average voltage) for a stable 4.7ghz OC on the 4790K. You can expect a higher power draw at overclock than stock, but maybe not as much as you would expect. Taken from Anandtech (http://www.anandtech.com/show/8227/devils-canyon-review-intel-core-i7-4790k-and-i5-4690k/2) -
Have heard that they recently redid the tyre physics model in iRacing, has anyone noticed the slides more controllable and easier to catch in recent updates? I am thinking about getting back into it and renewing my subscription once I get a new wheel and setup (my g25 died a few weeks ago). Out of curiosity what hardware are you guys running (wheel, pedals, shifter, button boxes etc)?

Alcon Brake Upgrade Group Buy
«Cyph3r» replied to itsmeyo's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I dare say that would be a question best asked to Brakes Direct. From the pictures posted it looks like they CNC their own hats and brackets. At a guess the Alcon rotors would be semi or full floating so better for serious track cars that experience quite high brake temps but probably a bit of overkill (and higher expense) for a street driven car that sees a few track days a year. -
Alcon Brake Upgrade Group Buy
«Cyph3r» replied to itsmeyo's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Caliper picture and details for the motorsport model. Sounds like an awesome deal for anyone looking for an upgrade. I already have R34 Brembo 4 pots on my S14 and a pair of AP Racing 4 pots sitting around and am tempted to grab the 365mm kit! -
Desmond Regamasters 17" With Tyres
«Cyph3r» replied to boo5td6's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sorry but the solution is not quite that simple. A particular offset does not mean the wheel will have the same track across all rim widths. To have an 8" +35 and a 9" +38 sit the same track wise, you would need to use 9.5mm spacers with the 8" rims. Then you have the issue with a 255 providing more rotational grip than a 235 which I believe isn't good for the attesa system. On top of this you have the rolling diameter variances between the two different sized tyres, which could, via the difference in wheel speed sensors readings, make the car think it is constantly losing grip either through the front or rear depending on what these differences are. In saying that, these are very light wheels and I have a set myself (albeit a square set) and they are discontinued and a lot rarer than some of the other wheels out there these days. They would be suited to an s chassis or rwd r chassis owner wanting to run big rubber without risk of guard fouling. Good luck with the sale. -
FREIGHT F.A.Q AND RECOMMENDATIONS
«Cyph3r» replied to Gary2's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hi All, Just wanted to share a bad experience regarding couriers in the hopes of helping someone else avoid the same drama. Last week I sold some wheels to a fellow in NSW. He asked if I could have them to him before Thursday 12th March so he could use them for an event. He needed to fit up drag radials and roll his guards as well so I wanted to make sure they turned up with time for all this to happen. I have been using Transdirect to book freight lately and had sent two recent packages with Couriers Please without drama. They arrived within two working days of being sent, Sunshine Coast, QLD to Sydney. This time, as Couriers Please didn't offer adequate insurance cover, I decided to go with the more expensive TNT road express with a select-able insured value. Item was booked in on Morning of 4/3/2015 for pickup. Estimated delivery time was the 5/3/2015 Picked up by a local fellow that afternoon which was great. Helped him load them up. 5/3/2015 no activity on tracking. 6/3/2015 they were sent out for delivery, courier ran out of time apparently and they went back to the depot. Weekend Weekend 9/3/2015 they sat in the depot all day, no scan activity, didn't get sent out. Myself and the buyer both called TNT at this point. I was brushed off and told they should go out the next day. Buyer was told they must have forgotten them at the depot and someone will send them out tomorrow. 10/3/2015 sent out for delivery, driver dropped off a card and didn't deliver wheels. Now this is when I became dissatisfied enough to write up this post. At the time of booking there was an option to authorise the driver to leave the items if premises are unattended at a certain location. The consignment note read verbatim; Special Instructions: Authority to leave at back door;Side gate is open Despite this they were not left. I contacted TNT once again to arrange re-delivery. I asked that they do so at no expense to myself or the buyer due to the stuff around, and the fact they ignored clear instructions. The first excuse was they only had "side gate is open" on their con note. I explained that I am looking at the con note I printed out and fixed to all four packages and it reads: Authority to leave at back door; Side gate is open. They said that's not what they have. I explain that is what the driver will see when he looks at the item he is delivering. Offered to email it to them if they would like to see for themselves. I mention that it was booked through a 3rd party so maybe that is why they can't see it on their computer system? I then get told they haven't heard of the 3rd party and that I need to raise issues with them. Well, if there's one thing I can't stand it's large companies palming off poor service and mistakes onto anyone else they can. Basically asked why they would take money from a 3rd party company for services without first liaising with them about the service they are going to offer. Next excuse was that the packages are 22kg each. I mention that the restriction on weights able to be carried by the driver are 25kg and over, inline with workplace health & safety standards and reiterated that the option for leaving the packages at an unattended premises should never have been offered in the first place if this service is not available, also explain that we are now 3 working days behind the delivery date agreed on at time of purchasing the service. Finally they agree to resend at their expense the next day for delivery on the condition that the buyer is at home (how generous). So now on 11/3/2015 the item has finally been delivered. All I can say is avoid TNT if possible as this whole experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth and after reading on some other forums, it seems this is not uncommon for the company. -
Price drop!! $2500 byo battery. I found some pics of when I was doing the timing belt kit, water pump and seals. No shots of the rocker cover gaskets or cam seals but they were done at the same time and I do have receipts for the parts. The first time I did the crank seal I used a non genuine seal and it leaked so I have replaced it with a genuine Nissan seal which has fixed the problem. The engine has no leaks whatsoever now.
