Weight Reduction in 32 GTR
«Cyph3r» replied to «Cyph3r»'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sydneykid, do you get your titanium exhausts made in australia or get japanese made ones? I was looking at getting a section welded ti cat back brought in but if i can get one made of same quality here i would do that. -
they look dodgy in photos but in person look much better
-
Isn't that boost pushing it a bit hard? Mums GTR on stock boost with hks dumps and sub-zero exhaust(front pipes back) made over 300awhp. Thing that annoyed me was she was pulling on my 380rwhp gts-t consistently

rb26 engines i have seen for around 4k. i have been told for a bare motor u might be able to get one for 2->2.5k???(no turbos, manifolds, wiring etc) an rb30 bottom end would be a cheaper option and give more torque but rev not as high without some crank work afaik. Rebuilds all depend on what parts and how far you want to go. Best bet would be to call up some workshops and tell them what power your chasing and get them to recommend what parts will suit and price it'll be.

Guessing they'll look similair to these

yeah for normal street rubber even in rwd's burnouts are just for show, and the only purpose is to clean crap off the tyres. Unless you are running semi slicks, nittos or slicks a burnout is not needed.

Weight Reduction in 32 GTR

Will have a closer look but there is a sticker over where the assembly normally is. Wasn't the rear wiper an option though or not? -
Weight Reduction in 32 GTR

Sydneykid.... reread through the translation... seems the other system was in fact ti and not ss, my mistake. So given the weight saving ti cat back is def worth it. I also allready have all aluminium radiator and piping etc.... I will look into legalities of removing retractable seatbelts and running only harnesses up front in qld... rear belts have allready been removed as have the rear wiper and wiper motor assembly. What are the NVH weights that were mentioned earlier in the thread? Cheers Tony... will let you know if i'm after any trims redone in cf or panels. Thanks everyone for the ideas so far. -
yeah. i will want to be there when they open the container... will make the drive down to ensure everything is intact and as you are doing.... taking lots of photos. Hopefully they'll be able to give me a date to come down and open it. Might be able to meet up with you down there when it arrives, wouldn't mind getting a look at the cefiro.

Weight Reduction in 32 GTR
«Cyph3r» replied to «Cyph3r»'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sorry should have let people know whats allready gone. Aircon has been removed ABS has been removed Carpet has been removed Sound Deadening has been removed Rear Seats and trim have been removed from centre pillars back Boot is completely stripped Drivers seat is changed allready but passenger side is stock gtr Lightweight wheels Lightweight coilovers No stereo although will probably have an easily removable one put in I have a<2kg titanium front pipe on the way (why i was looking at ti cat back aswell) And i am underweight as well Battery is downsized and relocated Don't really want to go as far as removing loom and getting a new one made up though.... i never reallly thought that the wiring alone would weigh that much. Also thought about carbon fibre bonnet (a proper dry carbon one, not just frp bonnet with cf skin but are they really that much lighter then the aluminium one and where can you get them from? -
Hi, Basically looking towards ways of removing weight from a 32 gtr. I had a couple of things planned but am open to any comments/suggestions about cutting down the weight of the car. 1. Was looking at removing hicas system completely if possible. I read in another thread somewhere "sydneykid" mentioned by removing all the hicas related parts you can save up to 20kg i think. Anyone seen any list of parts needed to do so or a tutorial on what to remove and where? 2. Titanium cat-back exhaust system. Is this going to make a worthwhile difference. The system i was looking at is custom made and section welded and the ss version weighed only 6kg so the ti system i would guess would weigh in at ~4kg or less. As these are quite expensive though was just working out whether be better off getting one made in australia or trying to find one 2nd hand over here? 3. Are the standard seats much heavier then say recaro, sparco or bride fibreglass fixed back seats? Most of the other weight savings i can think of are allready done. But still any suggestions would be appreciated. BTW this will not be a daily driver so all the creature comforts are not looking to be retained. Cheers Jamie

JZX100 Chaser MarkII Compliance?
«Cyph3r» replied to IOWNU's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
just b4 raws came in i paid $5000 to have my jzx90 complied under SEVS and that wasn't with tyres. DRIFTT i got 226rwkw on 12psi out of my manual 90 with a few mods. Power wise the mods are: Power FC Cat back exhaust High flowed steel wheel turbos Airpods HKS side mount i/c Blitz dual sbc I am so pissed atm.... payed mid to high 20s for the car as it was and have poured probably easy 15k into it and i haven't had one enquiry about it yet. atm seems i'll be lucky to get even low 30s for it? -
Yep.... everyone calls me nanna :Paranoid: I just ran 1bar all the time and didn't see limiter regularly.... i'm guessing it was just the extra power that killed it :warning: I feel pretty bad about it happening so soon after you bought it. At least its an excuse to do a 3L or forged bottom end 25 :aroused:
-
Yeah. The bottom end was stock but thats about it. It was making 380hp@wheels on 1 bar @6800rpm so at 1.3bar and 7500rpm it had to be pushing easily in low-mid 400s. Anything over 400 at the wheels is meant to be a matter of time with the stock bottom ends. Just unlucky you didn't get to do some times before it let go :whatsthat

New R32 GTR drag car
«Cyph3r» replied to Dahtone Racing's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
What type of box is he going to be running? Is he going airshifted (gforce) or other? I'm guessing other by the number of levers in there :whatsthat -
Done this before.... 1st time was piss when we didn't change the clutch. As soon as you move the clutch plates and have to realign them and its multi plates it gets tricky.....esp when ur doing it on the ground. We had trouble getting the spline to go through the plates as we could'nt get the angle right.... got the old man to come up and help and went through 1st go

Good to see a dedicated 32 drag car rather then the 33's. Looks mean... minus the prelude wheels
