Hi boys and girls, Just wondering whether these air/fuel ratios on my dyno printout are anything to worry about. Car is RB25det engined 33 with hks 3037s turbo, hks 264deg cams standard internals, running on 98 octane pump fuel. Sorry about the blurry photo of the dyno sheet. Cheers Jamie :nowigetit

thanks crazyman ..... btw i meant 2nd cylinder back from the front of the engine bay. Also the engine oil was unburnt when i pulled the plug. The car had been not run for a week. Jamie

Hi, I think my 1JZ needs rebuild? 2day i pulled all the plugs on my toyota and noticed when removing the plug for cylinder 2 (2nd from the back) it had a coat of engine oil on it So it seems things just keep getting better. I am going to do a compression test to check all cylinders properly but at this stage looks like i'm up for a rebuild. I am leaning towards waiting till i can afford a set of forged pistons and rods etc.... does anyone think i should bother or just replace the rings as long as the rest of the internals are fine. Or could it just be a valve stem seal. It doesn't use much oil and only blows black smoke. Also is there anyway to tell whether it would be valve seal or piston ring? THanks everyone Jamie

yeah . i'll do that now that the local bp finally has ultimate... used to have to drive 1/2 hr to get it I think somehow though the power fc must have reset or a sensor is not working properly or wire came detcatched or even fuel not burning properly purlely because i don't understand how the different fuel could make that bigger difference

Hi, I had my car with a power fc tuned in sydney by a very reputable tuner about 4 months ago. Since then only mods have been a power fc hand controller and tacho. I have noticed recently that when i rev the car to 6k or so and then back off the car doesn't just blow smoke for a sec but has black smoke coming out the exhuast for a while afterwards! The car was tuned with bp ultimate in sydney and i am in qld and have been using optimax and ultimate and have noticed it doing this when running optimax but haven't checked when using ultimate. Does this sound like a bad tune to you as they spent ages doing it and didn't seem to blow much smoke on the dyno... only for a sec when they backed off. Anyone know what could be causing this??? Perhaps wire from ecu has come loose or somehow power fc reset or something? I have had battery disconnected for ages since tune like a week or so but this shouldn';t affect it. Thanks Jamie

I have got HKS Triple plate in my gts-t and must say they are quite a bit of overkill for a gts-t unless you're doing a lot of drag racing. Also the triple plates tend to have a lot smaller amount of pedal movement between being disengaged->slipping->fully engaged. Gearshifts are a hell of a lot quicker with the triple plate though. I think the HKS kit cam with fork and thrust bearing and rose bearing. I would definately recommend upgrading the clutch fork though if it didn't come with one as the triple plate is a lot heavier than the standard clutch. Jamie

Hi, Just thinking about buying an aftermarket bov but want a plum back one. My sisters 32 has one that's plumb back and sounds really good and is pretty loud from outside the car. Just wondering if anyone knows what types are available. I was thinking about plumbing a TRUST Type R BOV back in as i know these are good and work well. Anyone down this b4 and would it make any performance diff at all and do u think it would be much louder? Where would you all suggest plumbing it back in? It's for my 1JZ Toyota not my Skyline so any suggestions / help would be appreciated. Thanks Jamie

also do these guages have the two circles for the peak and warning lights or is it the new ones that have one irregular shape with the two lights in it? Just asking cos i have oil press./temp and water temp ones allready and am after exhaust temp if it will match in with these and work with my control unit. THanks Jamie

I got trust plenum and lost washer bottle. Perhaps you could even go to wreckers or something and look for a smaller one off a diff car or even use a radiator overflow bottle, think it would fit?

Hi, Just quick q. Does the power fc save settings so when battery is disconnected do any settings get lost? Also does blitz boost controller lose any settings? Anyone know how to recalibrate etc if needs it? I am pretty sure it saves them but just making sure.

Ok sorry 4 taking so long to uipdate this. Turns out the car would start again when lef 4 a while. Apparently the hicas computer in the boot was very hot. Anyone know if any of the computers have a thermal protection function or something?

Hi matt, they car hasn't been tuned so unsure about power figures. It is running very rich though so i would say power figure would be well below it's potential (roughly as estimate porbably only 240rwkw or so atm). Yeah i live around noosa. Jamie
