Saw a white 33 GTR V-Spec on Work VS-XX rims at BP servo in Kedron. Was a bit surprised to see a cute young girl hop out....

Guys, need this gone in two weekends time as I'm moving. (20th March) If its not gone by then it will be lent to a mate or taken to my olds for free storage which means it will be up in noosa. Open to offers, obviously nothing silly. Spent a few mins the other night with a scourer pad and all the surface rust was coming off with that. If the buyer wants to spend an hour or so on it it would be in mint condition.

Cam Choice For A Track Orientated R32
«Cyph3r» replied to «Cyph3r»'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nice power curve..... haven't seen many builds with GT blocks! I'd say my mate will be pretty happy if he can get similair figures to yours. How extensive was the head porting you had done? Thanks everyone for the input. -

Hi all, Just having a bit of a discussion with a mate atm who is having trouble deciding what size cams to use in his current engine build. Basic rundown of specs: Tomei RB28 HKS GT-RS 1mm Oversize valves CNC porting of head He is intending on using the car primarily for track days at QR and Lakeside, with the odd hillclimb included. Trying to decide between: Tomei 270deg in/ex 10.2mm lift Tomei 270deg in/ex 10.8mm lift Tomei 280deg in/ex 10.8mm lift Tomei 280deg in/ex 11.5mm lift He is aware that the GT-RS would probably be better replaced by some -5's for response, but they were on the car when purchased and can be changed relatively easily down the track if the 2.8L capacity doesn't help enough. Another thing that should probably be noted is that the car is a gts-t, so the less peaky the power delivery is the better. Peak power is not the goal for the build, but in saying that, the owner does not want to have a car that feels "flat" in the top end. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Turbo Choice - Amateur Track Setup
«Cyph3r» replied to Redsuns88's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
If you have a tuner in mind, I would ask them what ebc they find the best to work with. In my case I went with the latest HKS EVC (5 or 6 depending on the shop). This worked very well on my car with the mods I had, however a mate running one on his stock 34 has had some issues. Heard stories about the pfc one not working that well but then other people say its brilliant. Also ran defis in mine and same combo as you plan to. Never had a problem and they are very easy to read in all conditions. There is an option to change the brightness for both when the lights are on and when they are off. Handy feature as opposed to just bright or brighter. -
Turbo Choice - Amateur Track Setup

I had one of these on my s15. This is basically a garrett version of the HKS GT-RS. With HKS cams (256deg in & ex), a power fc and all the usual bolt on bits and pieces it was really nice to drive on both the track and the street. It felt like it was maybe ever-so-slightly laggier than the standard turbo but once it came on it felt like it had a massive gain in midrange and pulled almost all the way to 7k. (this was even running a lower boost setting than i was with the standard turbo) I was very happy with the choice for a street driven car that was occasionally taken to the track and the response was amazing. Would def recommend rocker stoppers and headwork if you can afford it. You can get away without cam gears usually as most people have them dialled to zero anyway and for the cost of buying these and the time taken to play around with them, there is a lot more value for money to be had elsewhere. ECU, FMIC, EBC, Oil cooler, 044, Injectors, Rocker Stoppers, 3" TBE with high flow ceramic cat would be the minimum I'd recommend. I'd suggest an ECU at the same time as injectors and turbo upgrade. -
Guessing the 3ltr was in for superlap? Sounds quieter than a 26 in that vid. What block did you guys end up using, just a run of the mill nissan item, one of the 4wd blocks rips sells, or some other variant? Impressive steering in the in-car vid too Looks like it will scare some of the american/japanese workshop built cars once the attessa is sorted!

Its all about buying turbo cars to cut laps, who cares about what time you lap any race tracks, the real cred is in how slow you can lap hatos/mooloolaba espy/cavill ave/etc

If you have no centre muffler, i would recommend putting one in, i had really bad drone in one of cars, so i had a large centre muffler put in, this got rid of all the drone but didn't lose the exhaust note.
-
First thing, system looks great, i really like the lack of a cannon or straight pipe. Secondly, i think this mainly applies to rb26s as i have heard many rb25s making in the 300-350rwkw bracket and remaining quiet without drone, i think quite a few jap systems with centre mufflers seem to work ok on the 25 (apexi is one). Regarding the cat: Fwiw i had a metal core magnaflow cat in my s15, the insides let go on the track and blocked my muffler and caused my turbo damage when this happened. I contacted magnaflow and they didn't want to know about it, talked about how their products are designed for race cars blah blah pr bullshit, then go on to say if the car is not running a standard ecu its not warranty'd as the afrs could be lean or rich which will void warranty. This is the email they sent me: Funny thing is in the 33 i had ignition cut and a standard jap metal substrate cat (i never knew about ignition cut+cats being a no no back then) and it never failed after much limiter bashing. I wouldn't touch magnaflow cats again, inferior quality and not willing to back their products with a worthwhile warranty. Hope their mufflers are of a better quality, although with the design of the mufflers at least no packing can get past the mesh lining the center. Cheers Jamie

haha i like the new directions of this thread maybe nanna couldn't carry enough corner speed in her drift as that seems to be a common problem with fwd drifters?
-
reckon they'll have a big sale? could be some nice bits and pieces sold off if so
-
because the media is the media and he was driving a turbo import, whether he was in the wrong or not is irrelevant. geez.
-
So a young person in a japanese high performance car has an accident and isn't labeled a hoon by the media or accused of racing? I'm confused

Did anyone else just get a mad erection or is it just me. This just finished me off.
