  2. hi guys i recently put a rb25det turbo on my rb20det motor i fired it up and it idles fine, temps fine etc but when i give it a slight rev it makes a loud screeching noise coming directly from the turbo and at higher revs it's even louder im not impressed i spent 2 and half days putting it on and its come to this, could it be a lack of oil to the turbo or so? i had it running for a good 10 minutes and temp was half way as per normal driving.. does neone know what the problem is?
  3. hehe ok thanks guys im going to be firing it up shortly

  7. also when i check for shaft play of the turbo, it doesn't move very much just minimal, but when i turn it so it moves, it makes a small grinding noise, and doesnt spin freely as my rb20 one did... is this normal?
  8. im just a bit worried thats all i guess i could resell it if its f**ked for highflow or something but the motor it came from was a popped 25 with rooted ringlands would this affect the performance of the turbo in any way?
  9. hi guys i purchased a rb25det 45v3 turbo from my mate and i was installing it today when pulling the elbow off it i noticed oil inside so i cleaned it up, and there is a bit of oil near the turbo fins should i be worried about something here? i wiped it all down and just put the turbo on my car a few hours ago but im yet to start it and i have to finish doing the rest of the lines there was quite a bit of oil in the elbow leading to the inside.. anyone seen anything like this?

  12. i'm not a "learning" drifter for your information i've just been told heaps of the "drifters" use it and rape their cars and have no problems i'm just worried that when i change it, it still could have dirty oil floating around somewhere and not getting flushed out properly when i check my dipstick the bottom tip looks filthy black and the rest is gold through the crossed bit till the top when it indicates it is full. should i be worried about the tip of the dipstick where it is pure black is the question.
  13. Hi guys I got a rb20det r32 and I recently did an oil change to penrite HPR 15w60 which has been recommended by alot of the drifters here in my state, and my question is that I recently did it less than 300km ago and I check my dipstick and its gold all through it until the bottom of the dipstick where it is pure black.. When changing the oil I check the dipstick and it is clear and gold but there is a little bit at the bottom aswell now its just gone a bit higher. Is this something to worry about? Obviously there is still some dirty oil in motor/sump, but I made sure when I drained the oil that it was warm and also I jacked the car up from different angles so it will all pour out from the sump so there was nothing left.. Anyone got the same oil levels on their dipsticks? Should I be changing it again in another 5000km and use a different technique to change it? Any recommendations please
  14. thats correct it is i think $5 to spectate aswell dont know, never paid
  15. you shouldnt have any problems just make sure it passes legal height requirement (100mm from lowest point on car) and make sure it's not too loud or get a silencer or replacement exhaust to pass the pits.. you will need a horn to pass aswell when they pass the modifications get permits for them as you dont want to be goin over the pits everytime pick on ya

yes the intercooler sits on an angle, well mine does anyway and everyones i seen it sits on a angle, like the bottom is closer to the car and the top sits further away the brackets at the bottom i got with my intercooler kit, they just need to be screwed to the chassis at the bottom.. and at the top i made a plate both top bolts screw into the fmic and then you get a plate which holds them both togethor, then another one in the middle of the two which can bolt up to a bolt near the bonnet latch you will see it..

yes i have an aftermarket gtr front bumper and i had to trim it for the piping to fit and the only hole needs to be cut is under the battery , you can see an imprint of a 3" hole just use that as a guide i cut that hole bit out and on the other side where it used to have 2 pipes going to the stock intercooler i cut that bit open so its nice and wide and you can manouver the pipes

    Turbo

didnt even touch my horn all was left in its current position, although it is touching the back of the fmic now. and i have stock bov so that piping stays (from the plenum)

do the piping first then line up where the cooler would sit then put some bricks underneath it and then connect the other side of the piping so make sure it all lines up before you drill holes for the two brackets underneath to mount it to the top, i made a plate which goes from one bolt to the other and then a little bracket which goes to the bolt which is near the bonnet latch and the plate holds it all in place with regards to trimming the fan, i found that i didnt need to, the piping which goes inbetween the motor and fan i got it mounted tightly closer to the engine bay and it misses the fan, although i have heard of people letting their piping hit the fan and it will trim itself evenly, saves yourself trimming it unevenly.. but dont quote me there cause mine doesnt hit

mate it's easy to install i did it myself you need to cut a hole under the battery with a holesaw so the piping can be connected thats about it rest should be just like a puzzle
  25. i'm planning to get a r33 s2 turbo and do it as it is a direct bolt on and will give a substantial increase along with fmic, up the psi and will see 180-200kw depending on other mods
