Hi Mate, not 100% what your chasing but may be useful. My Rb30 with a neo head, standard OEM gasket and ACL 8.5:1 pistons was between 145 to 155psi.
-
Hey Chuckie, since I have wrecked another motor. What do you think S&N would charge to do a light touch up on the exhaust ports?
-
Hey Hanaldo, You have had the same problems as me. I was constantly trying to figure why my car never made as much power as the cars over east. I would love to see my car run up on 1 of the dyno's from east and then drop it straight on to hyperdrive's and see the real difference. In the end don't get too hung up on the power figure, as thats all it is. I know of a 33 with a genuwine Garret 3071 that struggled to crack 300hp on hyperdrives dyno. So i'm stoked with my Rb3025 with 1 of Stao's 3576's that only makes 370hp and it goes like freight train.

Umm I beg to differ, I had a small issue with flames.

Neo Rb25/30 Harmonic Balancer
urtwhistle replied to urtwhistle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey Bubba, I was thinking along the same thoughts as well. Why would nissan list a diff part number for R33 and R34 Rb25's. soooo I went a brand new OEM 1 for $300 just to avoid all the grief of it not fitting. -
just don't lower it to the point that your front right tire rubs on the plastic inner. why you ask? because the main wiring loom is just under it and when you rub through it your whole wiring loom catchs fire. just a little hint for ya!!!!!

Neo Rb25/30 Harmonic Balancer

I will if all the belts line up. I currently have the old Neo 1 on my Rb3025. -
Hi every 1, as the title suggests I'm trying to find out some info so that I can decide on which harmonic balancer to get. The problem is that I can't seem to find any thing other then OEM harmonic balancers to suit a NEO Rb25. From what I can see ROSS, ATI or ATOMIC all advertise that they make them for R33 Rb25 or simply only state RB25. To my knowledge R33 and R34 Rb25 balancers are different. What is every 1 else using? Stock? regards Chris

Ideas How To Get The Crank Pulley Off Now?
urtwhistle replied to boostn0199's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
or you could make a puller like I had to. 65MM x 8MM mild steel flat bar with a M12 nut welded to it. works a treat. (as long you remember to loosen the balancer bolt prior or you bend it like I did lol) and another thing I found after wrecking 3 front main seals. A 32mm to 1 1/4" pvc fitting is the perfect size for fitting cam or front main seals. As the inside bore of the threaded section is only slightly bigger then the OD of the crank you can use the crank bolt to push the seal on perfectly square. Lastly another little trick was to use a strip of laminating plastic to put around the crank slide the seal on over it then remove the plastic. this stops the seal folding over it self (I did this 3 times) Chris -
What Tailshaft Are You Running
urtwhistle replied to CeJay's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hey Jiffo, unfortunatly I never took any photo's of the shaft when it sheered all the uni's. I know exactly what your saying, yes the shaft was the peened style and machined the yoke to suit the circlip style. when it failed, none of the actual yokes broke, it sheered the actualle centres out of all of them. I would have though that machining the yokes would have caused them to be weaker and snap there first but it didn't. Chris -
What Tailshaft Are You Running
urtwhistle replied to CeJay's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
About 6 months ago I got my 2 peice rebuilt from my 300rwkw R34. 1st drive I popped the clutch at about 4k RPM in 1st and blew 3 uni joints to peice's. I then returned said tail shaft and it was then forwared onto spicer, who refused to warrant the parts as they beleived I had either put huge power or locked the shaft some how. My question was, "how would you suggest a way that I could snap all 3 uni's in 1 go with out smashing out the bottom of my car?" they couldn't answer me. Luckily the workshop that built it for me where as confused as I was and met me half way with building a complete new 1 peice shaft. A 1 peice shaft deffinitly transmit alot more vibration into the car but from what I can tell should almost be indestructable as it's much bulkier then original. regards Chris -
Hey Worped, I understand how a hydraulic handbreak works in principal. But how is he going to connect the hand break up to the new master cylinder that he's fabricated?
-
thats nice, scuse my ignorance, but do you then run the cable from the hand break forward instead and it pulls on the pivot rod? this is the exact reason why I'm trying to convince my boss that HE needs a 3 axis mill........ So I can come in on weekends and play.

I found a 4mm hole in my intercooler from when the intercooler intercooler was installed. it was tuned with the hole, then now that it's fixed it runs like a POS. so yes a small hole will make a huge difference.

Hey Rockabilly, I was that young Aussy guy that came up to you and asked if you spoke english after seeing the RB30 badge on your R33. I was with you watching the enduro race and was acting like a kid in a candy store.. What times did you end up getting??? the aston did a slow 11min lap cos the track was soo busy and people kept hitting the barriers. regards Chris

I would be inclined to think that if your using but welds, I'd use the biggest I could physically get in there to make up for the poor flow you will get from using 90 deg bends.
-
All I can say is that if it is closed, That I'm soooo happy I got to go around it last year in an Aston martin DB9. It would be a true shame if it was closed, it is a spectacular facility. I think if any thing it would just be sold off to another private company, I wonder if they would then split up the sale of the Nordschleife from the GP track . Where would they move the German F1 round to?
