  1. I have a 3" cat back and a K & N high flow filter (not pod) and I get the odd backfire. When I go up a hill in low gear and change at the peak it'll pop. But when I drive anywhere else even under hard acceleration it won't do it. This all started when I put the exhaust in. Oh yeah I still get 400-450 k's a tank (BP Ultimate).
  2. I agree there. My Fujitsubo Power Getter is not too loud for an exhaust with 3" pipes and a 4 1/2" tip.
  3. I just got a Fujitsubo Power Getter (3" pipes) it's not too loud (although I love loud exhausts) but depending on how I drive it the noise varies. If I take off slowly and change gears early it is quiet. If I punch it, the noise peaks at about 2500-3000rpm then drops off again. When freeway driving there is no drone. It also depends on the res and muffler (and the tip). I though the Hi-Tech stuff was supposed to be quiet (and legal)
  4. A year this month...
  5. Hippy, I'll measure the box tonight but they will be only basic dimensions. It is quite easy to make a template with cardboard and a good way to start is to pull out the bottom carpet which is perfect to use as a stencil for the bottom of the box. As for holding the box in place, there is nothing holding it. I made it a very tight squeeze (I can't even get it out!) but with a thin metal cable connected to the metal on the side in case it moves.
  6. Totally agree with you on that one. A mate of mine got JB to install his head unit. When I did some work on his car I found the the wires had been twisted and taped instead of soldered or joined with proper connectors. I had to rewire his head unit...
  7. Nah I think it was a truck I wonder how you would power such a thing
  8. You'll blow the boot off with a sub that big I think Clarion used to have a 30" monster
  9. You could easily make a box that big and still save a sh!tload of boot space
  10. I haven't had any experience with focal but from what I hear they're good. What box volume do you need for a 13"?
  11. Rattles the number plates (back and front) and at a 1/4 of my system's volume it gives me a headache Nice and loud
  12. A 12"?!?! I'm only running that 10" and I can't see out of my mirrors anymore
  13. Nice install!
  14. Thanks I know I need another one but icbf making another box! And I'm out of $$$ ( ), getting a new exhaust fitted tomorrow...
  15. The volume is 0.80 of a cubic foot. I used cardboard to get the shapes, traced 'em out and jigsawed it.
  16. Heres a few more... Finally...
  17. Heres a few more...
  18. Heres a few more...
  19. And another...
  20. I finally finished my install last night! The carpet colour is different from the stock carpet but I am happy with the results... Here is the first pic...
  21. Good job! I could not match the carpet colour in my boot so I had to use a darker carpet, it still looks ok though. Whoever had my car before me butchered the back wall.
  22. Hehe... If all goes well I might be finished today (after work ) It's looking ok so far, it fits nicely and there is plenty of room left in the boot. Best of all I can still get the spare out. I also remade the panel at the back of the boot (the one that hides the battery) with a stronger one to mount the amp, fuse holder and cap (this will be modded again later to mount my stacker).
  23. I am currently making a box to fit into the left hand side of the boot (for a 10" sub). I'll let you know if it is a success or dismall failure. Should be finished this week. I'll post a pic or 2 if it works out. Bitch of a job though...
  24. I just got a K&N replacement not bad... Paid $100 for it... It is the same as a *gasp* Commonwhore one...
  25. I took mine off on the weekend and just tightened it (not too much) to put it back.
