  1. Yeah, we need a good indication of numbers. By the thread now, it looks like 8 people and Joel (Cubes) will be there too. So come on guys! Madaz: Cheers heaps for organizing BBQ, I'm utterly hopeless at that sorta stuff, and the lack of time thing. If you want, I can go grab a slab of cans of coke and an esky on the way? Figure I should probably try do something for what I'm organising...
  2. Argh! But so little time to do things! Last 2 weeks of uni will do that to you...
  3. Yeah, I would still head out, just wouldn't be driving As for BBQ, well, umm... I'm really not sure how to go about it!
  4. Yeah, I'm always keen to meet people I'm not sure that I'll be driving at this one anymore, all didn't go as planned over the weekend and now have to spend another weekend pulling things apart So would be cutting it damn tight to get out there driving... Will give it my best shot though!
  5. Well I just did the conversion and yeah, as Simon said, the gearbox crossmember lines straight up to the factory holes. Mine was originally an auto, and I dont know what cross member I'm using... Didn't line up with the RB20 gearbox though. Engine is ~30mm lower and have had no issues with the box fouling on the tunnel or anything like that.
  6. RB25 elbow fits VG30 comp cover. I'm not sure if RB25 comp cover would swap over though as RB25 turbo has a bigger compressor.
  7. They're the same shocks as the groupbuy, but have been revalved to suit the higher rates (well that's what mine are anyway) I've had no problems with springs being untrapped at full droop on the front though? Running 350mm ride height, the springs have about 20mm preload on them... I do need longer helpers on the rear though, running 340mm ride height, the springs are untrapped by about 10mm, this is with 60mm helpers. 7/5 kg/mm springs too.
  8. I'm sure we can arrange another one and actually organise it better too I'm definitely going out to this one though as there only two other scheduled days (10th and 16th of Nov) for the rest of the year and I cant make either of them (exams on both days). Unless people wanted to do the same thing for a drift practice? I didn't think that would work as well though, as not that many SAUers seem to be interested in drift, the environment isn't as friendly as a circuit day (in my opinion) and entry is not free for spectators. But if anyone is keen on that idea, the daytime drift prac is on Dec 9th. Should be similar times, but different format obviously.
  9. Hi all, anyway, this is a continuation of the SAU SA club thread sorta. My idea was that we should all head out to an open track day (no drift) at Mallala to see what sort of a turn out we get there so we can hopefully get this club started. Sorry for the short notice, but I kept forgetting about it and have been really busy with uni lately... Anyway, finer details were requested, so here they are: Gates open at about 8:30 and then driving starts at 10am. All drivers must sign on first so if you want to go out straight away, it's probably a good idea to get there before 10. Driving finishes around 4pm. All drivers are divided into groups and then groups are run in 15 mins sessions. For those not interested in driving on the day, entry is free and I think it would be a good opportunity to socialise the SAU people from SA. For those wanting to drive, Taken from http://mallala.com/practicedays.htmYou do NOT require a fire extinguisher, battery triangle, or secondary bonnet latch, but the fire extinguisher is a good idea to have in the car. You can drive as hard or as soft as you want. It is not a race and "racing" is not allowed on the track, overtaking is only allowed down the straights, so you dont have to worry about not being up with the pace. If you're going to be driving hard, make sure that your brakes and cooling system are up to scratch. If they're not, make sure you know when you slow down for a while Madaz is organizing the BBQ (cheers mate ) and drinks. We just request that everyone bring a maximum of $10 to pay for all the food and drink. Prices should be finalised just before the date. List of people attending so far: salad (driving) Cubes gtrkiet + 2 boostdq Madaz + 1 heslo Luke_ENR34 (might) bezender sinistagtst *flick* Deluxe + 2 SimonR32 skylineguy19 RyanRB25 dnbutts nisskid (driving) darkhorse richo Mobies (driving) + 2 trick + 1 (driving) BOOSTD (driving) nismostu GTR31 (driving) thangLongz + 2 27 spectators 7 drivers According to the poll, there's more drivers, but I'm not sure who they are... If your name's not on the list and you are coming, please tell me and I'll add you to the list. If you're on the list and you're not coming, also tell me, this way we can try get an accurate idea of numbers and plan accordingly, especially for BBQ + drinks. If there are any other questions about the day, feel free to ask, and I'll try answer them as best I can. Cheers Showza
  10. Yeah, engine is going in tomorrow and if nothing else goes wrong (which never happens), it will be running tomorrow. Then tuned during the week and all good to go! Anyway, yeah, I'll start a new thread to try and get some attention to it. I mentioned it on the first page, but I dont think anyone took it seriously, and then I kinda forgot about it... Real busy these days with end of semester and exams coming up
  11. My opinions is, we should all head out to Mallala on Oct 27th for the open practice and see what sort of a turn out we get. It's free entry or $90 for drivers. Could even get a BBQ organized or something if someone wants to volunteer? We could get a proper idea of numbers then and just have a day out with a bit of chatting/socializing going on in a friendly environment
  12. I would say stick the circlip in the bottom groove, put the shocks together and see how it is. If you can get your desired height from that, then you're fine. How low the sleave needs to go depends on your spring rates and dimensions.
  13. I've got this kit for my R32 GTS-t, I got the extra groove machined about 50mm lower. My spring seats sit a bit lower than halfway (so plenty of adjustment to go on both sides) with 7/5 kg/mm 200mm springs. Rears also have helpers. My ride height is 350mm front and 340mm rear.
  14. Congrats on Most Improved Ric and I'm guessing qualified 9th since you raced 8th? As I said before, I'll be tryin to keep up with you when I finally get back out there! I only ever managed 11th... Glad you actually made it there in time to compete seein as scrutineering had already ended and driver's briefing was in 4 mins when you left
  15. Not youtube, but I find it hard to stop watching this video... In cylinder video
  16. I'm fairly sure RB20DET gearbox will NOT bolt onto an SR. Namely all the SR boys that want to upgrade to RB25 gearbox (same bolt up pattern as RB20 box) need to do a bit of work to make them fit. This mostl likely means, custom bellhousing (or at least some work to it), different gearbox x-member, modified tailshaft, new gearbox. The cost starts adding up, just think, is it really worth it? Go buy a shitter for the mean time to drive on the road and drive your car out at the track where it should be driven Then when it's time you get your full licence, you can just register yours and be done with it
  17. Some decent info in there Only thing I spotted wrong from a quick read was about the shim preload. It says shim preload mainly affects low speed, but it actually mainly affects high speed. I'll add them into the original post.
  18. Added R32 RB25DE CAS
  19. Yeah, I'll agree with All Type Crash, good blokes and do a good job Hayden's done a couple of show winning paint jobs, so if that's ya thing, he's good for it
  20. All that and still on street tyres!? Me thinks you're lap time are gonna plummet when you get some good semis
  21. But yours weren't brand new were they?
  22. 1:20 is pretty damn quick mate! What mods have you got if you dont mind me asking? (power, brakes, susp, tyres, etc)
  23. Having four doors really helps for taking rubber out to the track, 4 17x9s with 235-255 rubber fit in the back easily. I can just squeeze 6 in the back if I need to aswell which is pretty much only helpful for drift stuff... Granted with 6 I cant actually see out the back window or see my blind spot, but I make do, and check real carefully before lane changes All the various other junk (jack, stands, tools, fluids, etc) go in the boot. If you're after brand new rims, P1 Buddys can be had fairly cheap these days, one sponsor on NS is doing a set of 17x9 +17 for $1600 Look good, quite light and not overly expensive.
  24. I see ya lips moving Simon, but all I'm hearings is "wah wah wah, my vagina hurts"
  25. I was thinking that, as that's what a lot of other car clubs have done.
