  1. What is the centre of wheel to guard height? Sounds like bump steer, and is usually caused by excessive lowering. 340mm is the best height for handling and comfort. Lower than that you are sacrificing handling and comfort for looks
  2. If that's genuine I'm gonna be spewin cos I just bought brand new T1Rs for $230 in the same size. But the guy just signed up on the 30th of Dec and has no trader info yet... For those interested, I think you should exercise some caution...
  3. There goes all your handling, comfort and the bottom of your car
  4. Hmm, I posted this topic in forced induction a while ago and the conclusion was that R34 had the same compressor as R33 S2. I also had Cubes send me some photos of an R34 turbo and it looked identical to my R33 S2 and everyone is very certain that R34 compressor is nylon like R33 S2. Happy to be corrected if it's not true, but we'll have to pass the message onto a lot of other people too
  5. Alright, water pump, timing belt, thermostat, oil, oil filter, coolant all just done Also lowered the car Rego has just run out, will be re-registering soon
  6. That's exactly right. That's why a lot people have overheating problems after they get an FMIC and/or use their A/C The exit stream from your intercooler is a lot cooler than the exit stream for the radiator as the compressed air is cooler than the coolant. Blah blah blah
  7. Testing to be done on Jan 13th? What sizes did you end up getting?
  8. Nope, R33 S1 has alloy compressor wheel, R33 S2 has nylon and it is the same as the R34 compressor. Blades are oriented the same as the R34 one, same wheel. R33 S1 has blade oriented differently
  9. I'm voting Jeff from The Speed Lab Dr Drift has done mine before, and he does great work. It's just a bit annoying having to wait for him to come here, where as Jeff lives here. I'm getting Jeff to do mine again soon.
  10. Take it to a wheel/tyre shop and they'll get em off for ya. Most places have a special set of sockets called locknut breakers designed to get locknuts off. If you want, bring it to my work and I'll get em off for ya, they're a piece of piss, provided they are an external nut sorthing. Not the ones with the pattern on the inside. I lost my key, using the locknut breakers, I had all of the locknuts off in 5mins
  11. All the R32 onwards turbos are ball bearing. I'm fairly sure the NICS engines have bush bearing and some of the ceffys. R34 has bigger wheels and bigger turbine housing. Compressor of R34 turbo is the same as R33 S2. Fairly sure turbine is the same aswell.
  12. Swaybars/anti-roll bars/stabilizer bars have the sole purpose of resisting roll and do this VERY effectively. Don Juan: I think you are thinking of strut tower braces. You definitely can notice the difference aftermarket swaybars straight away
  13. Oh I must've misread. I swear it said 255? Ohwell, my mistake. I would stick with 225/40 on there. 235 is a bit big, and I dont like it. But Gary likes to get as much rubber as he can on the rim, he puts 245s on 8s. I've got some 17x9 +20 that I've put all round on my car before, they stick out ~20mm, so you need to do a fair bit of guard rolling. It looks damn tough with the offset though, clears all the suspension easily. I had 215s on them at the time though, so I'm not too sure how 255 would go, but I was looking at the edge of the rims. I can send you some pics of how they stick out if you want?
  14. Yep, such a little "mouth". No one wants it! At all!
  15. Too much sidewall flex. And 255/40 is actually illegal on a 17x7.5" rim
  16. That's pretty much right Close to stock rolling diameter and fits on the rim well.
  17. 235/40R18 Kumho's sold pending pickup/payment tomorrow
  18. It is similar to a T28 in size, but it is actually a hybrid turbo made by Hitachi and Nissan.
  19. Sydneykid's Groupbuy I would buy the whole package except the rear strut brace as it does nothing (Sydneykid will tell you this too). You just have to wait for the shocks to come back into stock. If you dont feel like getting everything, at least get swaybars, shocks, springs and castor bushes. Rest of the money can go on exhaust, and front mount, that should have the R34 goin decently
  20. When mine was well and truely stuffed, I could hold one wheel and turn the other when it was off the ground. But that was COMPLETELY buggered. Before that I couldn't do that but on the track I could still feel it open wheel quite a lot, but it wasn't constantly doing it. So I guess it's a bit hard to say. That first method will tell you if it's completely gone though
  21. As far as I know, all turbo skylines have LSDs
  22. Most are well worn now so dont expect too much from them
  23. Nah, but my guards were lipped, and now they're pumped out lots Maybe try another 0.5deg camber or lip your guards Does it rub really badly or just rubbing?
