  1. its like that so that you still have reasonable access to a car to learn on you L's if your parents or whoever only have a high powered vehicle. think about it are you try to hang wheelies in your olds' car when they are sitting beside you
  2. duncan are you saying the 34s have more front torque than the earlier models did if this is the case do they still benefit from one of them dang fangled controller devices :wavey:
  3. the profile eg 45 40 35 or whatever is a percentage of the width of the tyre eg 215 235 265 or whatever therefore you need a smaller profile on the rears if they are wider to keep the wheels a similar size to the fronts
  4. i think they snip the wires on the inside lamps for compliance i am not sure why
  5. do they use gtr's and sti's for their normal cars or are they like their highway patrol type cars
  6. the only thing i am really against is the shopping list down the doors all the other stuff is a matter of each to their own expect the attention of others wanting to race you though
  7. you can get up near 200rwkw out of them n/a it takes some work though forced induction is a different story i know of a few blokes getting 400rwkw out of them. and they could probably get more. mind you it aint cheap to do
  8. try www.fordmods.com but anyway throw in either a wade reground cam or a jim mock motorsport cam have a look at www.jimmockmotorsport.com possibly .au on the end of that but i dont think so jim mock has a range of dev kits which include some head work and so forth mabe a 3.23 or 3.45lsd out of a fairmont or xr aswell also on the fordmods forum you should be able to find ITS performance they would be able to help you out aswell
  9. fro daddy i know the stagea engine is an option. i have been looking around some sites at half cuts and engines and havent found any stagea gear yet (note that i am not in the position to buy yet)
  10. what advantages do they have are they stronger components than rb25 turbo bits
  11. okay so could i pull down both engines and rebuild the turbo engine into the 4wd block
  12. thanks dan ok here is the way i propose to do it when i get around to it firstly i will have an auto coz i cant be ****ed with manuals anymore (living in town makes you lazy) ok anyway i think i would get a neo turbo engine and ecu rip out the n/a swap over the sump etc onto the turbo engine and whack it in throw in the turbo ecu install a front mount, upgraded fuel pump, aftermarket fuel management 3 - 3.5 exhaust system get it tuned have a fun day actually wouldnt even need the turbo engine ecu if i was getting aftermarket would i
  13. alright thanks 666dan hit me with a list
  14. ahh im up for it when funds permit after my baby arrives
  15. you could just get whatever rb25det and swap some parts over though too couldnt you ie keep the original sump and so forth also what about getting an engine only then buying a seperate piggyback computer to run fuel etc. beside the standard ecu. then you will have a reprogramable ecu right from the start aswell
