Skyline R34 GT-T or R33 GT-R
mk_drums replied to alex1991s's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
its like that so that you still have reasonable access to a car to learn on you L's if your parents or whoever only have a high powered vehicle. think about it are you try to hang wheelies in your olds' car when they are sitting beside you -
duncan are you saying the 34s have more front torque than the earlier models did if this is the case do they still benefit from one of them dang fangled controller devices :wavey:

Smaller profile on the rears ?
mk_drums replied to Manwh0re's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
the profile eg 45 40 35 or whatever is a percentage of the width of the tyre eg 215 235 265 or whatever therefore you need a smaller profile on the rears if they are wider to keep the wheels a similar size to the fronts -
R34 Taillights - when braking - help pls
mk_drums replied to latino_90's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i think they snip the wires on the inside lamps for compliance i am not sure why -
do they use gtr's and sti's for their normal cars or are they like their highway patrol type cars
-
the only thing i am really against is the shopping list down the doors all the other stuff is a matter of each to their own expect the attention of others wanting to race you though

Steps to build the ultimate SS Killer in a Ford 6
mk_drums replied to GTS_300_Coupe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
you can get up near 200rwkw out of them n/a it takes some work though forced induction is a different story i know of a few blokes getting 400rwkw out of them. and they could probably get more. mind you it aint cheap to do -

try www.fordmods.com but anyway throw in either a wade reground cam or a jim mock motorsport cam have a look at www.jimmockmotorsport.com possibly .au on the end of that but i dont think so jim mock has a range of dev kits which include some head work and so forth mabe a 3.23 or 3.45lsd out of a fairmont or xr aswell also on the fordmods forum you should be able to find ITS performance they would be able to help you out aswell -
fro daddy i know the stagea engine is an option. i have been looking around some sites at half cuts and engines and havent found any stagea gear yet (note that i am not in the position to buy yet)
-
what advantages do they have are they stronger components than rb25 turbo bits
-
okay so could i pull down both engines and rebuild the turbo engine into the 4wd block
-
thanks dan ok here is the way i propose to do it when i get around to it firstly i will have an auto coz i cant be ****ed with manuals anymore (living in town makes you lazy) ok anyway i think i would get a neo turbo engine and ecu rip out the n/a swap over the sump etc onto the turbo engine and whack it in throw in the turbo ecu install a front mount, upgraded fuel pump, aftermarket fuel management 3 - 3.5 exhaust system get it tuned have a fun day actually wouldnt even need the turbo engine ecu if i was getting aftermarket would i
-
alright thanks 666dan hit me with a list
-
ahh im up for it when funds permit after my baby arrives
-
you could just get whatever rb25det and swap some parts over though too couldnt you ie keep the original sump and so forth also what about getting an engine only then buying a seperate piggyback computer to run fuel etc. beside the standard ecu. then you will have a reprogramable ecu right from the start aswell
-
666 dan, why a stagea cut what advantages is there using it vs. a gtt is it just because they are 4wd aswell?
-
thats right it is just getting all that kind of stuff at once vs. over the course of ownership
-
ahh well all valid points but i will probably still end up doing it anyway :Pimp2:
-
true, but if i was to do it i wouldnt be looking to make a fake gtr i would be aiming more for a 25gtt with the tractability of a 4wd if ya get what i mean. i wouldnt be trying to dress it up as something it aint so in very basic terms i would be getting a 25gt four, banging on a turbo,a few subtle body mods, maybe some gtr seats or a brake upgrade and of ya go. none of these gtr badges or any of that kind of shit
-
sounds promising hey if the topic has been done to death sorry about that i am only a new man to the skyline forums :uh-huh:
-
im pretty sure a 215 slick would have a shit load more grip on the track than a 255 street tyre
-
what do people think of the idea of getting a r34 25gt four and then either dropping in a neo turbo or just adding a turbo to the existing engine a poor mans gtr perhaps?
-
in regards to the r34 tail lights it looks like it would be a straight changeover to me i hope so anyway because i intend to get a r34 4 door in the new year and the coupe lights are a hell of a lot better looking
-
could someone please enlighten me as to how much difference there is beween an R34 auto and manual eg. 0-100 times also i am thinking of buying a r34 4 door turbo automatic. i found some that are under 20,000 landed, complied and on road costs. is that a little cheap or about right? thanks Mark
