some fair points there though, wsid doesnt prep the track for wednesdays so dont expect to run a PB if your making a reasonable amount of power on a wednesday meeting. majority of the time you get 3 qualifiers definate, possibel more if there is time left as per minijam and the last couple of events, even jamboree last year we got 5 runs the first day. you are assured a elimination run, so thats 4 runs definate. if you can race you'll end up racing in the finals which usually take place at night time. at the andra meeting yes there were 2 seconds between 1st and 3rd qualifier, thats why its handicap racing it doesnt matter. some people are always going to have bigger budgets so handicap racin is a must, alternatively if you GTR boys are happy to run RWD mode only i'll go heads up. but hey its S/RWD, you get your own AWD class with SCG championship. minijam showed plenty of good racing in S/RWD and S/AWD with me having to give 4 sec head starts to competitors and run them down on the line, that was good viewing from reports of people in the stands. there is starting to be some pro stock burn downs in these classes now and stagging games, so race craft is starting to happen. the only way to learn race craft is to actually race. the more people that attend the more opportunity there is to try these things paul but if it doesnt show to draw a crowd or competitors as it is, no ideas will get off the ground. i think the kiwi's have good events because people will get off there butts and race, they arent worried about stuffing up in front of mates, they arent worried if cars arent as fast as they'd like, they just want to race and have fun. i think thye understand cars on tracks equals bums on seats equals sponsors pull out the cheque book and they can enhance there car further with the assistance of sponsors. anywho, i'll be glad to see twoogle at the track again, lawsie is running his GTR as well so it looks like there will be a good GTR showing in AWD. its a shame Mark is racing in sport mod and not going at it with theo, that would be interesting viewing. Hi folks i noticed currently there are 42 entries for compak attak at present for an event that is 11 days away. ive started this thread in the hope of motivating a few skylines owners. it was great to see at the last andra event berzerkley bringing 5 or 6 customer cars to compete in SRWD, i hope most of you guys can attend this meeting. i understand some people feel a loyalty to ANDRA but i think peole need to think outside that. currently any event held in queensland is successful, SRWD in queensland never had less then 55 entries. its a shame in NSW we sturggle to get a 16 car field. any one who has an interest in sport compact racing needs to show some support and put a car on the track. if you occassinally race at a wednesday night meeting heres your chance to get introduced to real competition racing. cost is between $80 and $160 depending on whether you have an andra license or not. if you win you get $450, so theres a chance to make profit. you could also end up with a photo in zoom, HPI, fast fours, hot fours magazines. you could end up on one of the DVD's we buy from time to time. you get to meet like minded people and have fun with your buddies. i know some people are scared of racing a faster car, i can tell you being a faster car is more scary as we have to give slower cars almost a half track head start and try and run you down, its harder to be consistant and ultimately win in a faster car than a slower car. a slower car you can just focus on the tree, have your sound sytem going air conditioner going and just cruise through for the same time all day and get to the finals. another good thing you will come away from this is racing experience, you can always learn of other competitors, and hell if adrian (2RISMO) hodgeson can win a championship any one can. so come pone boiys and girls, come have a go, show some support for sport compact drag racing, at this stage it looks like ANDRA and SCG will merge next year and forge ahead together, but if WSID doesnt see its worht there while, we will all be travelling to willowbanl QLD to ave a chance to race, or go and race SS/BB and run 6 sec cars. hope too see some skylines or anything with 4 wheels added to the competitor list and racing. i was going t go but they arent prepping the track so big horsepower and street tyres and no track prep dont mix well
-
had to pedal it as te track was shit and didnt want to put the car into the wall. the pass you saw it tyre shook in second and third gear. it ran 115 to half track an 109 full track. so yes there was an easy mid nine if the track was there. the car is teched and has the chute on. as for the box, it needs a billett converter, its slipping badly in third gear. tyres are still mickey t street radials.
-
gee, when did i run a nine? i must have been asleep when that happened. its run 13 10.00 at 146 mph but i havent run a nine yet. on the pass you saw i had to get off it twice in second gear and then when it tyre shook again in third i got off it and ran a 10.2 at 109 mph 115.8 mph to half track. some 2 mph up at half track on when i went 146mph. we had the car for a 9.4xx at 150.8mph, just we didnt have the track to do it. cant wait to wind more boost into it.

Hi all at the Mini Jam event in qld on saturday we re set the national record from 10.8 held by lee docherty to 10.004 et and also reset the MPH record from 136 by matt legrands supra up 10 mph to 146 mph. we top qualified and also won the Street RWD class. it was a big weekend with 3 qualifiers and 7 rounds of eliminations. massive thanks to Justin Gregory my crew chief and Ewan Hanley and Roy Crichton my crew members for the ongoing support. the car consistantly 1.86 sixty footed, with a new convertor to help with the slip in third and a bit more gas off the line i am confident there is a 9.8 in it. and then we will keep winding the boost into it. a full report with photos and incar video will be up on www.1jz747.com.au late in the week cheers shane:)

Fastest Time On Radial Street Tyres..
1JZ.747 replied to campbell's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
at this stage just better down the track, it slipped all weekend at the sport compact meet and ultimately cost us going a nine at that event. the car has 145 mph in it the way it sits with a fully functioning convertor, so i need to get the convertor to handle what we have now and another 200 hp or more as we are only just at the bottom of the efficiency range of this turbo. as far as sixty foot goes. on the weekend the 10.00 it 1.68 sixty footed the rest were 2.0's and worse. this was due to not enough gas. so it needs a bit more gas with this stall speed and a more efficient convertor that will hold the power and it will come together. at 3500 pounds its never going to look exciting off the line. i would be happy with low 1.6's to high 1.5's -

10.008et at 139.99 is now the top off the list. i ran that at the sport compact meet last weekend. this was first pass off the trailer with only 23 psi on board and on another pass ran 143.33 mph. we have to sort the torque convertor out as it doesnt like the extra torque of the 3liter bottom end. so with the boost up i am looking forward to mid nines and around 150 mph shane -
12's apparantly i heard, had dramas allday
-
well drag warz has been run and won. theo took out sport rwd, finally some final action for him, and some low nines as well which if i am correct he backed up and should have lowered the et record and also the MPH record. was great to see team berzerky out there with a good 5 or 6 car team in the class, all there guys did really well. i must also say publicly thankyou to you guys for your sportsmanship in the semi when you realised i had an issue getting the cressida to crank over. its great to see, its a shame others in the sport arent like it. we were really happy with our performance on the day even with a slipping auto we still ran a pb of 10.008 et at 139.99 mph and on another pass went 143.32 mph. once the box is sorted at its current level of tune i am confident of a 9.8 et. then we will progressively wind the boost into it and see what it can do. i didnt get to see mark run but his car sounded strong all day long. cheers shane

i cant really give a real comparison as when the 51r was taken off the rear wheel had 10mm missing off each blade.

wanted power fc new to suit r33 rb25 PM me please

thats a shame, but understandable. cost vs reward type decision. would have been an awesome show though. hopefully some one will step upto the plate and make it a battle again. how many years has reece worked his assss of to get where he is now. would be a shame to see him not progress any further with it due to lack of competition. sub 7.5 would be awesome, hopefully one day it will happen. i ear whispers in the sport compact world he may be returning this year for jamboree to see if he can go faster.

Whats The Quickest Rb Powered Car?

you cut me deep, real deep GET SET PRO RWD is a term used on sport compact racing not conventional forms of drag racing. he used the term PRO RWD. hence why i made the comment there are only 3 cars running in PRO RWD and none of them are RB powered, so old mate gtr88 may have mistaken his info. at this point in time there is one street tired RB25 in this country faster than me and thats ryan quinn at 10.12 and 136 mph, so pound for pound me with no motor work aint bad at 10.17 and 137 mph at 3500 pounds. i come on this forum and post in the drag racing forum as there are plenty of like minded guys, ie, twoogle, 2rismo, buster, who we all race against each other and have great friendships. i couldn't give 2/3rds of a dirty brown shit whether you give a stuff or not. -

Fastest Time On Radial Street Tyres..
1JZ.747 replied to campbell's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
car was built to use transbrake and nos this pass was completed with no trans brake just walking it off the line, it didnt see boost till about 70 feet. carlos has sold the radials and is now running slicks, he has a goal of around 8.7 and high 150 mph trap speed. i was hoping he would stick with the radials and give theo some one to play with, but he has no passion for the street tyres. also the car weighed 3600 pounds when he ran 150 mph. and that was with a T88, his current turbo is much larger.
