-
so whos going to Jamboree this year, it will be the first round of ray boxs championship and should be a good one. when i spoke to ray on monday he said his rule book will be out shortly.

i thought all skyline drivers were wankers..

i dont know why ray has decided to do a break away championship. if it grows the sport whos cares whos bottom line it improves. he seems to be able to run very effective events such as the success of Jamboree which has been a success for many years.

the old hand brake routine, yep been using that one for a while, helped my sixty foots emensly, though its time to tighten it up again. -
so one would assume tere will be two sport compact championships going. 1. ANDRA 2. RAY BOX promoted champioship understandably the rival championship will not count towards ANDRA national records and will have different classes but along the same lines. interesting. shane

come on guys, it will only be viable to run heads up classes where you have a good number of cars running similar numbers, like in ozmod. there are two handfuls of low 9 sec cars. they arent going to come out next year and say hey S/RWD and S/AWD you guys have a 4 sec spread, we are going heads up. other wise you will end up with theo and mark racing each other in AWD and no one else coming into the class. that will be a barrel of enjoyment, a 2 car field. yahoo. that will keep crowds happy. it will be interesting if ANDRA will run a champioinship wen rays championship starts next year. i cant see racers competing in 2 seperate championships. its a growing sport, to kepp it growing you need to make it attractive to racers, DYO is whats going to attract new players into the sport. remember, as buster said if no one wants to race what are you going to watch? time will tell. edited to correct my bad spelling -

ECOR33, i agree with some of what you have said, spectators are needed to make the sport financially viable. what i was saying, keeping spectators happy is not the reason we all built our cars. certain people are saying the offical should of let a racer take all day to stage int he interest of the spectator. the racer pays $150 to race and use his strategy to his advantage, the spectator pays what $20 to see some quick passes. again, racing is a craft. the two most consistant racers and their abilities will make the final. -

i dont have sponsorship BB, i prefer to work for my hard earned money and put that into my car. just as i like to turn my own spanners as much as possible. there more pride in that. and sponsors couldnt give 2 shits about spectators buddy, if its not televised big sponsorship wont come through. go to an american sportcompact meet, there are basically no spectators, but because its televised, pretty much every competitor in pro street, equivilent version of our sport rwd has sponsorship. its all about television my friend. i have built my car 110% soley for the fun and competition, why else would i build it, to cure my sex addiction? being the best guy on the day and taking home the trophy is what its all about. your post clearly indicates why you sit in the stands, you dont understand the motivation for the guys consistantly qualifying in the top 10 racing. and i think what you were posting was whinging, hence why i posted my opinion on your whinging. notice how i dont hide behind a internet name, neither does theo or buster or twoogle or 2rismo. -

is it about the spectators? do you think i spent $50k on pruchasing and building my car to keep spectators happy i sure theo and mark, paul and stacey buster, adrian carlos didnt all go and spend a shit load of money to keep spectators happy. we built cars to race and be competitive, go fast win prize money and be the best on the day. theo could of come out later in grudge racing to have a go at an 8, i was just as disappointed as the rest he didnt, i set my PB and world record in grudge racing. racing is about racing, if it attracts spectators thats a bonus. big brother uncut is there to keep the crowd happy -

for f**k sake. there is a rule book boys and girls. read the f**king pages. comply to the class and use your brain when stagging and racing. it simple. i am getting so sick of the odd 4 or 5 people who come on here and talk shit about S/RWD, when they dont f**king race in sport compact let alone the class. the guys who race in S/RWD and are competitive know the rule book and have their own strategies and tactics. do you see BUSTER whinging no 2RISMO no TWOOGLE no ME no rob barac no theo no carlos no mark jacobsen no we should do this, we should do that, in circuit racing we do this. who gives a shit. i havent seen theo come on here and whinge, in the heat of the moment on the day he got upset, who wouldnt. hes only human. adrian punched the shit out of his steering wheel when his drive shaft let go, i could see from behind him. hes human too, lucky he was inside the car where only a few could see it and he didnt involve another person. get out on the track and have a go instead of getting on here whinging about the rule book or fairness, whing whinge, the rule book doesnt comply to what i want, whinge whinge. no wonder the wider drag racing community doesnt like sport compact, they see all this whinging shit on the net and take a bad view of us all lifes not fair, give yourself and upper cut and stop crying like babies, get out there and race. 20 seconds is a life time sitting in stage waiting on your competitor. when you have an auto that you have to build boost on its easy to over heat the gearbox whilst your waiting on your competitor, 20 seconds is more than enough. i think it will be great next year, they are splitting AWD 4WD from RWD. -

it was a great day of racing and it highlihted a lot of things to us all as racers. racing is a craft and strategy comes into it. the 20 secnd stage rule has been highlighted time and time again, everyone that straps a helmet on should no this. i heard some one make a comment the other guy should have been courteous to theo to allow him to get onto antilag. full credit to the other guy, he knew the rule and used it to his advantage. i was amazed how many cars in our class were none comliant, ie running slick or no passenger seat. for f*k sake, read the rule book, race to the rules or piss off and race in some other class. it was a shame to see people break things, i was parked behind Marks car at scrutineering, i saw the N20 sign on the back and got a chubb. i was looking for a big number from it and to see it break on its first pass was a disappointment. poor old twoogle, that was a shame as well, something so simple crewed a weekend. as for my final, yea i beat him the orange rotary the first time with ease and yea i was a bit peeved that the boards dodnt work and they made us re run it when we were both happy with the out come. i did beat him the second time aswell but broke out by .004 for a lose. i nursed a slipping gearbox all day, hence why my dial in jumped from 10.5 to 11.45 in elimintations. having said that even with a slipping box i ran a PB of 10.55 at 130mph in a grude run. thanks to SAU memebers that gave me verbal support on the day, hopefully with a none slipping gearbox we will see a low ten second cressida at jambo and more space on my world record to the next competitor. hi boys and girls i am just wondering what big hp skylines are using when it comes to automatic gearboxes. i have got to the point where my strengthened toyota box cant handle it any more. i am being pushed towards an al's race glide C4 or a power glide. i still drive the car on the street a fair bit but not more than 4000k's per year. with the new engine i intend to build it will make approx 900 at the crank so it has to be able to handle that sort of power. any info would be appreciated.
