  1. Hey people, had a blast running the sled. B) Got pipped at the post by some parachute wearing, wheelie bar, rocket engined VW beetle in the E/T. Was great to see some real tough liners doin their stuff. Congrats to BU5TER on gettin up in the sport/rwd. Hope to catch up again soon.
  2. Went for a spin today at Wakefield Park. A shit load of bikes were there, man some of them are stir fry crazy. Track was good, car felt great and passed quite a few, including a Ferrari 360.. Surprised a few when they found out it's an auto NA.
  3. Hey Mick. Yes my Zed's coming out, but definately not an RB30... just a stockie NA VG30DE. Not sure why they put me in there, but I won't be running high 7's, thats for sure. B)
  4. Phew !!! Thanks for the info Paul (can I still wear my cardigan?). I'll be the one running flat 16's in the black sled. B) Will be a late starter, working in the morning.
  5. SHIT !!! Spoke to John on the Al Capone twice and in person last nite and I told him my times and was told that was not a prob, and they would stick me in some category. (cardigan wearers I guess?). Have paid up so wtf?
  6. Top stuff in that heat Bu5ter. Huge launch though and an awesome sound.
  7. Best run a ball tearing 15.952, a PB for the sled, worst run was a 16.154, six runs in all.. Last 18 runs have all been between the above times. Think i'll DYO a 15.9 for the dragwarz. I'm not sure about slicks, as this will be my 1st event of this type, so running semis.
  8. Went to wicked Wed last night to get in some practice. 6 runs all within 0.150 of each other. Paid up for DragWarz. Bring on the Zed. B)

  10. Tommy, think i'll head down to WP next wed, the 14th.got the day off. Really keen to try new setup, if it's hot, just do a few laps at a time, if it's wet, sleep in.
  11. ARDC wanted to take my cash. Your right, lot of boo for little time, but desperate men do desperate things. Havn't done EC yet, will have 2 wait till 20th for L2S practice day.
  12. Going for a spin this Wed with a zed or two..... so anchors away B) See if I can beat time with a stick !!
  13. Track Day Cancelled........ Notified today that due to low numbers, they had to call the event off. Guess I'll have to try Wakefield Park for a thrash. Next meet at Eastern Creek is Jan 20th.
  14. Hey track freaks. B) Eastern creek are holding a twilight meeting, Wednesday 7th of December, 4.30 to 9.00 . [ARDC] Cost is $200. For your money you get Drivers briefing: track rules/attitude/driver position/cornering and lines. Unlimited laps and speed. Advanced , intermediate and new levels so you can get amongst drivers/cars of similar class. Helmets , roadworthyness and no slicks. R compounds are fine. Fee includes a light dinner. Guests are $15 per head. Numbers are limited so if your interested, call 9672 1000. Bookings essential. ps: unsure how to attatch link, it's a neanderthal thing.
  15. Please forgive my ignorance, but what are the noted reasons for excluding sub 11 sec street reg cars on club days? Does it have anything to do with safety, terminal speed or have they just selected a number adhoc. If their reasons are logical, why is there such confusion? Have they stated their reasons anywhere? And if they have, do they make sense? From memory Alan Jones, radio personality, was heavily involved with the original project and launch of the track. Would it be fare to say that he may have some interest in this dilemmar??
  16. Yeh Adam I find that recording your session with an incar camera, and using a dvd recorder for their timer, you can "frame by frame" for identical land marks. Gets you to about 1/3 to 1/2 a second. Plus you can amuse your friends when your pissed ! B)
  17. Checked with the wizard, and there are no other shots.
  18. That time of 1:11.5 is crazy fast. Done a stack of laps there and PB is 1:16.9 in my zed n/a on semi's, full comp suspension, slotted rotors, etc . Last time I was there I just managed to squeeze past a pair of 350 zeds, but our laps were almost identical. Boosted zed's slot car, the "skyline smacker", has managed a ball tearing 1:08.4....... Hard to keep track of time down there unless you have a transponder. Hand time methods are sometimes a little unreliable.
  19. Tommy I'm not sure. Wizard was taking the shots and only during the rain. I believe that most of his shots didn't turn out due to the shitty light, but I'll send him a PM and see if he got any others and post here. B)
  20. Is this the kind of post to be boasting about??? The reputation of all import performance car owners is jeopardised by this kind of pimple headed, backward baseball cap wearing tripe. If you want to race at these speeds, I highly recommend WSID or a track day, not through suburban streets. These forums are regularly browsed by Mr Plog and this kind of stuff just adds more justification for them to make life more difficult to all of us. Next time you have the urge to drive like a boy racer, can you let us all know so we can park our machines and stay right out of your way.
  21. Bloody rain!! Still, had fun in my zed though, drifting out of corner 4. Went back for a second go and track was fine, bloody weather!! Still, it was good meeting up with other members and seeing some tough liners. B) A couple of mod cars went out for a spin, man they look like a fun toy.
  22. I'm back in. Thanks Adam for the heads up with Aaron McGill, very helpful. Hope the weathers fine... That'll make it a couple of cardigan wearing, afternoon napping, slow boat cruisers. B)
  23. Thanks shifter for spelling it out so clearly. The zed's do indeed need very little in mods to "smack some skyline's" to borrow a quote from Boosted Zed. Hell they even go fast at rest!! But I do admire the skylines for their brute force and sharp lines and always get excited in seeing our brother nissans at the track/strip/street. B)
  24. I own a black 300zx N/A. I have owned this car since June this year. I'm 36 yrs and drive like an old mole (most times). I have been pulled over 6 times in it. Once for doing 105km on the m5, once for turning right at a green arrow, once for pulling into my driveway,RBT's etc, etc. Each time Mr Plog see's that I'm an old fart and they then turn defencive. 'Oh', they say, 'do you have turbo's?'. Like I'm going to say 'sure mate, f**king huge ones', not. I take my zed to plenty of track days and it performs really well (better times than alot of turbo's) It seem's obvious that if you drive a certain model/colour car, you are treated with suspicion, that is guilty of an act you may or may not have commited. I'm always courteous and thank them and wish them a happy day. The trick is to listen to what they say, don't be a smart arse, answer only if they ask you a straight question, don't bullshit too much and you may get some respect, but don't expect it! I kind of figure that eventually, Mr Plog will see my black zed (and maybe others) and think that it aint worth the effort. And by the way, I've not been fined, yet! M2CW B)
  25. Went and had a look on Sat. Some very tough imports on display. Was there to see 'boosted zed' drift, but there was a couple of issues with the clutch and power steer belt. B)
