I think he has worded it wrong. I am not entirely clued up on suspension components, but from what I have gathered, he things the RHF strut is done, and the bump stop on that side can't be adjusted. I asked about throwing Bilstein shocks, new springs, boots and bumpstops in, but he seemed to think that wouldn't be the best option. I should mention that I completely trust this guy with my car, he has never led me down the wrong path, and he even suggested to find whatever I need (be it coilovers, or whatever) on the net or find the cheapest I can, then he will put them in. So with that, he isn't trying to push any particular brands or components. GTSBoy, I would go coilovers as a set, so I'd take out the rear Bilsteins. I may look at what 75coupe has suggested, as that seems the most logical seeing as I already have a good rear setup

Hello all, I am hoping to get some much needed advice in regards to my front suspention. I drive a '96 R33 GTST and over the past couple of months/weeks I have noticed a 'sag' in the front drivers side wheel guard. I believe it is a good 20mm difference between my front right side and my front left side height. This has become even more noticeable lately due to the rubbing of my tyre on the inner plastic wheel guard when I have close to full lock or go over speed bumps. Anyway, I took the car to my mechanic today to see what is going on. Apparently my bump stop on the right had side is failing to repond to raising attempts. I have been told that my left hand side is more rigid, and the right is soft, so the car will tend to rock to the right side (causing rubbing in some circumstances). I currently have Nismo shocks in the fronts. So, I have asked what my options are. I have been told that at the moment this isn't a major issue, and the rubbing is minimal, with no chance of and major damage being caused. I had the notion of getting new Bilstein shocks (which would match my rear Bilsteins) to see if that would help, but apparently it will have no effect as its the bump stop and springs that are keeping the car at that height. I have been advised to look at a coilover set. Tein Super Street coilovers or HSD's have been suggested. The only thing that is stopping me about going this route is a) the price, and b) do I really need this setup? Your suggestions and thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds good guys. I'll have a look at the diameter of existing one and go from there. Prob need a new AFM anyway. Had issues in underground carparks (as well as other times) where my revs would fluctuate badly - from 200 to 1500, then car would stall when i gave it a little gas. Had it data-streamed but nothing came up.......weird. Hasn't happened in a while now though. Anyway, i'll take into account the advice given cheers

Hey all, I've got a set of stock r33 rims and tires for sale. They have been off my car for a while now, i thought i would use them one day, but i never will. I've attached some pics. I'm not exactly sure how much tread is on each tire, but if i had to guess, i'd say the two rims i had on the back have about 60 - 70% tread, and the two from the front have about 80%. See the images and decide for yourself. Not certain about what these go for these days, so any reasonable offer will be considered. Thanks

Hey mate, thanks for your reply. first of all, i probably can't borrow an AFM because all the people i know use their cars daily. I will read up on how to clean the AFM in a second, so that i can do. the cut outs are pretty normal, like i can feel the revs fluctuate, and i know that she will cut out soon enough. I can't really drop gears and smash it because it only happens when i'm idleing in the worst possible places, like in a drive thru, or underground carpark. anyway, the only thing i could do is nail in in first, but i'm never in the position to do that.

OK, i'll just see how she goes now. Thanks a lot for your help HypeR33, i really appreciate it

ok, i ended up winding it all the way in, but i honestly don't even know the difference between all the way in and all the way out. it seems to be a little looser all the way out, but not by a lot. i'm starting to wonder if the spring is even in there? its hard to find info on this BOV too

hey mate, do you increase the spring tention by winding the screw all the way in or winding it out? at the moment i think its out thanks

Hey everyone, I'm having a bit of trouble with my car. I give you the details then say what i have done. If you can help me it would be much appreciated. OK, i have a skyline r33 gts-t 1996 series 2. It is pretty much stock engine wise. stock ecu/computer, blitz blow off valve, pod filter, you know, the basics. so this is why this is pissing me off. I've had the car for about 3 years now, and every now and then, maybe once every 4 months, i get this problem with the car stalling when idleing. Its really wierd because it normally only happens after long trips, like being in 5th gear for a while, then when i slow down and start to idle, the revs fluctuate between 0 and 1200rpm, then sometimes it will stall. It happened the worse the other day when it stalled 8 times in an underground carpark. it starts up again straight away though, so there's no problems there. sometimes it will stall and all the warning lights will come on (HICAS, etc) then it will start again without me doing anything. it will only be off for a second but its still wierd. Now, for what i have done about it. Today i took it to Gavin Woods Autotech on the coast and he datastreamed it and said that there was nothing wrong with it. so that to me rules out AFM and O2 sensor, which were 2 of my culprits. the most annoying thing is that my car is running perfect now. so i think that the main options left are the BOV, pod, and intercooling pipe. I should also mension that when i first got the car, i blew the intercooler pipe off and put it back on myself. now i have to be honest, it wasn't the best fitting pipe, but i clamped it on pretty well, and it has never blown off since. i thought maybe there could be a tiny bit of air escaping/intaking from a little gap maybe, but then it would happen all the time right? i think i may also buy new hoses to attatch to the BOV, maybe there's something happening there. I know there have been a fair few posts about stuff like this, but i have read them all and most seem to have something to do with the AFM, which in my case i know is fine. so if anyone could help and offer suggestions, it would help a lot. Thanks everyone

Hey everyone, I am after some advice on what i should do with my audio system in my R33 S2. currently i know little about whats in it, i'm pretty sure that it is stock speakers, and i don't even know what size they are. I really want to hang onto my stock head unit, as it takes up a pretty big space and i don't want any gaps in it if i were to change head units. I am mainly looking at changing the speakers due to poor sound and bad vibration when the bass is up. i practically have to have the bass off completely to listen to the thing. now i don't want to spend heaps on it, and i don't need it to be the best audio system in the world, i just want it to sound good and not rattle and vibrate when the music's up. any suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks guys

Hey everyone, I seem to be having a very inconsistent problem with my car. its a 1996 series 2 R33 GTST, and every time i go for a long drive (this is when it normally happens), when i slow down and have to use first or neutral, the cars revs start in fluctuate between 400 and 1000 rpm, then occasionally it just dies. i've noticed that i happens when i have the air con on for a while. This problem is very inconsistent though, as it may only happen once every couple of months, but when it does, its very annoying. If anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be, or how i can fix it, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hey everyone, I only got my skyline a couple of months ago, and i am new to this forum. I have a white 1996 R33 GTS-T Coupe and i was wondering where the best place to go would be for a service. anywhere between Brisbane and the coast is fine. i just want to find a place that is good, and has a good reputation. Any suggestions are much appreciated thanks
