  7. yeah there's plenty of oil in the intercooler piping, i've also changed the turbo over with another stockie that was the first thing i did and yeah didn't fix it. The car is running quite well needed a car to drive the other day but on a 30min return trip it went through heaps of oil which was surprising cos it's wasn't blowing to much smoke, put a bottle of stop smoke in it just for the hell of it and it's has actually lessened the smoke but it's still quite bad so it got parked straight back in my drive way the oil line from the head is pretty much a straight T into the turbo return line the oil never travels up only horizontial but it does have to do a 90 degree turn
  8. been to the mechanic and ran on the dyno, it's only really blowing smoke under deceleration the after that which means the guides are worn and under pressure it suck oil into the intake system causing it to blow plenty of smoke FARKEN GRR as for price i really would like to get 300 i only just bought it for 350 and that seems to be every ones firm price so i thought 300 should be the goods pm a genuine offer and i can always consider it
  9. just to add the motor wasn't refreshed i bought it off the forums for a bloody good price but it was just rb30e block with a rb25det head slapped straight on nothing refreshed, thje guy i bought it off was putting it in his own car before he had some financial dif and had to sell up on everything, it was still a bloody good buy, but it seems that the head wasn't checked properly only visual inspection as well as the block so there is a chance that it could be rings but the mechanic that fitted it said it was valves and it does seem to blow smoke mainly when i get off the throttle
  10. okay never mind on this question about the oil return this is correct came across pics of conans car posted six months ago gotta love search button okay few more question this oilly smoking is still driving me crazy i really don't want to pull the head off if i don't have to so does anyone think it could be anything else the symptons are no smoke in 1st 2nd or 3rd hit about 120km in 4th and she just blows smoke absolutlely every where and will continue to trail smoke in 5th, after this it will some times blow smoke in lower gears but only when giving a squirt, it seems to run quite well untill it dumps all the oil in 4th, any chance this could be a problem with the way the motor was setup? or most likely valve guides. if it is valve guides is it worth while to upgrade to gtr valve springs or are the r33 rb25det springs more than adequate? and lastly on head gaskets any dramas with a nismo 11044-rr590 Gasket Cylinder Head - 0.9 mm x 87mm
  11. hey more advice needed, replaced turbo still no good been put down to worn valve guides so the head will be coming off but before i do this i got one quick question about the way the mechanic set up the oil return tubes what they've done is T'd the oil return tube from the head into the oil return tube from the turbo then into the block is this the correct way to setup it up on a rb25det vvt head rb30e block?
  12. hey i have a R33 s1 standard turbo for sale purchased as i thought mine was blown but it has turned out to be valve guides damn it! So now i have no use for the turbo i bought it's in good condition told it came off a car that had done 70xxxkm reliable bloke purchased for $350 after quick sale need cash to fix head $300 pm email [email protected] mob 0420243038
  13. don't think it's head gasket been that intake is full of oil and it's wasn't over heating and my oil cap isn't milky
  14. went a week ago for the first time, went to farbairn it was awesome possibly be up for this depending on date and cash situation and beau i still have a mad bruise on my arm from one that didn't break
  15. okay well thats one thing off, it's definitly oil smoke the fact my intercooler piping etc. are coated in oil
  16. by the way this was on standard turbo, but i have noticed a few comments about oil restrictors sorry for been a noob but whats does this imply i thought that been a major possibilty that perphap it's got way to much oil going into the turbo and blew out the seal???
  17. I did start a thread for this but i thought i'd put it in here aswell just incase there's a chance it's a problem with the engine setup not the turbo and you's are the guys in the know when it comes to rb30det hey, just after some quick opinons if i may, just dropped a rb30det into my r33, the motor was not refreshed at all but the guy who built it said the block and head looked in good nick when he was putting it together (he never actually got it started had to sell up big before he got a chance to due to lack of funds) on thursday we got it up and running full dyno tune everything seemed in order a bit of valve guide wear blowing smoke when getting off the throttle but when driving on the street i didn't notice it all. did a few 5 min trips from mech but to work that sort of thing during the day, driving really nice and smooth very happy then on my way home gave it a little hit not to much cos it still hadn't really been running but i'd been told i didn't need to run it in cos it was basically like doing a head gasket since the parts weren't refreshed next thing i know it loses power for a second and there is white smoke everywhere, but it did clear up but from this point she was blowing smoke out the exhaust as soon as you touched the accelerator and upon stopping it stalled but then fired up straight away and drove a little bit further just to get home blowing a bit of smoke of course. once home i turned it off and check under the hood saw a whole heap of oil in the corner of the engine bay where the airfilter is also where my bov points, started it up again it fired over and then just stalled tried again same thing, lightly holding down the accelerator just a tad and it started a bit ruff but ran with me gradually lifting off it started to idle, tried a couple of times to get it to start just from turing the key no good, pulled off intercooler piping i have a link ecu with map and started it up had oil spitting out of the pipe that runs from the turbo and not out of the pipe off the plenum don't know if this means much left it to sit over night, checked it again in the morning on cold start it kicked over and ran like normal except for white smoke out the exhaust i've already organised for another turbo and have removed most of the piping ect. visual inspection of turbo front turbine intact although has oil sitting in it and a bit of oil leaked onto outside of turbo around bolts for front housing. so yeah sorry about the novel guys just wanted to make sure i made the full story clear lol what i am worried about now is if it is turbo seal was it just old age 140xxxkm quite possible or could something else have caused it just seems a bit funny that as soon as i put the rb30 in the turbo lets go especially at 5psi thanks in advance for any input guys

  19. god damn we have good luck hey
  20. nah i didn't make it that fair lol it went on my way home to wash the car before going to the formal thanks for the offers guys, good news is i picked up another turbo off a mate for what turned out to be nothing been that he's a painter and i sell paint so we came to an agreement , should have her back up and running early next week presuming it was just a turbo oil seal
  21. yep after you's left i pulled the intercooler piping off and fired her up (joys of map sensor ) and yep the oils definitly coming from the turbo so it's a certain oil seal I'll be pulling it off on saturday instead of the christmas cruise (damn it) just praying it hasn't done a turbine and gone threw the motor but it was still making boost when it started smoking so it should be alright my intakes just full of farken oil now god damn it it just really pisses me off cos it was running stock boost WTF! i think it just wanted to set a new record for shortest time spent on the road
  22. i gotta drop out too my car has just done it's shortest stint yet less then a day to break something else
