Have you tried Young & Cool in Brissie? The insurance you get with rego isnt worth a pinch of the proverbial. If someone hits you it will be claimed against their insurance (if they have it) but you will not be covered if you hit them (expensive). Are you getting a loan or paying cash? If you are getting a loan your bank (defcredit or otherwise) will require you have an insurance "quote" for he vehicle. If you get a personal loan you can tell them you are getting the money for a holiday, car repairs, debt consolidation etc. Best of luck, Ken

Hey Craig, Nice to hear you are still alive!!. I dont think I have have seen a "nice clean" 89 gtr for under 20k. I had a look at importing a heap of these, started looking for them 18 months ago. I have a few offered to through my supplier in Japan but nothing that was good enough to resell. I would be very careful about purchasing an 89 gtr. If anything goes wrong with a gtr get ready for a bank loan. my 2 cents, Ken

I have some Tein "S" springs coming from japan, they are made for the Staj with correct spring rates etc. I can get these for around $350.00. Expect around 4 week wait as they are ex Japan only. Exhausts (from what i have been told) are different to 33 2dr and 4dr, and different again from r34 stuff, if you find something that fits please let me know as i want an exh sooner rather than later. Mmmm, had an oil cooler on my GTR and still had high temps, got a good rad and it fixed it. Oil temp to stay below 100 if you are doing 160 all day..... not up here mate. RBNT

Failed compliance first time - never can be complied. The vin will have a black mark against it in Canberra's books. Depending on damage, Canberra may also request the car be crushed/buried with evidence. This means no race or rally fun either. Jake is spot on - be very careful. If you are importing yourself you MUST either fly to Japan and check the car over yourself or try arrange to have an INDEPENDANT mechanical workshop inspection (still can be some problems). The easy way to go is to use a broker. Just make sure you get a good one. Cheers, Ken

I would get a good quality radiator first. My GTR used to get hot around Hidden Valley after 3 laps. Fair enough I was giving it a foot full but for cheap motor insurance a good rad would be the go. Ken

My insurance is through Shannons. I pay $550 per year full comp. Insured for $22k. I think i got a good deal due to my last car r32 gtst4 and my gtr race car was insured with them. Got my wifes 33 turbo 4 door insured for $530 per year. Give them a call. Ken

Hey all, I have recently purchased a RS4 due to baby one the way. Sold my heavily modded 32 gts4 but am very happy with the new toy. Have got Tein S springs to drop her a little, gtr fmic, exhaust, boost guage timer etc etc. Might have a go at the group buy for the stainless mainfold too. Tein springs are ex Japan only (correct type for 4wd staj's), if any one is interested I can organise some more, $350 inc gst + ship. Will post photos when car is done. Hey Brett, The RB25det in the R34 Skyline is the NEO version, VVT type. I have a 97 mod staj with the r33 type 25 motor. The reason that they are not as quick is a simple weight issue. The Staj is a bit of a porker carrying 1650kg dry. How much is fcut?? Are you trying to change the R34 into a 4wd?? Big job! Cheers m8, Ken
