Hey sorry to revive an old thread but did anyone have any luck with this. I'm at the point now of giving it a go but have no idea where to start. any idea's on the best method? moving the mounts or fabricating a rose joint onto the trailing arm?

I know its been 2 years but are these still for sale? Looking for one to replace my busted one.

Door jams etc are not painted. This happened to my 25 when i rebuilt it. We got a little careless at the end of the rebuild and didn't check the lifters as they where fine when i pulled the engine down. At least 5 or so where locked up and not letting the valve close all the way. Replaced them and its been running fine until now. So that may be your problem too. John

More parts full set of RB26dett valve springs $60 Rb25det valve set (retainers, valves, collets, springs) missing one valve. $100

Rb25det short motor in bits. STD bore/crank/rod clearances. Comes with crank, rods, oil pump, sump & broken pistons (a few ringlands are cracked) -$350 RB25det intake manifold. almost complete just missing a part off the idle valve & temp sensors. Has injectors, fuel rail, coolant lines, throttle body etc Tested TPS & injectors to make sure they work. $150 RB20det nics short motor. no sump $offers Cooked Rb25det head with no valve train or covers. Well i was runing an old autronic smc for years and it was fine. The trigger disks in the CAS do need to be replaced and none of my ignition system is standard anymore but it ran excellent. (008 bosch modules & twin spark coils) Now with the support & documentation it’s far and wide but it is there. Also something i prefer over the motec is you dont have to pay for every little option you get on the ecu. If the ecu can do it you can enable it yourself and that is bliss for people like me that want to play around with it. Not that you really should unless you know what your doing but datalogging etc is nice. The systems work fine if they are set up correctly but with an inexperienced installer/tuner could end in problems easily. So if you never want to know its there or tune it yourself then go for something else but if you want all the nice little bells and whistles to play with then I would go for a sm2. I would also like to hear more about these problems. John

If anyone wants a head to practice on i have a rb25 head that has no valve gear and has gone alittle soft. Offers? Oh and i got my head done a while ago. a small port/polish, valve seats, seals etc its just sitting around in plastic wrap waiting for the bottom end. I cant wait to see how it goes.

Hmm a thread back from the dead. Thanks for your input discopatato you seem to have seen this before. Its just you make it seem like it wont work at all and it worked well for years as just a "Stock replacement" kinda thing and i was very happy with it. Just to add a few other things. I belive that i got a whole new wheel to wheel core installed in my old turbo not just a rebuilt vl/vg30 one (but i guess its almost the same thing anyway). Now i'm looking for more power when the engine goes back together with forgies etc and just for the time being i was going to put this turbo back on till i get something else later (GT30 or something). So i dont really want to spend a alot of cash to change a old style turbo into a new one. So you think the whole compressor setup needs be changed to T04b gear? I'm guessing this would cost at least $500+ to do at a turbo shop but would this increased flow without touching the turbine cause it to surge? Do you know of anywhere that supplies the turbo housings cheap in aus because i'll have to get new stuff unless i can find a second hand turbo to gut. Thanks John
