  1. They definitly fit - but my old RB25 engine ran like a bag of s--t with them installed. I could not get it to perfrom well with them. Try it and see how it goes - you may have better luck, especially if you play with the cam timing on the dyno. Theres not alot of gain to be made with them anyway.
  2. Because it isnt a successful transplant. RB26 cams are designed for solid lifters and RB25 heads have hydraulic lifters.
  3. Whens the next one Baz ?? Im keen to see what I can do
  4. R32 RB25DE non VCT has different springs to R33 RB25 VCT - they are same as RB20 or RB26, equal length on both the ex and in so you can not use R33 ones.
  5. This is my setup and it works a treat. I am using a 60mm gate and have upgraded to 3.5 inch dump and exhaust since those pics were taken. http://www.spoolimports.com/content/PROJECTCARS.asp Go the 6boost manifold :-)
  6. Good effort. Is that on street tyres ? How many runs did you get on the night ?
  7. oh yeah :-) I knew that just seeing who was paying attention .. not
  8. Wont be able to make it tonight - but let me know when the next one is as keen to go.
  9. Decking your block only increases your compression ratio as you are reducing your piston to deck volume ( if you have one ) and or making your piston sit proud of the deck, hence making your gasket volume smaller. My NEO head ( from memory ) had 56cc comb chambers.
  10. Here are the pics for the water gallery mod. Some people dont do it but I dont like to rely on the thin bit of gasket to seal. So pic 1 shows the std RB25 head, Pic 2 shows the std RB25 head with a RB30 gasket fitted, and Pic 3 shows that the RB30 gasket just covers the water gallery in the RB25 head by a few mm ( see the black Nikko Pen line ) I have the hole welded up ( and the oil gallery hole ) and reshaped to the same size as the RB30 hole so that the gasket fits perfectly.
  11. This has been covered - you can not just bolt the RB25DET R33 VCT head straight on without modifying the water gallery and blocking off the oil feed hole - going with no VCT
  12. Ill try to make it also
  13. What plug and play ECU options are available for the R34 Auto ? I just picked up a 4 door and want to do some mods :-)
  14. Cant give a firm price yet guys until I get the sample made - also ore prices are going up, hence 4340 is and the $ is moving around. But at this point in time they will be around $2000 - 2500.
  15. Ive seen Carillos, Argo, Eagles, Scat and Spool rods fail - all have been due to oil starvation. Any rod will fail if it welds itself to the crank at high rpm. Rod choice all comes down to your budget and personal preference ( and what you hear ) My engine makes 560rwhp and turns to 8000 rpm daily - it is over 12 months old and has done 126 power runs on a dyno in that time. There are a few XR6 turbo engines making 620 - 650 rwhp with Spool rods now. So I know they are good and there are plenty of people and trade customers using them in big power street, drag and drift cars and have been for years now. Hope that helps.
  16. Shane - just sent you a message on the Qld SAU re your girdles. Have a look and get back to me when you can. Cheers
  17. lol Geoff - how is that car of yours going ? Do you want me to arrange a tune for it :-)
  18. http://www.toyo.com.au/Motorsportnew.htm Expensive, fast wearing - but stick like shit to a blanket.
  19. before the end of this year - earlier hopefully
  20. it will def need custom rods ( which I will supply also ) and possibly custom pistons, might get away with RB30ET pistons - depending on final displacement / swept volume.
  21. lol - It will be 3.3 to 3.4 Litre - just to set the record straight My std crank is going strong at 560 rwhp - so approx 700bhp.
  22. Im running Toyo R888's on the rear. They are exceptional for grip, expensive but I can not get traction without them.
  23. Gary Would you run the 2 x 044's back into a y piece and then into one fuel line to the fuel rail.
  24. RB30DET - 560rwhp on 23psi Makes full boost at 4000 rpm - very streetable. SPOOL RB30 rods ACL RB30ET pistons R34 NEO Head HKS 272/9.35 CAM Garret T04Z 6 boost manifold 3.5 exhaust and cat Apexi POwer FC and Q45 AFM This is a total street car running pump 98 fuel, std tailshaft, std diff, runs a cat, and air con.
