  1. Good to see a tutorial on this but there are several issues I see over looked all the time. A. 040 and 044 are massive over kill unless you are looking at supplying fuel for a hugely powered car. (in which case, an in tank simple set up is lacking in every department) B. no check valve on either of these pumps. So as soon as you stop the car, all pressure is lost. C. I don't think I've had an R32 that you could bend the pump seat down and fit it back in D. this mounting style will be tremendously noisey. Not being a smart arse! just trying to give info that I have come accross the hard way. I recently revised my in tank bosch set up but the pics are on my work computer. I'll get them up soon.
  2. Hey guys, keen to get a Type R ebc but can't find anyone that has had experience with them? Have you got any boost maps etcto show how well it works? And how do I go about getting one from you? Cheers, Matt
  3. cheaper than new and basically unused. Even better = these have been tested and have no issues when teins don't come with warrenty. Check them out!!
  4. Interest shown but no money. so, these are still up for grabs.

  6. I just thought I'd answer some questions I've been getting, A. I'm selling these because I have just got my license back from a 6 month suspension (accumulation of points in work vehicles over several years). So, they were fitted for a year but only driven on for 6 months. Now I have my license back, my break from working on my car has meant that my goals have changed and it is time to sell up and move on. B. The price IS negotiable. The rules of the sale thread mean that I must put a price as a starting point. That isn't a green light to low ball me C. $1700 = It is a starting point and they have done so little km that I have recieved constant ribbing about how little I have driven my car. It turned into a massive fight for me to get these off a trader on these forums when I had provided payment upfront. It took for me to threaten legal action and surprise, surprise, they turned up 2 days later. A few hundred off is a few hundred off full price for something which is effectively new and tested if you will (with these not being covered by warrenty, a big plus I would have thought). And they are here ready to put on today. D. Postage is easily organised. feel free to contact me if you have any more questions more questions Matt
  7. BUYERS RULES 2. No price debates - put simply if you do not agree with the price being asked, do not comment on the thread. If you believe the seller is asking too much then either pm the thread starter or dont buy the items advertised - simple. Read the rules!

  9. I've been looking into this a fair bit also. Mainly because I love fooling with stuff that most others don't have the patience for (The 1 percenters if you will) because it all adds up. This was my first attempt just prior to going for a nice drive. After this I modded a little by moulding it to the raised centre section of my front bar, a long evacuation gill just before the engine to aid evacuation of radiator heat, then slightly lipped the rear egde of the tray to help create a low pressure area just after to help pull the heat of the engine bay under the car (As the rear of the engine bay graduates air flow in that direction generally but can suffer from swirl/backpressure etc.). This section will hopefully help with cooling also as it dierects air to flow in through the radiator and straight out under the car in one motion. cars with out an under tray tend to have air travel under the car and swirl into the engine bay at certain speeds causing a pressurisation, theoretically opposing good flow through the radiator. I've got my self a new infra red temp gauge but haven't played much yet because my standard radiator is to be replaced soon with a triple core because it is quite simply pathetic for anything over commuting in a tropical state. I know on a lot of high end cars, they tend to have a very smooth under body to just before the the rear carrier. To cool the fuel tank, but from what I have read, moat cars go backwards in fuel efficientcy when the rear is trayed. But in general they do make sure there are no parrachut areas like the rear bar by extending them further than usual which also reduces wake by pulling excess air from under the car into the low pressure zone. No expert here! Just looking to learn.
  10. If anyone used to be an avid reader of HPI they would have seen the article that compared the standard GTR cat back with a couple of aftermarket ones on a dyno. Much to their surprise, the standard cat back out performed everyone by a minimum of 4 Kw accross the rev range. = great prevention of becoming cop bait while keeping (possibly improving) performance. I personally love quieter cars. This would also be a solid upgrade for a GTS-T, direct bolt on Hope that helps move it!
  11. I think the sleeper title is gone once you post pictures, specs, and future plans on a public forum as well known as this one :laughing-smiley-014:
  12. I think the population of F'wits within the import market is multiplying at a great rate because of the growing accessability to the cars themselves. The import market used to be a little bit of a niche market for the people that could afford them and "true enthusiasts", but has become avialable to the masses more and more with every year coupled with the finaincial boom, until recently. With cars that are cheaper with almost double the performance = It isn't a hard decision. This has occured since the start of time and will long beyond us Someone founds something fantastic. It becomes commercial (usually losing its soul) for the masses. The unique becomes the norm. Then there are always some that will take it to far and ruin it for everyone. GREAT EXAMPLE = Good news week (along with 50 other shows) Simple fantastic on ABC when it is raw. Channel 10 dumbed down for the masses and it tanked. So every Fwit and their mate can buy a car, bang a pod (open to the engine bay ofcoarse) and hit the streets looking to prove something. 9 times out of 10 I won't acknowledge another skyline driver either because 8 times out of 10 it's someone trying to insight something. There are always going to be a few bad eggs in any demographic and no one is perfect but what really gets my back up is the little bastards that show blatent disregard for others and property. The ones that go on TV with their "It's not dangerous, I just enjoy the buzz of racing on the streets, I'll never stop". With their mates tuanting the police in the background. So if I drive my car on a routine drive, I get followed by a cop the entire distance. It is more a question of society, you will get types at all ages but unfortunately the performance car industry is full of youth, arogance and money to burn. We live in a generation of abundance with no direction other than self gratification!
  13. Yes, it does! I see looking at the specs that a 6.5 can only handle a narrow range like you said but the subs can handle anywhere from 0 - 500Hz. Super, thanks for all the help guys
  14. Thanks guys! Great help, i really appreciate it
  15. Thanks guys great information. OK, So, 6.5s as a substitute for a sub is not going to measure up. I had a feeling this would be so but I was willing to hope and ask the question At 380wrms bridge rating should be much more than adaquate power for a single sub setup, I was just trying to get out of setting it up. Kinks - I have an R32 so that box is no good for me. But thanks anyway. I was trying to avoid a sub enclosure out of laziness because my suspension has been corner balanced and the weight of the car is biased towards the front (obviously) but also the right hand side of my car (especially with me in it). So with a battery relocation and sub enclosure to be encorperated while trying to get a good weight distribution proves a little bit harder But in saying that, probably a good opertunity! Jack88 - My head unit has 3 preouts (one being for the sub with bass control) so the plan is to put the front preout at stereo to the splits and the sub control to the bridged rear channels for the sub on low pass? Does that sound right guys?
  16. Hey guys, I was hoping some of the audio tech heads could help me with some questions on sound system set up in my R32? Now keeping in mind that the emphasis for me is that my car remain a good drivers car, so, light wieght but still delivers quality sound. And I mean quality, not quantity. Dosen't have to blow my cloths off but I like a lot of R&B and dance music which needs some bass to sound good 1. I have the latest response 4x100wrms amp and front splits. What would be best to put in the rear? 2. Can I have the front 2 channels on stereo going to my splits and the rear channels bridged on low pass for a sub? or if you bridge one do you have to bridge the other? 3. Would 2x6.5" woofers deliver reasonable bass any where near, say, a 10" sub? <- I ask because I can fit these in the parcel shelf so i don't have to make a heavy boot space reducing sub enclosure (a trade off if you will). correct this logic if I'm wrong but the bass comes from the amount of air being moved, so, 2x6.5 (with decent excursion) should equal a 12"? Any help and advice would be most appreciated
  17. Yeah, my car is like what I would imagine it would be like to date jessica alba! Great to look at , great to ride , needs nothing but wants everything . And just when you think your close to sealing the deal and finishing her off. . . . You wake up and realise how far you have to go
  18. Hey mate, sorry to hear of the misfortune Dibs on the grill and latch support if they're ok I'll give you a call Saturday morning Matt
  19. Hey everyone, I know that factory volk bronze wheels are anodised bronze but I was wondering if anyone had gotten there wheels painted the same colour? And. . . Did they know the paint code they used? I'm trying to get my rims painted the same colour but slightly different. But it would be a massive help if someone out there in the wide world of interweb knows of a paint code that matches the colour. I will be able to go about it the hard way and nut it out with my painter but thought i'd ask
  20. + he lives in brisbane = farken hot. And It can only be an improvement. I would put an oil cooler type heat exchanger into the return line and possibly mount it Z tune style on the rear carrier?
  21. Thanks mate, that is very good and highly relevant advice! I wanted to go with a friend for exactly those reasons. When I went to europe, I was alone for the first week in which I saw every thing I had hoped to within that week but it all felt a bit empty. Then I went on a small contiki (I know, but the trip was planned litterally 1 week ahead) where you are forced to meet plenty of very cool people and the week post tour was easily one of the best times i've had (new friendships checking out foriegn countries). I'd say that trying to start somewhere new with a language barrier and not knowing a soul is the main reasons I haven't man'd up and just gone. scares me silly. On the flip side, I'm well aware that it's those things in life that build the most character and are most rewarding. How did you come to meet and make such good friends over there? You especially seem to have a lot of friends on the car side of things. Did you meet a lot of them through your photography? Or. . . .Are you one of 'those' guys? You know the ones. . . .The ones that slip into every situation with ease and gets on with everyone straight away only to leave with with 8 promises of a bed if needed The name is Bond. . . . .Richard Bond! :laughing-smiley-014: On a more serious note - if you would prefer not to disclose to much personal detail in this thread, I can appreciate that. I know this is meant to be a photo diary. Not, pick Richards brain for knowledge/experience. Cheers, Matt
  22. Thanks for the comprehensive reply mate. From what you are saying, I'm in a very similar situation as you but i'm very frugal with money (if I'm honest with myself) and I need to build up some balls and dive in. I've done a little traveling and it is by far the best times I've ever had which Is why I'm a bit envious and asked the question! + I had arranged to go to japan for a month and a half in january but my mate that I was going to travel with has been stung rather heavily over the worlds finaincial situation causing the trip to be put on the back burner . Enough of my jiba jaba in your thread! So, cheers for a great thread because I know it drives me a little bit to get out there
  23. What is wrong with the standard one? just bypass what used to feed the Hi-cas to the cooler and the outlet of the cooler runs back to the reserviour already! easy
