  1. As above, it should be relatively simple to wire the sheild solonoid up to your normal high beam switch/stalk!

    Ohhh No....

    Phat with a "PH"
  3. Small bit of side info for the guys that were asking earlier = The bi-xenon headlights don't in fact work as a high beam technically. The way it works is, as with all BMW headlights they have a shield if you will that creates that horizontal to the centre of the light then angled up to the left by blocking the light from the top half of the parabolic lense. Early xenons have this as well. With both these systems when you turn your highbeams on - the lowbeam remains on unaltered but your inner high beam comes on With bi-xenons - lowbeam is on as normal with sheild in place. Turn high beam on and high beam light (halogen) illuminates but you low beam sheild folds up to unleash the full wrath of the xenon light. It is physically imposible to just switch on and off xenon in a high beam even with the 40,000volt ignitors bolted to the back of them. They would simply go pop.
  4. Another cool trick if you are not sure if you have the correct type or not enough coolant consentrate in your system is to put your multimeter onto amps, Positive in the COLD coolant (radiator cap) and negative to earth! Under 200 milliamps is OK and anything over 200 milliamps most likely means you have some electrolicess going on = bad Two metals (cast block, alloy head) together with water have a chemical reaction causing an electric charge which means your inhibitors (glycol) aren't working properly with the compositions of the metals which causes rust and corrosion - only a general rule Make sure when you flush the system - the thermostat is out and you flush the heater core as well My coolant (water really) came out Brown when i first did it after importation
  5. PM spoolup - He has a mint R33 S3 GTR seat Look on his web site
  6. Spray it mat black! You laugh but I sore an R32 the other day that looked very tough! It actually had clear coat!
  7. Can I ask If anyone has encountered any P/S leaks at the new hose joint? As all the factory hydralic lines have a sealing beed on the end of the pipe work to prevent leaks occuring but by cutting the pipe work it doesn't have this feature! Pretty sure i have the tool to "squish" the pipe longitudinally but was curious wether any one had had any leakage?
  8. Just bought a few things off Kris! Pleasure to deal with!
  9. I doubt anyone will buy with out pics! Not being a smart arse!
  10. GTRs are a blast to drive when you don't own them but are getting old and very expensive! On the flip side, now I've driven an R32 with an RB25 incerted, it also was an absolute blast with well sorted suspension and brakes i'd have it any day over a GTR! But it comes down to preference = YOURS. So I say, Drive both and make your own mind up. I'm sure someone on these forums would be willing to take you for a spin sometime!
  11. A phone number and contact times might make things easier too buddy!
  12. SydneyKid and whiteline are your friend
  13. No offence but thats why there is a Nissansilvia.com and this is Skylinesaustralia
  14. What he needs to do is = 1. Buy a new turbo to satisfy his thirst for power and 2. Sell me his turbo so I can satisfy my thirst for power!
  15. Why don't you take a step back on turbo size and change your powerful GTR into a response monster GTR. Sacrifice some peak power to spread it through the rev range and earlier spool. Just a suggestion. I would imagine it would be a totally different animal to drive! Through a friend of mine, I get to drive some really well prep'd cars and I absolutely love responsive cars rather than the huge horsepower cars as they feel faster and much more enjoyable to toy around in! But i'm not a straight line man, I like curves.
  16. So does my R32, so do ALL bmw's, So do Mercs! There would be litterally hundreds of dual head light vehicles that the low beam remains active when the high beam is actived. As a mechanic, i'm actually more surprised that R33 do that because i've never seen my friends use their high beam nor have I come accross it before!
  17. Loose the vents! IMO, N1 vents look tacky on any car including GTRs' but I prefer an understated look. An assasin in a tux if you will! Clean, unassuming but sharp on the outside, deadly under the bonnet!
  18. Next to Calamvale!

  20. everyone for your leads! Thats fantastic news that Geoff is going to make more. I will indeed get in touch with him!
  21. I had seen plenty of cut bars but they where all nasty! So when I decided to do mine, i wanted it formed to feed/trap the air to go through the intercooler and when searching for anyone else that had done it I came accross GTS26's photos which is exactly how mine now looks but with an almost factory looking plastic meshing of all holes (M-spec bar) and a Genuine GTR intercooler for the stealth application. A design which has proven its worth when pulled over I've been waved through and even exclaimed once that I had a "nice, tidy ride" much to my amazement! I also took the design a little further and made the hole in the front bar smaller than the intercooler core and getting the form work angled back out to the size of the core and beyond the core which is a proven method of getting air trapped to flow through the core for maximum cooling efficiency and by having a smaller mouth create a ventury(spelling?) effect speeding up he air to pass through as well. I only paid $250 painted. How can you go wrong?
  22. Like most on these forums, I've been plagued with the desease known as Hi-cas since the day I bought it! To my dismay, I seem to have left my run a bit late as GTRgoeff has discontinued his production of Hi-cas lock bars until he gets up here or maybe indefinitely! i've approached several performance garages and online shops for the lockbar all advertised for $170-180 delivered if necessary but no one actually has stock and there supplier (the local fabricator) is stuffing them around! All others I've seen have been dodgey backyard mock ups. I'm getting the same story and it feels like ground hogs day! So. . . Does anyone know where I can get hold of a "quality" lockbar for my R32 ?????? Cheers in advance
  23. Central locking!
