That looks nice! Does anyone have a list of capeable clusters that can fit in a A31...... Its so old and out dated haha....and i havent found any aftermaket clusters either....

Hi guys, im currently living out of Aus for a few years and would like to pick up a cheap car for daily driving and fun cruising on the weekend. I have average experience with cars and do alot of reading on specs/stats etc. I would like to know some pros and cons from users here in regards to buying a 2nd hand cefiro with one of these turbo engines. Im a big fan of these 3 engines and there is a large supply of cefiros for sale with these engines available in them. Now obviously it depends how good the work has been done on the car, but for now i would like to be able to narrow my search on them. It will most likely be personal preference of which engine, but in regards for maintenance etc and less issues of modified engines i have heard the 1jz is quite reliable. Rb25 would be great, and the 2jz has always made me cream myself as a youngster watching my first mkiv supra fly by...... If anyone has experience in these engines in a conversion point of view, especially in a cefiro could you please let me know. I would be driving manual. A few of them have had LPG conversions too.....im not too fond of the idea and i have done some googling on LPG tubo cars, but could i get some light shed on the idea of LPG in a turbo car. The reason for buying a cefiro is because years ago they were a bigger import here and anything such as a skyline, or silvia/s14/180sx are a few thousand $ more than the cefiros that have had some slight work........hence the choice of the A31. I have drivin in some old soarers and a chaser. Ive never drivin a rb25det. They are all fun to ride in but now that im looking at 1 chasis and have to choose which engine its quite difficult! I enjoy my cars and im not too biased about them. Dont be upset or biased about a nissan running a toyota engine please!! Just give me your thoughts from a tuners POV. Thanks heaps! Any help will be much appreciated.

yea ahaha im not even going to go there. best to just wait it out and get a gtt... unless i get a na 180 or somethign fun to drive for 1.5 years....

from what i remember there is a full carbon body kit for alot cheaper than that in a HPI issue a few months back with a matt black gtr...ill find it and post what i find!

yea true. have you seen the r34 front only? not wide fenders etc? aggroman got a new red r34 with the gtr front. i didnt notice any difference in the fenders like the eastbear kit...or bonnet

yea in one of the full sets it was like $13k! dunno why it was that much though.

these days with the exchange rates so F'd up i wouldnt be buying anything from OS tbh.... i wish it effected japan more than us. we were going well a few months ago.....

best chance is to go look at their car and hope it says gtv on the plate! and try and get away with a cheap sale on it too!

yea. would you prefer turbo conversion or engine swap from gtt+ transmission.brakes and later on clutch...

ahh i didnt think it would be worse than a conversion! if thats the case i wont bother....shame though. I was thinking about a 180sx. but r34 is newer and i love the shape etc. Also the thought of having a car for about a year then having to try and sell it is quite annoying. i hate time wasters that test drive it etc. id rather just trade it in( which is probably what i might do. get the gtt with a 2-3 year warranty isnt a bad idea....) and i aggree with not stepping straight into turbo cars. There are so many P platers that step straight in to a trubo car and its hard to walk away when your cars head is in a tree.

yea i agree! i just posted a new thread in the turbo section. was wondering about de turbooing and other mods on a gtt and raising the compression rate to make it drivable.... wondering if anyone has tried this..

well i would go to the rta to find out. and get whatever papers i need. also engineers slips once the UN-build is done.. and tbh its not the cops im that worried about. its the insurance companies ahaha if i crashed and they tried to not pay up.....

I know there are many threads about 25gt turbo conversions etc overall the conversion would seem like a fun project but in the end id probably prefer the performance i could get from modifying a stock 34gtt. anyway my point is has anyone here with a gtt removed the turbo and components and raised the compression ratio? im starting to think it might be getting a bit more popular because there are so many of those on their p's still and looking to drive a gtt but at the moment can only drive a non turbo. if so how much would it cost to raise the compression ratio? and what else is involved. All help appreciated, Brad. ps. id hate to buy a 25gt now and sell it in 1.5 years time and have the cost depreciated and have to fork out more for the turbo car. also id hate to go through selling my car that i would be attached to, for the same model car and worry about their differences etc...

hope you get your turbo! im starting to think if its worth buying my 25gt and holding it for a year and then turbo conversion.... maybe i should just buy a 180sx and wait it out till the start of 2010 for a gtt...... not sure what to do because r34s are so attractive!

yes i know that.... i just want strong car for street and also for cruising. how much psi could i safely raise it too without a fuel pump? but if i installed: New Turbo(not sure which size) they come stock with a t25 or 28? FMIC Exhaust EBC ECU Injectors Air Intake

yea my local Asian newspaper shop doesnt supply it anymore. so i had to go to a bigger news agency and they stock it there. good luck finding it ehehe

i wonder if it would actually go ahead in main cities? jeez... these guys recieve enough tax from ciggies and speed cameras. now they need noise camers....haha
