  1. Check out this thread as I am hoping someone can tell me what I can do, or have done wrong... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/O2...d3-t201993.html Is there anything else I am supposed to do? I've scanned through the (25 page!) sticky but don't know if I have done something wrong... Some posts have suggested resetting the ECU but I thought the paper clip short did that upon restart anyway!!! I don't really want to disconnect the battery and stomp on the brake pedal etc etc as I have my hks ebc and Apexi RSM set up nicely!!! Please, ideas! Thanks in advance!
  2. Changed the O2 Sensor after finding Code 33 after the paper clip short trick! Used the EL Falcon one as promoted so widely on these forum. A friend has also just done this and had no issues. Had to slice and crimp wires to use Standard plug. All wires were same colour so just hooked up white/white, black/black and white white. Ran a little worse initially and so I pulled the paper clip out and the code (33) is still flashing!!! Is there anything else I am supposed to do? I've scanned through the (25 page!) sticky but don't know if I have done something wrong... 3. As a new owner this would be great. I'm sure there's plenty to learn. If one stag gets a stare or ten every day, imagine how confused people would be to see 15! Anyway, if I can come, I will. Gold Coast venue and a Sunday morning and I'll be there!
  4. Coilovers are 4.4kg front and 3.7 rear. Slightly firmer in the fronts than the Tein GT Wagons, and slightly softer in the rears (GT Wagons are 4kg/4kg!) Happy for straight swap with no cash adjustment now! Swap for aftermarket susp only, not stockies, unless cash involved... Ta!
  5. Mods can close this! Decided to change suspension instead of kit! Thanks for your interest!
  6. OK, got it! Thanks fellas... Now, Code 33, ..... Oxygen sensor!?! Great!
  7. If I disconnect the battery etc I'm going to have to reconfigure the RSM, the ttimer, the EBC, the stereo, the clock, etc so how can I extract the error codes without doing the battery thing. My R33 had the old 2 wire in grey connector trick that worked a treat, but there's nothing I can see in the fuse area that looks like that... HELP! I have searched for over an hour without much luck. Have downloaded all the english stagea fuse info etc. I assume it's similar for R34 owners!?! Anyone! Ta...
  8. Thanks pixel8r... we're getting slightly off topic so I won't do much more than answer your question. Yes, with T/C off it will definitely break into wheelspin from rest once the auto reaches 3000rpm on a wet rd. With T/C on, as it is when you turn the key each start, it will electronically control it and avoid wheelspin. The AWD vs RWD argument is covered in other threads and could only be properly sorted if 3 Stageas, an S2 RS4, an S2 RS4 S and an S2 RS V with same or no mods did a track, drag and road test. Your S2 seems to have similar mods to mine, the main diff being the weight of RS4 (110kg), which may explain the vast diff b/w the 0-100 figures you quote and the ones I have. As for weight making the car more stable as a RWD in a Stag as opposed to a Skyline, I've owned both and yes, you are partly correct, but it's the Tiptronic 'box more than anything which avoids the 'accidental drift' personality of an R33 GTS-T. Certainly if my car was a manual I would expect to have to work a lot harder (more fun though!) to get the thing off the line smoothly like an RS4 or T/C fitted RS V... The main reason for this thread seems to be M35 comparo's and from the post by ausis I am guessing that weight still handicaps what should have been an improved performance credential. I'd say rolling starts would be a different story though as the M35 has 400Nm, more than 65 Nm more than a C34 Neo!
  9. OK... Some great knowledge and some excellent info. I have had an SAFCII on a previous S1R33 4 Dr I owned and it was great to have that knock reading but it kind of became something I watched and worried about all the time. Plus, where could I get one, even second hand in NNSW or SEQLD for less than $400 installed??? They're quite expensive... and then you have to have somebody tune it who knows what they're doing... Could my HKS Supersequential BOV be affecting on boost behaviour??? I've read it somewhere that the Neo doesn't like aftermarket BOV's... Ta!
  10. My S2 RS V has an HKS EVC4 Boost Controller and regularly, whether on low boost (0.55bar) or high (0.8bar), and not every time, it will have what seems like an ECU dictated fuel cut, momentarily but completely cutting power for a half second or more. It happens when boosting hard or slightly backing off after a foot-flat overtake. Have done a search about R&R and Fuel cut on Neo engined Nissans and it seems it is a fuel cut. Most solutions presume no aftermarket boost controller so I thought I'd ask what you guys and girls think. The car was just dyno-tuned 3 weeks ago and has had th'body cleaned, plugs, oil etc. A/F ratios are all good at both high and low boost settings. Don't want to push the turbo or risk detonation at all but would like to leave these power cut moments behind. Would a Fuel Cut Defender serve its purpose here? Has anyone fitted the Jaycar FCD Kit ($19.95)? If so, how well did it work? Anyone selling an HKS one? Since I am only, according to my boost gauge, around 0.7bar max (10psi), and have a GTR33 cooler setup, I doubt I am endangering either turbo or engine life... Thoughts?!?
  11. Here's a qik coupla piks of the rear right coilover... Seems to be similar to the fronts, not a fork. Does anyone know of any other Nissans these brilliant coilovers will fit into? Seems I need to widen my search! Am back on the Tweed Coast now (flooded in today!) so if you live in Bris or on GCoast I am happy to meet you and show you how awesome these things handle!
  12. pixel8r - PM me about this grounding of the boost solenoid thing. Is it S1 specific or for the S2 Neo as well - might explain a few things I've noticed with my S2 lately... Anyway, I have an Apexi RSM which came on the car - a RWD S2 RS V. I had to set it up and calibrate revs to speed etc but it seems very accurate in terms of the stopwatch and actual speed measurements. When I have compared it to the freeway odo checks and digital checks it seems 100 km/h indicated on both my RSM and actual speedometer equates to 101 or 102 actual so it may be 'over-accurate'. Have only done 4 runs but have been very consistent times even though I tried both Tiptronic and Drive. I should say that my Stagea has an HKS ebc set (on high) at 0.85bar (12.3psi), has a GTR33 'cooler and Nismo exhaust, a Cusco Diff, stock airbox and snorkel, HKS BOV and 2 cats (!). I haven't yet had the road for a 0-400m but I ran four runs with 0-100km/h over two days... all high fives with the best being in 'D', at 5.70sec. I'd say a stock Neo RS4 would run closer to 7.5 and a stock RSV 7.1, as a guess... I'm more of a 'Tell us what it ACTUALLY did down the quarter' kind of guy so I'll let you know when it comes back from Willowbank. Shooting for low 14's. Some people say Stag's are heavy and slow but the 220kW 535i is 1535kg (low/flat 14's), the new Aurions are 200kW and 1600+kg (high 14's) and my RS V has over 240kW at 0.6bar (S1 172kW, S2 206kW), and weighs 1540kg (S1/2 RS4 1650kg). People have mentioned RS4's traction advantage in wet etc but with t/c on or off I haven't had any grip or (unintentional!) traction issues - especially since I value my Tiptronic transmission too much to ever muck around with stalling it up or slamming it into 'D'! Love to know what an M35 with a few mods would do. It's definitely heavier though! C'mon guys, there must be more of you who have 'borrowed' it back from the wife to see what it will do! Get the stopwatches out!
  13. Hey that was me! Pretty funny coz I had just looked at the thread for the first time the night before and told my wife about it. The next day I get this note on my windscreen and she was amazed at the coincidence. Yeah the Impul seats are special but it's a pity the wheels and kit take the attention off the Brembos and GTR 'cooler... Also, that may have been me on Burwood H'way last week if it was Thursday, although if I was in a hurry it was only to the speed limit as Vict roads are quicksand to unwary speeders! It's crazy trying to stay within 5% of the limit with no cruise!!! On our way from Melb back thru Sydney to NNSW Wed - Fri so may even be 'spotted' again yet! Hope to be able to 'spot' someone else soon...
  14. Should fit ALL RSFours S1 and S2 I'm told... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Te...-h-t199188.html Ta! PS Lovin' our stagea now that we've got to know each other! Power, Querying looks/comments, Practicality, Sound, Handling etc! Awesome!!!
  15. Tein HA/HR Coilovers off my recently imported Stagea S2 - For Sale or SWAP! Dampening adjustment etc. Comes with original manual (in Japanese!). SWAP preferred!!! If this wasn't our family car I would definitely be keeping them but although this car seems to have been set up perfectly for race/drift, we live on some bumpy old country roads and they are not really practical for daily drives out to our property... Open to offers but looking for non-standard shocks springs. Something that will handle better than stockies, but not as firmly as coilovers. My Stagea is an RSV but it has RSfour strut towers and suspension. Ideally, I'm looking for a swap for Bilstiens etc and a little bit of cash my way ($500...ish). Currently holidaying in Melbourne and will also be in Sydney for a day or two so come around for a drive in the car and if we like each others sussie we can arrange a quick switch!!! PM Me or call 0410420829 In Melb until January 2. Ta! [attac ment=135691:065.jpg][attac ment=135694:061.jpg]
  16. What does it FEEL like when you hit rich & retard??? Is it similar to the feeling of hitting the top speed limiter? Like an instant power cut for like a second or so??? My boost controller says I'm only boosting to 0.85 bar but even on lower boost of 0.6 it will still do this occasionally! Ta! Merry Xmas all!
  17. Definitely has WGC stamped everywhere. Plus, did a FAST Search on another thread and came up accurate - RS V RWD Sonic Silver Oct 1998. Definitely has no front driveshafts currently. Wouldn't know how to check if it used to! Definitely has operational traction control. (I switch it off every time I drive it!) Will be handy on wet days though with 219rwkW!!! Let me know your theory, Darrin. PM me if you want. I have a few theories of my own! The Cusco diff kind of confirms my thinking on the car's setup. Is there any chance that there was a small release or a small number of early S2's that used the 4WD front strut/suspension etc? I wonder if there are any 4WD S2 owners who would now want to to a full swap. Not sure of spring rate, but it's very firm. Zero body roll. Handles more like a track car than a family wagon, although my wife says my modified civic is still more of a bone-rattler!!! After some aftermarket style suspension, but slightly softer and higher! Offers?
  18. So I assume the little steering wheel symbol is just below the number denoting what gear you're in. Anyone who can confirm? Still interested in how my RS-V came to having the unser-bonnet architecture of an RSFour! Anyway, had the car in for a dyno tune and new fluids etc today at DysonRotary on the Gold Coast. Have been wondering about the diff and the boys there told me it has a (very expensive!) Cusco "racing" differential. That's why it chatters a little when turning below 10km/h. Not sure what boost it was running because my wife picked up (her) car and dyno sheet. I told them I wanted to keep it below 13psi but it still made 259rwhp on original tune and 294rwhp with A/F ratios and boost adjusted. That's more than I expected, although I've had enough cars to realise one dyno run is no sure bet of a car's actual performance. It's very strong though and 'seat of the pants' feels quicker than my slightly modded GTST R33's. Think the intake pipe is sucking shut sometimes though! What would that feel like and is there any way to tell for sure that that is what is happening? Ta! Suspension offer still open!
  19. Could somebody please check out my VIN No.... WGC34072775 Thanks! PM Me!
  20. Anyone got a pic of what the dash light should look like when you press the steering wheel toggle button on the console - just so I can see where it is and what it is supposed to look like... Ta!
  21. OK so I am strting to spin out a bit. Now I research my cars pretty well and can tell you details of plenty of Nissan and non-Nissan vehicles but, Darrin, you seem to know your way around these Stags! I've gone thru a bunch of pics on my MacBook and searched carsales and cannot find another RSV with the same strut towers as mine. I also noticed the east/west orientation on my fuse box is same as 4WD. I don't know what to say! I couldn't even find a S2 Stagea with WGC in the VIN/chassis no. My boys are asleep but I'll be taking a good look around the new wagon tomorrow. Anything else I should look out for??? When I get back from VIC in new year I will have to meet up with you so you can cast your eye! I found the receipts for everything on my car today, well almost. I don't have receipt for the GTR33 Brembos or GTR33 'Cooler, but have all the manuals for the stereo, Nismo exhaust, Apexi RSM, HKS SuperSequential BOV, HKS EVS, HKS TT, and Tein Type HA/HR's. I think you may be right about them - easier to find a trade for my sussie after all!!! Mmmmmm.............. interesting!
  22. Yes, I have pressed the button on the console! From what I had read earlier there should be a light that comes on on the dash when I press that button but no light comes on so maybe that button is the issue! If not, there must be a connection problem in the steering wheel itself. Either way, since there was a Nismo Sports wheel on there before, the previous owner may have cut some wires here or there and I'll have to find them! Otherwise I've wasted my money buying your wheel hey Darrin!!! Nah I'll figure it out! The Teins are firm, and I like them, it's just that to give them some chance to work properly within their range they need to be wound a little lower, which will bring my front bar and skirts just that bit too close to the ground. Definitely a RWD RS-V. I know this for a few reasons, other than the belief that it would be a dumb trick to try and pull. Firstly, in the underbonnet fusebox it has no 4WD fuses. Secondly, I had it on the weighbridge yesterday and without me in it it was 1550kg (4WD are 1650+kg in S2). Thirdly, and I'm not certain this is proof positive, having never driven a 4WD Satgea, it will step it's tail out in first with the traction control switched off. Question: I believe most S2's are LSD. Is that true? How can I know if mine has original LSD. I have noticed on tight 3 pt turns, especially in reverse, the rears will chatter, slip and complain. My neighbour has 2 cars with (welded) locked diffs and they do this too. I just thought, putting 2 and 2 together, with the susp., the strobe neon controllers, RWD, and some of the interior mods - I don't know - drift??? But I thought that drifting with a locked diff was more difficult??? Anyway, love to know if other S2's, esp. RS-V's, do the same on gravelly surfaces or in reverse. Question for ryan1600, can fulcrum not only soften the spring rate, but raise the ride height using the same struts??? That could be great if it could work! Ta! Here's a couple more pics of my Teins, eng bay and the chassis no.
  23. Don't think it's bulb-related since ALL dash backlights are out. Would be more an issue under the dash (in the swarm of wires) or under the bonnet. With all the wire removal and snipping that takes place (especially the 2 unknown units which were probably linked to either interior, exterior or both lights) who knows if it's maybe just something simple. I can't imagine ALL globes would be out, but possible!
  24. Just picked up our Stagea 2day and it's as clean as a whistle inside and out, drives brilliantly, gets up and goes, and feels very light on its feet for a 1540kg car (it's an RS V, RWD), and the Brembos are awesome once they heat up!!!, but there are a few issues. The coilovers are wound up as high as they can go without wrecking them and the full Dolphin bodykit still sits a bit too low. ISSUE ONE: Our country driveway is not suited to the height, although I can get up and down the gutter and driveway at normal speed and angles, thankfully. The coilovers (Teins - have yet to get an exact model no. but will in the next few days!) are quite firm on the mid dampener seting they came on and the car just corners rock flat!!! Awesome! (My wife would prefer softer ride to better handling though and it's her daily driver) OFFER ONE: Looking to see if anyone has an S2 with not-so-low sussie in excellent condition (so that it's not going to cost me any money for years for springs or shocks!!!) which they wish to swap with some small change my way. The car is 30 mins south of the Gold Coast for another 2 weeks and then I am driving thru Sydney to Melb for 2 weeks over Xmas, so plenty of options. Would want the 'donar' to organise fitting and could only do it in Sydney or Melb on an "all-in-a-day" arrangement... PM me your offers/ideas! The Teins are in great nick according to the guys who complied the car. Travelled much less than the 59,000 km on the odometer. Not really after plain stock sussie as the shocks could be pretty worn without you knowing it. Offers welcome though, and stock sussie with more cash may (possibly) twist the arm, who knows?!? Especially if the shocks/springs were brand new or slightly firmer than stock... ISSUE TWO: The Garage Impul front Rearos are just awesome too! We are both fairly small people and the hip-hugging thigh support is second only to the EVO XI.5 Makinens I used to have. The seats are in near perfect condition. With the 18's and the Teins, these seats are only adding to my wife's concerns about it's rigid ride, though! OFFER TWO: Would consider a swap for standard S2 seat if they were in excellent nick and has the same pattern as my door cards and back seats - with cash my way of $1200ono. Ask around what they are worth, or llok on YahooJpan and you will see this is quite a cheap deal! PM Me! ISSUE THREE: Quite a few things electronic on the car are not functioning properly. The backlighting on the speedo is OUT, so I can't see how fast I'm travelling at night (until I reset my Apexi RSM), which is the biggest problem. The Xenons are GONE! leaving the height levelling switch useless, and the buttons on the steering wheel to change the tiptronic gears are not functioning at all!!! The car has these two weird units by Carrozzeria on the side of the central glovebox between the seats which seem to have controlled strobe light or something. There's wires everywhere under the bonnet and the compliance workshop seems to have just CUT wires that weren't needed. I still have to untuck all the gauges etc from behind the dash!!! Any ideas about the st wheel and the backlighting guys??? HELP! Oh and the guy left a MiniDisc in the car with Japanese hiphop and techno - funny!
  25. Still Keen! Plenty of folk offering just the airbox/filter for a really good price but I would prefer to buy the snorkel with the airbox! Anyone!?! (Would consider an aftermarket cold air box second hand also) BUMP...
