When are the Video stores - Blockbuster, VideoEzy etc - going to wake up and hire these out? They'd make a mint! And, sure private sales of these things may drop initially, but when the Import DVD producers realise they have 5000 video stores wanting copies, I'm sure they wn't mind!!! I've got a few DVD's but I can't afford to spent $40 every time a new one comes out! How can we get this message thru??? iijj

I have a K&N pod which will bolt straight up to the standard R33 GTST intake piping which I would like to swap for a new or newish reusable/washable standard panel filter (not paper!). If anyone is interested, I'm in Brisbane and just want to keep the standard airbox so here's a great deal for anyone after a used K&N pod in very good condition!!!! iijj [email protected]

R32/r33 Gtr Parts & R33 Exhaust
iijj replied to jwah's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Would need to know DEFINITELY if it fits a GTST before I even think about any other questions! That's pretty important info! iijj -
I bought a catback for my last R33 on this website 2 years ago. I'm after something similar, although the last one was fully polished - Fujitsubo 3.5! It cost $450 second-hand and I'm after something fairly similar. I also have an Apexi muffler - 2.5 in and 7.0 out!!!! Polished , too! It must be worth $750 new! I'd trade for a catback, with some cash if the system was worth it! also, if you just have some piping, mild steel is fine, from cat to rear muffler that is already shaped for an R33 and ready to weld up to my Apexi, that could work, too! Options! PM me or post here! Anyone!?! Willing to drive into NNSW if necessary! iijj

Too heavy aren't they!!!??? And much more pricey than they deserve... In 12 months time I would guess they will be selling, on average, for more than 7K less than the 25K most dealers are offering them for now! Pity! (and they're almost all auto - like 99.9%!). iijj

CLUTCH??? IN 4TH and 5TH???
iijj replied to iijj's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Bummmmmmmer........ So, anyone know a decent place to price a clutch up here in Brissie??? I don't think I can afford a heavy duty clutch if they're $900 fitted!!! How much do the standard clutches go for, including fitting, and ... where should I get one??? I hardly ever drop the clutch in first, but I don't want it to blow again inside a couple of years either. Would I be better with a heavy duty item??? I'm only producing around 140KW atw... Suggestions... iijj PS Hey, how long, if I nurse it somewhat, until it will give up altogether??? -
I have just this week noticed that when my R33 GTS-T hits boost (only 10 psi) at around 3000rpm in 4th or 5th gear (under moderate to heavy throttle) that the revs initially rise quickly (without as much thrust!) and then dip slightly before continuing to boost OK... Could this be the clutch slipping??? It feels a lot like it, but I've only ever blown clutches (admittedly in FWD cars) in lower gears and usually when revs are high!!! Is it the torque that causes the clutch to slip??? It doesn't slip and dip in any lower gears!!! Could it be a boost pressure issue??? I have a basic bleed valve installed. I can't think why this would cause this but I'm certainly no mechanic!!! IDEAS??? I already did some searches and came up empty!!! Ta! iijj

How much are they to buy second hand??? Is it worth looking into any other options??? First prob I've had with car in 13 mnths since purchase.... Anyone been thru this b4??? Done a few searches but came up with very little! HELP! iijj

YBSL04 Recently put on an SAFCII ($500 on ebay plus $250 for fitment and 2 hr dynotune = $750) and with only a bleed valve and cat-back, found 40+rwkw from 3500rpm to redline. Admittedly it was seriously overfueling and should probably have made only half that difference, but the smoothness, the simplicity, the adjustability, the ability to keep an eye on pinging, the cool blue screen etc. Why go to unichip? These Apexi things are basically made for skylines and other jap perf cars... Otherwise, to get serious, double your outlay and go with FC! Luck... iijj

blx... Done anything to the GTST or WRX??? Helps to compare! I've been looking at a WRX simply because the wagon can carry more gear! I love my 4dr and have driven both and agree with everything you have said... if both cars are standard!!! With kid's seat in the back now I have to consider space though! Still thinking... iijj

Very happy with my newly installed (today!) SAFCII! Check out the results in the other thread in this section called "Questions about SAFCII". iijj

Hey - got my SAFCII fitted & tuned today! Very happy with results. Mech. told me I should have used the Power FC instead - I said he shoulf pay me the two grand!!! Anyway, I had a massive (read BIG) overfuelling problem on standard settings and the graph rose to about 90rwkw then dived at 4500ish rpm (falling below 70 rwkw) only to recover to 93ish at high revs. YUK!!! I knew that "boost was more than BANG...whimper...splutter! So, at the same boost (10psi) it now looks (and feels!) the business with a smooth curve all the way to 6600ish rpm and 137rwkw. At 5500rpm it's now making 51 more KW! ! ! ! ! ! Money well spent it seems. What a relief! The air-fuel ratios were previously dipping below 9.0:1 from 4500, and all the way to redline. With ratios now in the 13:1 to 11:1 range through the boost range, the engine can finally breathe! Not bad for less than $800 altogether, including fitting and tuning!!! The peak figure seems a little low compared to some of the guys on this forum, but I have tuned my previous car on three dynos, and the last was on this guys. My little NA VTEC produced 95+rwkw on two dynos, and then 77rwkw on this guys, so I've got a feeling it's one of those "conservative" figure producing dynos. Maybe I've got 150rwkw - who knows? - and who cares now that I've got the whhoooooossshhh back - and the punch wherever and whenever I need it. iijj PS wonder what 11psi feels like....hmmmm....just for a blat, maybe!?!
