Anyone got any idea how to get hold of the mobile screensaver thingie that just says "SKYLINE" in the correct font. Have seen it on someone's phone but have only seen the GTR one for sale at diff web sites... iijj

REV210 I've read heaps of your stuff and it looks like you know your way around the underbonnet as much as behind the wheel.. How hard do you think it would be for a relative novice to fine-tune an SAFCII. I understand most of what it can adjust and have owned a VAFC previously so I know a little (more about the monitor mode than the setting mode but willing to learn). Finally, should I reset my ECU b4 I put the SAFC2 on??? Just put 3" cat-back on last wk... and should I try to find and check/clean my AFM b4, or just see what the mech says??? iijj

Hey that GT2 thing looks the biz too, but I want to know where you got the SKYLINE insig. for your mobile screen!?! Have only seen the GTR one b4. Another BUMP for ya! Ta. iijj

TA!!! Will have a go! Will I be able to reduce the size of a jpeg there too, or is this simple?!!? iijj

Getting my SAFC2 fitted in Bris next wk at Charlie's Motors. Very professional and comprehensive dynoing. Had my previous model fitted there last year and the guys specialise in Apexi gear and skylines. The guy who actually tunes the cars (Charlie's son) owns and races hos own 'line. Takes a good two to three hours to fit and tune right - all up, $250, max, guaranteed! And these guys really know what they're doing... Now, if only he can get rid of that flat spot b/w 4500 and 5500 rpm - finally - and get me those 25 rwkw everybody tells me the SAFC2 will net me!!! Fingers crossed! Located around the corner from the GABBA in the city! Book early though as there's usually a 2-3 wk wait! Stay tuned!!! I hope this helps! iijj

1. I have been having some trouble posting a pic of my car. How do you decrease the size of a jpeg??? I have an iMac if that makes any diff.... but I still have all the usual software PC's run. 2. Also, how do I modify an image?!? For example I have been trying to cover over my no.plate B4 I post pics of my car, but it seems like if I do it in Word the person who then views the pic in Word can simply remove the black covering an see my plate!!! Any ideas! Ta iijj

honda civic turbo
iijj replied to Bo0sT_JuNkY's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Is it a Vtis, an Si or a Breeze?!? What sort of cooler (cut down truckie?)? Exhaust/cat? Km's? Dyno or Quarter mile times? How long has it been turbo'd? PM me if you like. May be looking for a car for my wife! iijj -
Check out www.targa.org.au Who knows what sort of driver Greg Johnston is, but I bet he's havin' the time of his life! It's the first GTS-T I've seen in the event ever, and I watch it closely every year. Lots-o-rain on first 2 days so the 4 wheel drive cars have a huge advantage. Today's results have been postponed until tomorrow but check out Leg 1 (yesterday) or each indiv stage of Leg 2 (today) for a look at how it's faring. Seems to be comparible to the Integra Type R in pace so far. There are two factory XR6 Turbos in the race, one driven by Hoinville that is moderately warmed over, and a fairly stock one with the MOTOR Editor Taylor, at the wheel. They're both doing quite well. Most of the factory cars (like McConville in the new Astra Turbo) seem to have the GUN drivers though, so I'm not sure what sort of a guide the whole thing is. Pretty interesting though. The GTS-T is car no.832. You gotta be envious of these guys!!! Open, winding, clean and testing roads, short bursts of speed, sponsored tyres and fuel (mostly!), few regs, and no SPEED CAMERAS!!! I'd give my last freckle... iijj

Just a base turbosmart boost (bleed?) valve! Am sure an SAFC would do the trick if I could just find one beside the road or something!!! Anyone selling one for less fifty cents?!?!?! iijj

Welcome GZV... I have recently had my first baby... thus traded in my beloved DOHC Jap-spec VTEC Civic (15 sec quarters) for my black 4 dr manual, too. Turbo cars are certainly different in their power delivery. Civic made more and more power through the rev range - right up to 8700rpm! R33 gives a couple of BIG shoves, one at around 3000rpm and the next at 5500rpm. With the boost wound up a little to 10 psi I'm pretty sure the standard computer is overfuelling and retarding the timing - from what I've read here in the forum - causing a flat-spot btwn 4200 and 5500rpm. (Maybe MicK51 has a few ideas!) Hoping to get that sorted one day - hopefully soon - but probably when my boy goes to school (in 5 years!!!) and my wife goes back to full-time work!!! Who knows... Will post a foto here of my 4dr in next couple of days! Would love to do something on the track. Have taken Honda out b4 but not the 'line yet! Just for the hell of it... iijj (North of Bris)

Mechanics??? Experts?!? Anyone with a risk-factor assessment?!? iijj
-
Gun-metallic looks the toughest. Also easy to keep clean!!! (Pity my car's black!) iijj
-
Swallowed most of that! (not the fuel, the info!) Anyway, I'm a bit hesitant to open up the fuel tank. Sounds like a recipe for fried eyebrows! Are there any mechanics out there who can confirm the safety of this solution??? Oh yeah... I'm pretty sure every cars (analogue) guage will move up and down depending on nose up/down or left/right turns. I'm no physicist, but if I was I'd call it something like - I don't know - the "Slosh Effect!?!". I've noticed it in ALL my cars! Any physicists out there with the actual facts??? Thanks... iijj PS MRE - How did you get into circuit racing up here (costs - etc)? Is yours a four door, too? What mods for a 14.3?

Has anyone got any ideas about this one. Imported my R33 GTS 25T about 6 months ago and for the last two tanks, the gauge has been playing up. It shows Full on the gauge until I've done about 270+ kays, then it falls sharply until it hits the Empty mark by about 420 km! Have made no changes to car and it has only done it this time and last time! Could it be electrical??? Could it be something inside the tank?!? The only thing I can think of that I did differently during the first tank was I really "gave it some" up a twisty section of road, through tight bends and chicane-type corners when that tank was still full (only about 3 km!). Any clues??? Don't really want it to be like this permanently!!! iijj

Batmble man - where are you??? We have been stashing for your deal! Are you gonna leave without our money? Seriously - there's a few guys still hopin' to do a deal on your dumps and cats! iijj

After some help or advice... My headlights have silver internals (around the two main lamps!) as most four doors do, but I want to switch to black internals. I'm not sure if there is anyone who would like to swap. Assuming that nobody is interested, how do I go about cracking into the headlight internals so I can spray them gloss black. They seem pretty well sealed. I've heard that soarer lights and some others can be opened by putting them in an oven on 160degrees, but I don't know how long for. Besides, I have a friend who did that and gets moisture in them now!!! What should I do? Can't afford to buy the black internal ones - they're over $400 a set!!! Ideas, anyone!!! iijj
