  1. could be interesting. wonder what they are using as a base?
  2. Pick a locally branded one. Easiest way to say it publicly.
  3. Rear speaker amplifier. They all had it. Usually it gets bypassed.
  4. 4 plugs Blk - hand controls top of dash 4 pin -accessory plug 6 pin - rear spk with amplifier 12pin - main plug with front spk and main/key/antenna amp.
  5. There has been a ken wood cd changer and radio in there. Make sure the ground goes to frame and that you have not got any blown fuses.
  6. They tried several times in 2010/11/12 to get me back in. Told literally to fk off.
  7. It's on this forum. I was selling their product from 2002-2009. Was successful with it until it cost me a council contract with 10 ferries in planning to be equipped with a modified version of that system. Self monitored systems took over in reality. $5 SIM card and a cell phone dapple of yanking your car up on a map. Fleets use a variant system but the idea is the same. GPS location and VMS at the base.
  8. Parallel problem with the cube engines , they had similar issues and the car would report cam sensors faults. Turns out the tensioner and everything in line needed doing. It was more prominent with high mileage vehicles. You mechanic may be right. If the idea of getting rid of it is on the cards trade it.
  9. On a series 2 v36, $12k in bits and time. Using local NEW PARTS from the local g37 to do it. Not a used item from a wreck overseas. We have been down this road on the phone and on forums. The vast amount of people will spend $1-200 on this idea few will spend $4k none will spend $10k. Some will try rudely to get the part numbers off me and get told no. There is no cheap way out. The hacks the were done originally on the 35 series systems had a habit of reverting to boot loader due to a glitch in the hardware. Apply that same glitch to a part the RUNS the car via 3 network LANs and you are asking for trouble or even better a lawsuit when the system fails, stalls the car in an intersection and at worst gets someone hurt. Extreme case but entirely possible.
  10. Woodgrain is a dealer option. As for the Oem gear I sell it. Can ship to Sydney without issue.
  11. so what are you going to do when the unit shuts down and stops the car?
  12. Yes that was spread spectrum.
  13. Search Quiktrak and my name. You will see what went down..
  14. The ORIGINAL one did not. The last versions DID. How old was yours ? If pre 2008 then it was spread spectrum radio. If later (after I lost $65k in contracts) then they were sim based.
  15. A quick note to those finding this in google. Calling me , getting me to look at the car and then requesting all the part numbers to do the nav swap on a 2011 v36 because you think you can get the parts your self is outright rude. I am not a charity and I will not think twice about calling you out on it.
  16. I can. You lose out on a few things though.
  17. Correct. Done properly with a decent unit flatbed will be the only way it moves. Yours wont move in a hurry , we both know why. Countermeasures on countermeasures , the trunk pop went over well too!
  18. ADR , tracking option and someone that can install . $5 jb installs are not the go, forget viper products unless thatcham is mentioned.
  19. Monitored security, look into fleet management companies. Same idea. Tracking only . Plenty of them around. All need Asim card.
  20. Current batch I am working on will handle USB and Bluetooth . Still working on the import side of things.
  21. So you have all the supporting hardware already to change the 6cd unit out? Got Bose? Got steering controls?
  22. It will take 8 cars to get me down again. Talk to lifted about the ins/outs of this.
  23. Quite a while yet. Daughters car and whilst everyone wants to see it finished its a $50k resto that gets done a bit at a time.
