Project 'Wheezy' Coupe
Chris Rogers replied to Wheezy's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
as for the rear geometry, nada, rear end, that's another matter. Working out how to ditch the stub axles and flip the CVs to the correct sides. I'm setting up traction control so the thing behaves and doesnt try to swap ends or snap things. Changed the throttle tos DBW (ex V35) so traction should not be an issue. Auto is being built by a 4wd guy in brisbane. (JD Transmissions in Cleveland ) He's known for putting silly engines in front of JATCO 4spds so my job is simple for him. I decided to paddle shift it as well. All in period correct form as I do. -

V36 Factory Cruise Control
Chris Rogers replied to katstudios's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I pulled the center out of a fair few of those. I got to a point that I found the OE number for that bit and the correct controls (of which there are 3 types.) no longer have the part numbers handy. -

look into the chipset I gave you. if you can fidn somethihng that spits out HDMI or similar then you can get evaluation kits for these chips. that wil give you the full resolution you are looking for. the other option is with Grom Audio and their Vlink system. in your case you would look at 2011 on for the digital screen -

proper video on those is GVIF (sony CXB1458 from memory) but yes , if you have a way to get 5 points of reference it will work fine. -

tony has it btw. ( I no longer do this for a living.) all the CHEAP $5 ideas won't work on the JDM version. been saying for years to no avail. get custom OR get teh controller out of a USDM version IDENTICAL in features to yours. from there its a software reload ex NZ and you are set. naturally this works on the later 2011 versions and NOT the earlier ones as they are a different unit. -

touch panel is 4 wire resistive. split the screen and grab the header. its spat out of the coms lines in serial format if you want to play there. -
V36 Factory Cruise Control
Chris Rogers replied to katstudios's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
you do need other parts. call the number I gave you and tell them you want them to install a cruise control for this car. tell them you have OE controls and need them installed as well. this IS NOT a DIY job. -

locally - Autostrada - 07-3852-6886 as for doing the OE controls - depends if someone in brisbane stocks them. I no longer live in Oz and no longer work on these unfortunately. NOW if you want to import a full steering wheel with the controls on it then it can certainly be done by the people I listed above. -
the issue you have is age. the parts that I used to build that one in 2011 are long since extinct. as for getting that one going. easier to shell out for a MFD and integrate that in to the dash. I am actually out of the game now and doing something entirely different. the shop in MLB is no longer around.

Ok if it's that EXACT color: go go to the dealer and order this : 68260-AL502 27500-AL501. then pick a radio of your choice. the AC buttons I have suggested are black as the sand colored ones are a NLA item now. if you have a BLACK panel the the first part changes to 68260-AL700. -

I can still do them if you are in oz. I do not take messages as I get too many can you convert my language questions ( something I have not done since 2009!!) so I have that set to off. if you want the bits then I can help. -
Look up EDI customs and speak to John Legett. He does regular back loading the LA or East coast on a weekly basis. I will tell you first hand that this will not be a $500 exercise. So be prepared for that.

v36 Japanese to English conversion
Chris Rogers replied to Matthew Boucher's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
this looks like the add on boxes out of china. so its not a fully integrated solution by the look of it. the later cars need a main controller and buttons from a Q60. job done.- 18 replies

basic GPS based unit will cover that OR cruise control. -
car will run fine. it the later 36 series chassis that has fits, 35 series doesn't care. rip the lot , start fresh. done PLENTY of them this way.

Chris Rogers replied to Wldfya's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
given the age of it, easier to strip it and swap teh radio over to something more modern. Andrew is correct. I do fly to jobs but at a price. -
short version is replace it. the system is a minimum of 11 yrs old. the first of them are long dead. I was one of hte people doing the swaps. quit as of 2009. now if you want change over parts - yes I can help with that.
