  1. if any one in brissy gets these alarms - tell me and I'll fit it.
  2. depends. mostly in a bitch of a spot that you canoot get from under the dash. no going to say where as that poses a bit of risk. some cars get the dash pulled if its a small car ( EG starlet )
  3. if brant was still in business then it would be a good thing. I remove mopre of them than I fitted originally. especially from WRXs. Mongoose alarms are the go when well fitted. toss them under the dash and I'll have it out and be driving away in a minute or less. Rotties on the back seat - yep! though I dont think my Bull mastiff would agree.
  4. deaden the boot willl ya! that would be doing some serious rattling. shane , ring be before you head over.
  5. one word: dynamat: that will kill 90% of the rattles you have. 3 sheets would do it. I sell it.
  6. cookie, close. the diversity plug has two pins on it and the two antennas share a pin each. now when you buy the adapting plug that ties them both together . the wire I mentioned earlier turns the back one on.
  7. change the ground on the radio. you are using the lights wire as the ground. run the black wire to the frame of the car. if you have an orange wire tie that to the light wire ( red/blu ) what headunit?
  8. where did the car come from? any idea how long the system has been in there? best to get in touch with the original owner on this and have them get in touch with QT. from there they can possibly tell you where everything is. there's not real reboot procedure on them.
  9. nope. thats the audio amplifier. antenna amp is in the roof or in the side panel.
  10. if its the one I'm looking at now its S African built and designed. imported by these guys is this it? http://www.tisonics.co.za/
  11. never priced one new. toyota ones are like $22 or so. didn't think they were that expensive.
  12. do the M80G this time. adds glassbreak to it. get it installed PROPERLY!! if you can see it under the dash then I can remove it in 30sec and drive off. tracking would work IF you had coverage. GSM would do it but beware of smart thieves. ( pm me if you want an explanation of this.) as for the liberty alarm, I had to disable one of these and did so in a very short timewith BOTH modules being removed from the car. clipping the internal siren took a second to do.. external I put a wet rag over.. car was started and moveable for a local shop to work on it 5 minutes later.
  13. as a point. I have fitted this system on a fleet of council ferries here in brissy. when they are set off I know it and council knows it. they had GSM units on them and they couldnt locate/track them due to interference. as for a car application: they are battery back up and the transmitter and wiring is coded as stealth. given that the unit is hidden properly they wont have time to remove the unit.
  14. $70 are you serious??
  15. $70 are you serious??
  16. randy, closr to what I was going to say. I would swap units if you have a similar one handy. all it would take is a bad earth on the amp side of things to pop the RCA shields and introduce noise into the system. try swapping units. actaully do this: radio on, unplug RCA cables. - noise? yes - amp issue ( earth or ground loop) no radio problem be it earth or burnt traces on the board.
  17. could also be a damaged headunit- have had it in several vehicles I have reworked.
  18. and I'll put a stinger on the GSM based ones. I could almost guarantee you I could take off in your car with the GSM /GPS based item on it. one little black box used in hospitals is all I would need. Quicktrak uses spread sprectrum technology. whilst GSM is on one frequency for a second or two and then hops to another ( 900mhz band) spread spectrum is transmitting on ALL frequencies 800-900mhz . theres not a lot that can be done to jam it. tracking is done via towers and they have put up a few more around sydney to my understanding. brissy have 7-8 of them that I can find with help of the QT people in sydney.
  19. be f*kcd - its not there!. drop the cluster out and look for an AC voltage of 4-6v that moves with the throttle.
  20. R33 is behind the dash - yel/red on a S1 not sure what it is on a S2. do you own a multimeter and KNOW how to use it? if no - pay a shop. you can wipe out a LOT of electrics on that car if you are not careful teh ECU bing one of them.
  21. no probs. its on most cars of that vintage with the Xenavi or clarion radio as std.
  22. red/blk is the antenna and there should be another beside it to do teh amp. post the colours up and I'll tell you. the other option is to buy the adaping plug ( $15) and you are done.
  23. and when you do the ABS system is also being fooled with..
