if you look under the rear shelf you will see a round module. that is the factory clarion amplifier. you will see the plug that goes into it . pull this plug out and do a bit of jumpering.
if you are swapping the radio then the smaller plug ( there are two.) is the rear speakers.
( can't remember the colour scheme on it - haven't done one lately..)
how big is the wire?
if you pull out the drivers inner guard you will see a body grommet towards the back - use that to get into the car. I take it you have a sedan with the battery up front.
yep the current model patrol. haven't chased a stacker cable through one yet so I'm not sure if its integrated into the harness or not. other than that they will plug in and work not sure on the stacker price. most of them didnt have it. the unit is a clarion ( not sure what yours is.)
the one in the pic you showed has steering controls on it and the power / speaker plugs no cd control.
come to think of it . hit a fw 4wd wreckers and grab the unit out of a 2001 RX patrol. theya are about $300 from memory. sam think as you have but the FM works properly.
for yours (as stated) its a drop in!. unbolt yours and plug it in. if that is a patrol one you are laughing. ( if you can find the CDstacker cable you are better off again!>)
yep its possible. you need the control box from a VP statesman or jackaroo. then you need a direct drive antenna. from there you need a small centre off rocker switch.
the idea is that your radio will put the antenna to the height you set and from there you can raise and lower it.
for the VX that function is in the BCM unit.
car wont fit in the garage with the antenna up I take it?
booster,
I'll ship these things via mail order so its not a problem
same goes for the early nissan harness adapters. (I'm a Aeropro dealer..)
good point in the antenna amp. I have found a LOT of people miss this one. FM works partially but AM won't.
the FM band will step in odd frequencies Ie 107.1 107.3 etc so that side will half work depending on what you listen to
the AM band will step in 10Khz steps.so it will not work. there is a software switch on some of them that you can switch it. ( not sure on this one as I haven't worked with it..)
in short the channel spacing is different
US uses:
FM : 200khz steps
AM 10Khz steps
AUST uses:
FM : 75 Khz steps ( and a 25Khz stop band)
AM: 9 Khz steps
considering they would get 30-50 emails a day over that topic it would be in there best interest to say sorry.
mind you I would find out who does their service work and hit it from that angle.
( sony have regional service centres and they are private companies..)
nope.
it will have to be wired in.
if you have the installation bokk that came with the unit use it along with the info above and you should be able to work it out. if in doubt dont try it.
