yep, i've tried pushing the axle down, it helps but still can't get it on! my poor baby is currently offline until i can fit it back on! btw, i have spring compressors, but u can't use them to fit the shock back onto the car as there is not enough room there for them. are u suppose to still clamp the springs and keep it on wen u fit the shock back on? thanks
-
ok getting the shock back on the car is even harder than taking it off! i was afraid of this, was so hard to get off, now its even harder to get it on. i need to compress it like 4cm to get it on. i don't have a small enough jack to fit underneath there. blind_elk can u give us a bit more info on ur idea? thanks.

thanks for the replys guys. didn't finish it in time, so drove my mums car to work only have to put it all back in now, already changed the shock absorber. bit worried about getting it back in as i had enough trouble just trying to take it out! gonna have to try some of the tips suggested. for any beginners out there wanting to change the shocks urself, i advise you to read all the tips! cheers

thanks Bl4cK32, after several "gentle" tapes with a mallet i finally got it off! just putting the new shocker in now, not too sure how tite to do it up...
-
ok here is a pic of the situation. either i'm really weak, or the springs are really stiff or both... damn, i need the car for work soon too!
-
update. ok i've got that damn bolt off now, used a long pole for extension and it finally came off. the shock is still not coming off, i've sort of moved it half way out, not i can't get it out and can't get it back in. is there anything else i need to do?
-
hey guys, i'm in the middle of changing the shocks and can't get the bottom bolt off. can someone confirm that this is the correct one. it is on VERY tight. any tips would be great too. thanks
-
good stuff dan, a step by step upgrade guide with pics would be great!

Not sure where the timings at now as i dunno how to rig up the timing gun to it as theres not spark plug leads, i remember someone else told me some other method but dunno. Anyways its a good indication of how our cars are running, and for those totally stock cars they can compare again next time they have put an exhaust or something on.
-
Hey doc, would advancing the timing a few degrees make any difference? Ever since I had my timing belt replaced the car has not been the same, wonder if that could effect anything.

Hey Greg, what was the optimal figure for the air/fuel ratios? I think that baffled hotdog i put in recently is restricting my top end a bit. Oh wells, keeps the noise levels down
-
Hey Cortide, go for it. I think ur car is running well Cortide. I didn't realise you took the eastern, I was on it too but luckily i get off on Doncaster Rd exit, just before it started to pile up. Was trying to see what had happened and could only see that some car had obviously crashed. Next time i'll put a pod on and see if it makes any difference.

Can't believe you guys all got there so early, I was the last to rock up, but then again I was working till 3am this morning ok i'm not gonna list what my car made, but i'm sure someone else will post up the results. lets say it wasn't very much, as expected i guess But by 10:30 this morning the weather reports already had the temps at 30degrees.

ok good to see a few of us going now. hope to see u all there tomorrow! battle of the n/a's
-
so far i think theres only 3 of us going? greg, Cortide and myself. not sure what happen to the people who said they would go before the server went down? i don't think i can wake up in time for 8am! i'll be there by 9 though, damn u early birds

Hey sigsputnik, has this problem been fixed by putting in a new car battery? I doubt u would need a new battery after just 2 months. Try jump start it and see what happens. Also, does the actual alarm unit have a battery in it too? My car makes that clicking noise under the dash coz the alarm is f*cked, i just disable everything and the car starts fine so i basically have no alarm atm. Just wondering if I have the same problem.

Hey guys, I need a new gearbox sump plug, the plug which u undo to fill up the gearbox with oil. Just wondering if anyone knows the part# for a manual R33 gearbox? Or is there a part from a local nissan car which will also fit? eg. the r31? My one is totally f*cked, thanks to some exhaust workshop who drained the oil for me. They couldn't get teh plug undone and rounded it, so they welded another bolt onto it. Coz of the extra bolt there, I can't fit any tools there to undo it. I figured some mechanic should be able to undo it for me, but then I'd rather replace it.

Just came back from the muffler shop. Matt was sick so he wasnt there. But the worker there, Shane looked after me. Unfortunately he couldn't give me that much of a good price, coz some boss lady was there watching. I got the catback done. They seem pretty good there and care for the car, did some good welding. nismoR34, u got a f*cken bargain on the work done with ur car!
-
went in there the other day and booked the car in for tomorrow. i'll let every know how it goes as i dunno how good a job his new staff do. im just gonna get the catback done. nismor34, he said that ur missus also has a r34 as well? lucky bugger u r
