  1. Im in the Doncaster/Boxhill area and work in Sth melb if thats closer for anyone. The muffler doesn't drone as much as the other no brand ones.
  2. I have a "Genie Turbo" stainless steel muffler from a friends car. It is suited for "N/A" cars. Inlet size looks to be around 2.25" with a 5" tip. Got a few dents and scratches, still good. Genie is a good aussie brand, here is a review review good for n/a cars as it keeps the noise level down unlike some no brand ones. email me at [email protected] it did not come off a skyline, any muffler shop and bolt it onto ur car for you. quick sale at $80 im in melb
  3. I use to get that noise with the stock exhaust, roughly around 3000 rpm that lil flap would open and make that sound. after i changed the cat back the noise was gone. could also be the rear rego plate vibrating a bit?
  4. cyco, i honestly don't think reseting the ecu does anything on the r33. although i did try it. no difference in anything.
  5. Im also interested if any of the above deals fall through. cheers email [email protected]
  6. anyone else have the old gen safc? turning the knob towards the minus leans it out correct?
  7. hey greg, with a standard skyline i guess all they can do is advance the ignition timing. i've actually got the old school generation 1 safc, the one with the knobs on it lol. theres only like 5 tuning points though. i picked it up really cheap so thought might as well give it a try. anyone else got ? u can turn it up -30 or +30, i take it when u go towards minus thats leaning it out?
  8. nar he doesn't own the boxhill store. they don't even want to mention him there. so i'm pretty he left them to open up his new store. just a bit of a pain in the ass to drive to oakleigh now. but he always gives me good prices so i'll just go and see what this new place is like.
  9. ahhh nismoR34 im very glad u posted where matt is now. coz i just went to daalder the other week to find that he was "no longer with them". i'll give him a buzz to do my catback. cheers.
  10. oh btw, my fuel economy is really poor now. when i first got my car stock as a rock, i got like 10kms from 1 litre which i thought was really good. put pod on went worst, extractors on gone worst again. i think my car needs a tune. i'm going to pop down to bmt soon.
  11. hey guys, i've finally fitted the coby extractors on the car. cost $99. car is much more responsive from around 2500 rpm. i've ended up taking the pod filter off and putting the stock box on with trust panel filter, the sound is soo lound with the pod on! only prob i have now is that for some reason it hangs low like dogs balls and scrapes on my driveway not sure which part exactly is scraping, i suspect its the part where it bends. gotta get outta the car and have a proper look.
  12. i think they should be gapped to about 1.05mm, i just have coppers in mine.
  13. heheh thats a lot of maybes akeenan. nar the battery in the remote is fine, i tried the spare as well. plus it was playing up after that, sometimes it would work sometimes it wouldn't. you would here the motor in the doors try to open but just wouldn't. but then after i unpluged the battery, nothing worked lol. thanks for the contact DJ_L3ThAL, i'll give the guy a call soon. dont like having the car parked out on the street late at night with no alarm at all.
  14. btw, i think i have a thorn alarm, immobiliser and shock sensor. just standard stuff.
  15. hey guys, my alarm is buggered. one night afterwork (there was a huge storm, rain pissing down, dunno if its related) came out and my alarm light was flashing rapidly. press the buttom to dis-arm the car, nothing happened. no beep or anything. ended having to unlock the car manual and then disable the immobiliser before i could start the car. is there anything obvious i can check? i thought i'd try reset it by disconnecting the battery, this has only made things worse. it use to still lock and unlock the car, but now wen i press the button it doesn't do anything. can anyone point me to a decent person who could check it for me. cheers
  16. thanks the info. makes it easier when you have instructions to follow.
  17. yeah that damn filler plug is on SO tight, bloody thing won't budge at all. dunno how the hell im gonna get that undone. so was thinking if theres another method i'd try it. but then how would you know that its full?
  18. Jay95R33 can you give some more info about this method of filling it up inside the car? i can't get the damn bolt off from underneath.
  19. thanks. i had a look on the wkend and have decided to take it to the pro's to do. i think pedders charge $65 per shock which i think is a bit steep. i'll ring up some other places and see how much they charge.
  20. Hello guys, I want to change the front shocks and was wondering if it is something you can do on ur own. what are ur recommendations? easy job even for a novice? do i need a spring compressor or anything like that? can someone give me really detailed step by step guide to doing it. cheers
  21. Price i was charged is: Nissan timing belt $102. Labour including 3 other belts $330 (250 + 80). Coolant $25. Total $457. That should give you guys a rough idea of how much it costs to do.
  22. damn, maybe you can hook us up with parts anyways i've already bought everything and car is at the mechanics being worked on right now. i'll let everyone know how much its gonna cost.
  23. thanks Nismodified. damn, the number is slightly different to the one i bought. i sure hope it fits as i'm bringing it in for the mechanic to do tomorrow morning.
  24. ok guys i have bought the timing belt for $102 from nissan. the alternator belt is about 32 and the power steering about 35 and the ac about 17. im going cheap and getting the aftermarket ones for those. ac belt - 4PK910 ALT - 4PK850 PWR ST - 3PK845 repco and stuff seem to only have the one 5mm longer eg 4PK915 etc. not sure if that will fit. but they can order it in.
