  1. Yep, we've got the stuff here to do it via laptop. I have both the excell software, which is useless without the dongle and japanese windows, plus we have datalogit.
  2. Hmmm.....can train the hound when I put my mind to it! Bloody hurts though. Good job fatty.
  3. At the moment..........
  4. Nah, the purple one you are thinking of Mikey is a customer's car. Snap it up guys!
  5. We do Lumpy-Rom. Perth's original and proven ECU remap. (Lee Sampson's 180SX, for example 477.7hp@wheels last weekend, on one of my ecu's)
  6. It's not that I aren't keen, it's more that everyone dreams of the mighty 25/30 rb and it never ends up happening. To do it right costs more than any other RB25 or 30 build. The end user, ie the one paying the bill needs to weigh upi the costs and decide if it's what they want. As Steve says, you can get low cost RB rods these days, and there are people stocking pistons specifically for this purpose now, so at least that kind of custom expense is eliminated.
  7. Ah, there's a bit more to it. Engine must be stock. Must run factory air box, cooler and exhaust size, although the latter can be aftermarket, just the same size as oem. No cat etc but it must have some sort of muffler. The management can be changed but only at the main connector. Everything must be as originally homologated - so the evidence first presented by the first guy to ever race a GTR at that level is the spec of the car you must run. In the case of a 32, the rules even state what size oil cooler is permitted. With the 32, there are a couple of turbo choices too, but no bigger than Nismo 580's or 581's off the top of my head. As you can imagine, it's damn hard to get power out of them that way. Our one makes 430hp at the wheels. Remember that sheer power isnt the goal, as the engine has to run flat out for several long days of competition. The only freedoms in the class are saftey related. Brakes, cage etc. You can only strip the interior out if the cage is in the way. Ours runs Massive AP 6's front and 4's rear, that clear the inside of the homologation limited 17x8 inch wheel by no more than a business card. The cage is a full integrated welded in jobbie with bars everywhere.
  8. I havent seen the footage yet, but I have a fair idea it was the car we built/prep. Was it car 828 - Doug Walker/David Watkin? White 32 with Jet-tech, AD Engineering and Hyperdrive Signage on it? Shit - I hope not.
  9. We've got a 32 actuator.
  10. The Hyperdrive 180SX that competed at Combat has been tickled and put-down 477.7hp at the treads this morning. Shame we didnt get time to do that before combat as I am sure it would have slipped into the 10's for sure. It was a mission and a half getting the RB25 box in there - didnt even know if that was going to work out until the night before! The point I am getting to is that in terms of 'RESPECT' here comes another Jap Rice Rocket that can idle in traffic and throw a 10sec 1/4 down. They will start learning there's more to life than pushrods!
  11. I've gone to 280 on an RB20 with nothing more than the usual cooler/fuel pump/late rb25 turbo/15psi and LUMPYROM on 3 cars now. There's more there to have, but realistically, a set of adjustable cam sprockets and bigger injectors need to go in for longer term reliability and more power.
  12. Cool. Must be pretty broad in the power curve then. Those 33's are heavy!
  13. Having recently gone through the process of buying a new car, the biggest problem with BMW here in Perth, is that there is only 1 dealer you can visit.
  14. Jeeze Ken U old smoothie! ..........I never get to meet anyone
  15. None that I am aware of - except maybe Speedworks/Koyama combination, but you could convert to full-house stand alone management for what that would cost.
  16. How about some big pistons and an LD28 crank
  17. Dont know if ya noticed, but the power is rapidly dropping off. I dont see the point in winding it out just for the hell of it. Not as though it was magically going to take off again!
  18. Yeah, that's well tough in a 33gts. How much grunt's he got? Nice to see the 11.00 rule in force again - shame it didnt apply to the 'pro' cars or the bikes as well!
  19. Yes, it's the Cefiro. It doesnt have a BOV.
  20. gtrken is Hyperdrive, as am I, so which of the white signwritten cars do you need info about their BOV's?
  21. Lots has happened since then, but I'd say it was probably the ability of the internal wastegate to cope with the target horsepower and keep backpressure under control. That's generally one of my biggest gripes! I have a habit of speaking my mind which often gets misconstrued. The turbo itself is good. We tune a lot of the XR6T stuff now and they make some serious mumbo, but the situation is much different with the Ford clanger not revving anywhere near as high for starters. I think that given the opportunity to add a gate so easily, you'd be mad not to take advantage of it. Regardless, it all sounds good, and I look forward to seeing how it all pans out. Keep us posted, and maybe even post a dyno graph up here when you get a chance.
  22. I just typed a reply to this but for some reason it went awol. I dont remember your enquiry, so forgive me and I certainly doubt I would have said I dont want to tune people's cars, unless it's got a dog onboard, which for that we need to call the Ranger from the Pound! Perhaps we just couldnt do it in your required time frame? You guys may or may not be surprised at the amount of enquiries we get. No joke. People ring up mid arvo and want to book their car in for a tune that day! They get pissed off when we say we cant do it. It's a little bit unrealistic to expect that a business would be standing around with nothing to do or work scheduled just incase Mr Anonymous wants a dyno....... We also have to be fair to those who have booked in and are waiting for their slot. We are very busy these days and it is just getting busier and busier. Minor service work is still within the week, but tuning work is at least a week and out to 2 in some cases. Custom work we are booked out for a couple of weeks and large projects we would be in the region of 6-8 weeks booked ahead, assuming that the phone stops ringing and nobody walks in the front doors! It is not like this just at the moment. It is all the time. Anyway, I'd be happy to tune your car sl33kgts, so if you want to give us a call to book it in, please do so. If I cant speak to you personally, Ken can more than handle the booking. Happy Days!
  23. it's a problem with either the fuel cut/decel settings most likely because the TPS cal is wrong or there is a step in the map somewhere.
  24. Listen here Parkerbitch, I only know of a couple of cars that have back to backed our dyno against the hub machine and the results were drastically different. Given the 'shoot-out' method of measurement that we follow, the losses present were not related to wheelspin or inconsistent tie-on procedure in the comparison cases. 2-300hp isnt reasonable power, unless you have a WRX. People often compare the consistency of results with the Shoot-out accredited machines, because it is a valid comparision, and a proven one at that, but the debate of a chassis dyno versus a hub mount box of oil is a little bit semantic. Remember power to the hubs isnt power at the treads! I do not know if the hub dyno operators share a code of practice and uniform method of operation to guarantee consistancy with other machines of the same make, but trying to compare one to the other is the same as comparing either of them to engine dyno's. The chassis dyno is one of the most relevent measures of power delivery to the ground as it takes into account all factors effecting what makes the car move. Ignoring politics etc, either device is a capable tuning weapon, each with benefits for and against and not really what this thread was for.
