wow great work there i will go out and buy this mag this month have a peek your car is great by the way and congrats again -
I think i must win in the smallest first car award here I drove a Rover Mini Cooper 1.3i 1993 model....with a 1.3 Litre 4 Cyl engine Advantages were, really light weight so it feels fast and went well and its very cheap to run with fuel etc. and looks pretty good if you get a good one Disadvantages were, its not everyones piece of cake. but i think if you wanted a cheap first car that was pretty good what Krush said is a good idea. But also think of other options, maybe an older model Civic or something along those lines (cheap to run and cheap to buy) Good luck with your decision

Edit ** Really an addition to the 4x4 Section ** Soccer Mums......in big 4x4's or wagons i was on the road the other day and had a big 4x4 driven by a mum with all her kids in the back....reving her X5 to the max. I was in shock that a mum would do that with all her kids in the car.... And a few months ago i was on springvale road and had another soccor mum in a 4x4 whiz past me doing at least 100 in a 70 zone. You gota watch out for them... -
the way everyone should get there P's so they can actually learn to drive is through driving lessons as Bass Junky said They help you a lot and you learn to respect the road more and the drivers around you more. My advice is to have some manual driving lessons and if you cant afford many just have at least two to get you started. I went through RACV for my driving lessons and at the end of it you get a free pair of sticky red P's good luck with it all

Hey Chris Rogers i may be going down that path later on, next year sometime thanks for that advice i will keep it in mind I will probably go for the optima yellow top D34 and im unsure on the 'cap' issue as there are mixed opinions on this thread...

pretty much what he said.... my first car was a good ol' classic Mini Cooper (not to powerful but had some grunt for the size) It was a simple 1275cc 1.3liter 4 cyl engine and it was a great car to learn in and was very cheap to run (20 - 26 bucks to fill up and went around 250km's) I did around 6,000km's in it and have seen my fair share of idiots on the road. Just as everyone else says with regarding cops etc. as long as you dont drive like an idiot and speed etc. all the time i dont see any reason for them to pull you over. I'm going for a skyline soon as well...just gota finish school (year 12) and then i will be taking my time in getting one (dont rush as thats the worst mistake you can make, you will most likley end up with a lemon that way) If you do go for a skyline as a first car, make sure you get it checked out by the RACV when you find a good one you like and are happy with and also read this helpful guide for buying a skyline on this forum (link below) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=35129 Hope this helps in some way

Hey everyone, well im soon to be the owner of a 1994 Skyline R33 GTS and i was wondering if i needed to change the stock battery that comes with this car. The system: 1 x Pioneer DEH-P8650MP (head unit) 1 x Alpine SWX-1242D Type X 12 (sub) 1 x Kicker KX350.4 350w 4 ch (speaker amp) 2 x Focal K2 Power 165 KP 6.5" (front splits and rear) 1 x Alpine MRD-M605 600W Mono Amp (sub amp) Do i need a new battery from the stock one? or will the stock battery do just fine and run this system with the car off for around 2+ hours and a bit with the car off? If i need a new battery, what would you suggest? Thanks for the help

yeh i cant see the pictures either please re-post them

i would love to see some pictures of your setup please post them after you take them

i heard the fuel companies took off the discount to kill off all the independant/local fuel companies??? (dont know if thats true) So, you would damage an R33 GTS N/A if you ran it on regular unleaded?? If 98 RON Premium is a must, is there any fuel saver options for this car? I'm not fussed with performance loss.
-
Is this true?? Do an N/A R32 or R33 use less or the same amount of fuel than a Turbo R32/R33?? I have seen fuel consumption but that is only of turbos thanks
-
hey were are allblitz located?? do you recomend them as a good dealer? thanks
-
since the thread is alive again has anyone heard of "Power RD Car Sales" in dandenong?? they have some very well priced R33's and some with low km's etc. on them there is one with 31,000km's on it *shock* i have never seen a skyline with that low km's i was wondering if they are really dodgy or actually half-decent?? Thanks for the help

Hey The final question i have about the car is just about the difference in fuel consumption between the R33 Turbo and R33 Non-Turbo im not a car engine buff as u may have noticed but im just curious How many liters per 100km is a R33 Turbo? How many liters per 100km is a R33 Non-Turbo? i have read many many different responses to this in the search but if they are both running BP Ultimate Ron 98 or something similar my real worry about the turbo is, how much more money are they to run in the long run with maintenance (talking 5 + years) and also do they drink a bit more in fuel department?? i know there are other threads about it but i just want to make 100% sure before i jump into buying either one thanks for all the help
