I am currently in the process of getting my BC Coilovers engineered on my R34 GTT to get rid of a defect sticker. I have been asked to get a Suspension shop to write an official statement saying that my car's suspension has not been reduced by more than one third of that specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Since I have already removed the original suspension - does anyone know how to calculate this? Is there some factory measurements I can use to compare? Thanks

I have a Escort Passport 8500, gives me OK warning for the poliscan lasers, but I drove past the fixed camera on the freeway, no warning at all. I was expecting at least a little bit of pickup from bouncing on cars etc. Maybe it wasn't turned on?

You need to find a new love! Your car is like a long term girlfriend - once they are rear-ended by someone else, the relationship will never be the same again no matter how much you try and patch things up! -

Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for the info guys, huge help. Just inquiried re: purchasing stock front castor rods and rear upper arms - the rear upper arms are to replace my aftermarket camber arms correct? -

Hi mate, I am looking for stock front castor rods and stock rear upper arms (or rear camber arms whatever they are called). Let me know if you can help. -
Stock R34 Suspension Part Names

Lol thanks man. Do you know what I need to search for, for example on Ebay, to find the factory bits for these? Most searches for "R34 Factory camber arms" or "castor rods" only yield after-market parts, which means they may have different names for the factory version. Also, I will buy your camber arms if they are stock. -
Stock R34 Suspension Part Names
Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ok guys I've taken a couple of photos of the only non-stock items I could see on my suspension to help figure out what stock parts I need. This pic is the rear suspension, I will assume that this is the camber arm or trailing arm? The second pic is from the front suspension. I will assume this is the castor rod? -
Stock R34 Suspension Part Names

Dark tint got the yellow sticker, pits then added 2 pages to that. Thanks for the link, he had sold the arms but I'll keep an eye out on these forums. I noticed his post mentioned tie rods and camber arms - they are separate to control/trailing arms and castor rods, or perhaps they are all one unit? This is what I am most confused about. -
Hi guys, I am pretty clueless when it comes to suspension - I have a R34 GTT with aftermarket coilovers, trailing arms and castor rods. I have a yellow sticker and plan to return everything to stock. I have a set of stock springs and shocks to replace coilovers, no problem. On my yellow sticker notes it says it mentions "Trailing Arms" and "Castor Rods". I need to find on ebay or whatever, the original part names for these, however they seem to be all called different things such as control arms, etc etc. I'd appreciate it if someone could quickly confirm what part names I need to look for when searching for the stock Nissan parts, and if there are multiple parts per wheel, i.e. are there 2 control arms per wheel? Thanks so so much.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows where in Perth you can take your R34 coupe and get some child restraint anchor points installed? Trying to get over the pits and realised that no anchor points were installed at all in my R34, I pulled out the rear shelf and nothing! Appreciate any reply.

A couple of days ago I spotted a white R34 GTT with Nismo shopping-trolley spoiler near intersection overpass of Albany Hwy and Leach.... with a GTR badge on the back. *sigh* -

Dude, headlights still available? -
Was it a simple modification permit form or full engineering check?

Hey Steve, thanks for the advice. I live in Cloverdale now so not that far anymore. I would appreciate someone having a quick look and at least giving me some advice. Perhaps we can tee up a later afternoon I could pop over one day? Perhaps PM me.

Replacing Xenon Hid Globes For Compliance
Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in General Maintenance
Sure mate I will. It seems most R34's have the Xenon HID's removed at compliance with regular H1's, which people then add an aftermarket HID kit to. But having the original Xenon HID's is a different kettle of fish I think. Perhaps you had your original Xenon's removed? -
Replacing Xenon Hid Globes For Compliance
Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in General Maintenance
Does anyone know if I simply find a pair of non-xenon lights, it will be simple swap with no hassles? -
Hey mate, Nope not only thing I was defected for, a lot of other stuff. I don't think my headlights were changed at compliance, so I'm chasing some sort of way to get over the pits and go back to the Xenon HID's after.
-
Hey guys, looking for someone to help me re: xenon headlights for compliance. Either someone willing to swap legal R34 headlights for a couple of weeks, or help me temporarily change Xenon HID'd to legal H1's without mutilating anything so I can simply go back to Xenon after. Willing to pay cash or booze for any assistance.

Here's some pics. Can't seem to see any "balasts" on top or anything (from what it looks like in Google pics). -
Replacing Xenon Hid Globes For Compliance
Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in General Maintenance
I'm starting to think perhaps it's not a simple plug and play, there are numerous threads discussing complicated aspects of removing the Xenon HID's to fit regular H1's including talks of soldering, etc. I guess I'll just go in and have a look. Appreciate if anyone who has done this themselves could recommend best course of action. -
Replacing Xenon Hid Globes For Compliance
Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in General Maintenance
Thanks for the info xntrq and Yin_Sun. I would have to weigh up the costs and effort of fighting to keep the HID's vs replace them for the pits and put them straight back in. I think the latter would be easier. -
Replacing Xenon Hid Globes For Compliance
Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in General Maintenance
Nope, they are supposed to be replaced at compliance, just went through pits and they were illegal - have to be self adjustable with washers to be legal. What have been done in the past? Is it simply a case of changing globes?
