Hey guys, OK so I got under and pulled out the indicator replay switch, and pulled it apart. Here are some images of what I found. You can clearly see some burnt bits on the solder points on the bottom, and on the metal hook/staple looking thing on the other side. My question is - is this the cause of the right indicator to screw up? Or is this the result of a short somewhere else which has caused the switch to burn? (Keep in mind I put a 20amp fuse in the fuse box) Reason I ask is, I don't want to keep on destroying new relay switches!

Hmmm yep good point. This obviously means taking the whole dash off. Hoping I didn't have to do that but it's all good.

Hey guys, I've done a search on this problem with similar posts but not quite the same symptoms so I thought I'd make a new one. I've had indicator problems for a few weeks, on and off, currently the left indicator works fine but the right doesn't. Here are some symptoms: Left indicator works fine, right doesn't Disconnected front and rear looms to lights to try and narrow it down to an earth somewhere with no luck Currently got a 20amp fuse to prevent fuse from blowing, makes high pitched noise when using right indicator Got under the dash to find the relay switch, not sure what I was looking for but I following the clicking to a black box and it was really hot when using right indicator, located directly under steering wheel, above fuse box. The dash indicator light (for right only) also doesn't work Does this look like the flasher can is dodgey? Does it make sense that left works but right doesn't? If I rip it out, is it just a case of getting a new one, and where would you go to get one? Any comments would be highly appreciative.

I was being sarcastic. Never used it and probably never will.

Hey guys, I'm not paid by Nu-Finish™ or anything but I will say that Nu-Finish™ is absolutely sensational. I have only used Nu-Finish™ on my [R34 Skyline] once this year and it has an unbeatable shine that just can't be beat. Not sure if you guys know this but Nu-Finish™ rated #1 by leading consumer testing magazines for protection, durability, gloss improvement and best retail value. Highly recommended, if you want a free sample just PM me.

Will This Fit My R34Gtt?
Everlong-S13 replied to rhino34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
+1 on 265/35/18 on rear, just need guards rolled no problem. 245's on front. -
Hey guys, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I posted a thread a while ago explaining how I flaked off some paint from my R34 GTT's roof while using a pressure cleaner - learnt my lesson, never do that again. Anyway I'd like to quick advice how to complete a quick temporary touch up job with this while I save up for a proper roof respray. I had a go a few weeks ago and it looks quite crappy - I gave it a sand a masked as close to the outline of the flakes, the result is a slightly mis-coloured square of paint that's got a defined "edge" as if it was raised. I'm going to sand this away and try again. Have a look at the following pics to see what it looked like before. Pic one. Pic two. I have a general idea on the process, apply several coats of primer (15mins between) - then the colour matched paint, then clear coat. My question is how to mask this up so I don't get such a defined "edge" and so it blends in a bit better. The color coded paint I bought (from the colour code on firewall) is slightly different from actual color due to being 12 years old. Perhaps I should get a small batch of paint mixed up from a paint shop?

Does not blow the fuse in either indicator direction (indicator neither works), neither with hazard light button disconnected. However its blows the fuse when hazard light button is pressed.
-
Hey guys, I've been trying to eliminate the source of the problem. Currently, the indicators neither work nor blow the hazard light fuse. However turning on the emergency light button does blow the fuse. I've ripped out the center console and looked for faulty wires with no luck. I've disconnected the hazard light button with no difference. Currently trying to disconnect the indicator globes with no luck and the R34 headlights are IMPOSSIBLE to remove.

Ahh nice one. I'll try that and see if it narrows it down. Thanks!

Hey guys, any suggestions will be appreciated at auto electrics aren't my thing. Driving around today I notice my indicators stopped working (no click, no dash etc). Pulled in, checked fuse was blown. Bought a new 10amp fuse and it blew straight away. Tried 20 amp, same deal. So obviously there's an earth somewhere. Does anyone know where the best / logical place is to start looking without having to dismantle my entire car? Thanks in advance. Brett

Accidentally Took Off Some Paint Using Pressure Cleaner.
Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in General Maintenance
Lol I've seen people put JDM stickers on worse places, that would have been fine. -
Cheers guys. Yep I'll definitely got for a respray but I won't be able to fund it for a little while so I'll try a temporary fix for now.

Accidentally Took Off Some Paint Using Pressure Cleaner.

Thankyou cannabiscorpse! -
Hey guys as per this thread I've accidentally taken off some paint from my R34 GTT roof while pressure cleaning. I'd like to ask a couple of things: 1) Where to get touch up paint / colour match in Perth, my R34 is fridge white. 2) Eventually I'll need to get a roof respray, does anyone know a place in Perth where they can colour match + spray just the roof for a reasonable price. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Brett

Accidentally Took Off Some Paint Using Pressure Cleaner.
Everlong-S13 replied to Everlong-S13's topic in General Maintenance
Thanks for the fast reply. I'll go around getting quotes for a roof job, hopefully not too expensive. Regarding touch up paint - anyone know where to get it / match colour? Never needed to do this. -
Hey guys, I feel like shit right now, cleaning and prepping my car for the JDM cruise tomorrow, and I decided to use a small pressure cleaner to help get off some of the stubborn dirt. Didn't really realise how strong the pressure was before I took off 2 inches of paint off the roof of my R34 GTT (white). See pics. What is the best way to fix this without having to respray the whole car? PIC 1 PIC 2

Hey guys, I've had my white R34 GTT for over a year and I've only JUST noticed, that in certain low lighting, my boot lid is slightly darker than the rest of the car. I think it MAY be dirt in the paint however it would not make sense for that whole lid to be dirty and not the rest. So I have reason to believe the lid must have been replaced at some point. Assuming the white skyline colour is universal, should I give it a good cut+polish and see how it goes? Just thinking out aloud here really, not much point to this thread.

Knocking Noises, Help!
Everlong-S13 replied to skyln-r33!'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Get the wheel off and take a look! Obviously not as bad as mine but when I heard knocked in the wheel arch I took off the wheel and immediately saw my entire shock absorber had broken clean in half.
