  1. I went with RAC in the end, lucky the guy had some planks with him. The towie pulled the car up from the back instead as the exhaust was the lowest point.
  2. Thanks for clarifying the core thing, I was about to buy a new CPU. Just bought a GTX570 OC to play this game but it was still stuttering and crashing to desktop after 30mins etc. Just bought 12GB RAM pack and SSD drive to reinstall windows 7 tonight and start fresh, see if that works. Great game when it's working.
  3. I'm also worried about the type of tray truck they use damaging my lowered R34. Might have to call Gerrin to be safe.
  4. Thanks guys, I was trying to avoid calling em so they don't put 2 and 2 together but I'll just go ahead and do it anyway.
  5. Hey guys I've got RAC roadside and are such entitled to a small number (maybe once per year?) of towing. I've had car towed to my house before when it was broken down on the side of a road. I was curious to know if they would tow your car from your house to a workshop even when you know the car is already f*cked. Wondering if they only do this when your actually stranded on the side of a road somewhere and they would not generally do it otherwise. Otherwise I can just push my car down the road and then call em.
  6. I'm no pro but I recently ordered coilovers too and can confirm weapons post that the GTT uses the fork type for the rear while the 25GT uses the same as the R33 (not fork type for rear).
  7. Edit: OK I'm going to chase up a set of coilovers.
  8. Thanks for the reply Duncan. It was at the suspension place around a week before... so not sure about that one. Is it possible to just buy a couple of shocks while keeping the original springs etc? Anyone know what type of shocks I'll be looking for the GTT? Or do I need to buy the complete coilover unit?
  9. Hey guys, just got my R34 GTT back from a suspension place getting the rear upper arms replaced. This morning a heard an awful loud knocking noise from the front right wheel. Took the car home in the arvo, went over a speed bump and made the same noise. Anyway I crawl the car in and took off the front right wheel for closer inspection. It seems that the entire shock absorber shaft (or middle piston thing) has snapped completely off near the top of the shockie, and it's also a little bent at the top. Anyway, wondering if it's safe to drive slowly somewhere to get it sorted, and what kind of costing would a new shockie cost for an R34?
  10. Dear Mr silver stagea on newcastle street northbridge at 9pm. Sorry I didn't return your wave, I was too busy admiring your stag. Kthxbai.
  11. Just came back from Wilkinsons, expensive but they know their shit.
  12. I'll answer your question with a blunt answer - YES I do speed occasionally. No stupid speeds but yes I do from time to time. Flame me I don't care The fines for minor offences are expensive now and will continue to go up.
  13. Spotted yellow r34 /w black rims crn tonkin and leech 8am. nice.
  14. I'd have to query those who think they are actually illegal to use in WA. A bill was brought in to ban them, which generated a whole lot of media coverage which made people think they were going to be banned for sure. But I have not found any information that the bill was actually passed and all of the websites I can see related to radar detectors in WA (Wikipedia, Whirlpool, Detector shops etc) all state they are yet to be deemed illegal. I think I will go ahead and make my purchase unless someone can prove me wrong.
  15. My friend who has just become an officer told me he see's detectors around everyday and they don't get fined. But he doesn't know for sure.
  16. I'll have a deeper look and see if I can find anything.
  17. Hey man, would you recommend him for general servicing? I was going to get it services at a high-end place like C-red as the engine has a kind of rough sound to it (but still runs fine).
  18. Yep this was discussed around a year ago based from this article: http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/mp/8047121/end-of-road-for-radar-detectors/ However as far as I know it was never finalised and they are still legal. Jammers are illegal though. Can anyone confirm they have been pulled over with a detector and not fined?
  19. Hey guys, keen to get some feedback on this detector with the new cameras such as the van cameras etc that the cops have been using for the last year or so. (Assuming detectors are still legal vs jammers?) I've heard the 78Pro is probably one of the only ones worth using in WA, just curious to hear how effective they are with all these new cameras that have been releasing. Assuming they are all still using the same band frequency it should still be worth purchasing?
  20. Wait, he's got a Porsche? Dam, here's me talking him up as if he's some sort of honest average-income tradie and he drives a freaking Porsche?
  21. Yeah he mentioned you when he came out, apparently did you some sort of favour. I told him it obviously paid off because he's had a few calls from the forums.
  22. Haha I don't live in the valley anymore, there's not much crime going on in the sticks... this happened in Bentley (which makes a whole lot more sense).
  23. Hey guys, My R34 coupe was broken into a couple of days ago and they smashed the drivers side window. If you've ever had to deal with that you'd know the pillarless windows are an absolute B*TCH to replace. I called a few wreckers and the best price on just the window was $500. I don't do this often with businesses but when I'm really impressed I shout about them. I called Paul from Perth windscreens (he's in the consolidated workshops sticky thread) and not only did he source a new piece of window glass but he came around to my house and sorted the whole thing like it was new again. Price was competitive too - can't recommend him enough. Sorry for the shameless plug but like I said, I rarely shout about a business unless the service is top notch.
  24. Bentley No reply from the police so I guess it's gone. I'm going to take tomorrow off work to get my window sorted, anyone know where to get a new drivers side glass replacement in Perth? I doubt the major glass companies would have it.
