  1. Brett, that is awesome. Are you keeping it for when you get off your Ps? Only 7 months to go for me too!! Mxfly, that beast you have bought is truly beautiful. The reason I fell in love with Skylines in the first place.
  2. Hey Elvis I'll probably give you a call later re: half cut. I'm aiming to just get an R32 RB25DE (from factory) now, would make things a lot quicker and easier. Once again, thanks everyone for your replies. I will keep you updated!
  3. Because if I run an RB25DE ECU, I need to rip apart the dash and swap ALL the wiring over don't I? which will be a kent of a job to do! I'd rather get the loom adapted to the SII RB25DE and leave the R32 RB20DE ECU in.
  4. Thanks for the replies. At the moment, the plan is as follows: R33 RB25DE with VCT (as R32 RB25DEs without VCT are very rare) R32 RB20DET gearbox R32 RB20DET tailshaft R32 RB20DE loom adapted to suit RB25DE If necessary, VCT function on a switch Is this feasible?
  5. Sorry guys, I should have been more detailed. Car previously had an RB20DE in it with manual gearbox. Car now has no engine or box. It still retains the loom. I'm going to hunt around the traps and see if I can find a Series 1 RB25DE without VVL, as I don't really want the associated wiring headache of the VVL function.
  6. Hi guys, What is involved in putting an RB25DE into an R32 GTS? I know I'm going to need: Engine Gearbox ECU Loom Anything else? Pete
  7. I've been driving on my P's in NSW for the 2.5 years now. Every car I've had (including a turbo one for a very brief period of time) has had engine modifications. I've had a Onevia, a Silvia, and my current car is a E30 BMW. I've never even had the bonnet popped, and believe me, the Onevia was incredibly ghetto for a period of time. Just do it.
  8. I keep spotting this gunmental R32 GT-R with (I think) Yashio Factory aftermarket LED style tail lights. I know he lives in Manly, and I think the number plate ends in '32R' or something. If you are on here mate, your type of GTR is the reason I fell in love in the first place. Whenever I see it I get a boner, in six months time or so I hope to have my own!
  9. Considering Bob Carr is now a $500,000 non-executive 'consultant' to the Macquarie Board...
  10. I don't know what I do wrong? I've owned two S13s, and I currently own a modified E30 323i... Yet I never seem to get pulled over. With the exception of RBTs (for which I often get waved through), I have only ever been pulled over once in my old Onevia. It was low, had an aftermarket bodykit, very loud exhaust, no back seats etc. Did I mention I'm a P-plater? The car could easily have been turbo but I've never been asked to pop the bonnet. It was about 1am in the morning and I got pulled over a couple of streets away from my house. The officers were polite to me, checked my car wasn't stolen (awesome, I wish they would do that more often), breath tested me, and then sent me on my way. The only real negative experience I have had with HWP was when I was returning from the Central Coast the other day. I had no P-plates on as they always blow off when you are on the freeway. I get one street away from my house, and get pulled into an RBT. The HWP officer was a bit rude, I explained why I didn't have P-plates, he didn't say anything, took my licence and came back with the fine. But fair enough, he was right to book me. Even my mates in the force say that most normal police hate HWP...
  11. I've test driven both. In short, the Autech S15 is a superior car, but I couldn't justify paying the cost of a Spec R for a naturally aspirated variant. The Skyline is a physically bigger car. Yes, I know it is obvious, but it becomes apparent when you drive it. For what its worth, I've owned an S13 Onevia with an S14 SR20DE swap, and also a S13 Silvia Ks CA18DET, so I'm used to cars in the power range of an Autech or Skyline.
  12. Yeah I scored with this one though, it would seem no-one wants low-mileage S13s - 199000Y FOB! R32 GT-Rs on the other hand...
  13. I have read every single post in this thread over the last hour or so. Only one word: amazing. I will definitely keep reading.
  14. It does happen. I recently imported a genuine 70,000km 1988 S13 Silvia through Iron Chef Imports. The car was so clean it should be in a museum. Not one modification at all. Evidently a one-owner car since new (and an elderly owner too). Further, a couple of dealership stickers in Japanese confirmed the mileage travelled.
  15. I went and test drove an S15 out there, it was very clean, and appearance-wise the rest of the cars in the warehouse were too. He also said I was welcome to bring anyone along and inspect the car on the hoist, and do compression tests etc. Not many dealerships let you do that!
  16. The time has come for me to sell my pride and joy, and to move on to other things. 1992 Nissan Silvia Qs Engine/Driveline Recent S14 SR20DE engine conversion S13 ECU and loom S13 manual gearbox A'pexi pod filter 2.5" cat-back cannon exhaust Exterior 180SX front conversion (Onevia) Full respray in jet black Unique front lip (one of a kind) Nismo side skirts (rare) Nismo rear pods (ultra-rare) Spoiler removed and holes welded Personalised black number plates to match the paint scheme Interior 180SX Type-X seats Digital climate control Custom 180SX 'lazy-eye' headlight switch Pioneer head unit w/iPod direct control + Pioneer speakers Momo Corse steering wheel Aftermarket pedals Nismo shift knob Exedy Sports Organic HD clutch Strut braces front and rear Wheels/brakes 17x8" +35 offset JWT lightweight racing rims (made in Japan) DBA slotted rotors Lucas brake pads Pirelli tyres (front) and near new Nankang tyres (rear) Other extras: Quality 3 point alarm + immobiliser S14 in-cabin VTC switch Long registration until September 2008 140,000kms on chassis Estimated 80-100,000kms on engine (came from an S14 with automatic transmission) History I purchased this car as an almost dead-stock Silvia in March 2006 from a SilviaNSW.com/NS.com member with 118000kms on the clock. It was previously a SEVS import, not a 15 year-old rule shitbox. I had saved since I was 13 to purchase the car. Since then, I have spent thousands (more than I spent on the purchase price of the car) modifying this car to make it one of the cleanest and best-looking non-turbo examples around. Nearly every cent of my wages went towards this car. All work was done professionally as well. Nearly all receipts have been kept for parts purchased or work carried out. The paint work was done at RS Performance in Moorebank, the mechanical work was done at Safer Steering in Crows Nest, and the alarm installation done at MetroSound in Artarmon. The only major thing I did myself was the Onevia swap, with the help of SilviaNSW.com member Arkhaeon. During my ownership, I have treated the car very well. Unfortunately, a month or so ago, the oil filter fell off whilst driving at 60km/h, draining the oil and doing a fair bit of engine damage. This was due to my mechanic thinking that the S14/S15 oil filter was the same as the S13 one! Thus I opted to go for an S14 SR20DE transplant. The S14 SR20DE has more power and the Valve Timing Control function (VTC, NVCS, or VCT depending on who you ask...). There are a few forum members running these non-turbo engines, and one particular member who is running 130rwkW from an S14 SR20DE with fairly minimal mods. As a P-plater car, this would have to be one of the quickest and best-looking options available. Condition notes NO accident history. I have thoroughly inspected the car during the Onevia conversion, there are no signs of bent chassis rails or a mangled radiator support, and the panel beaters who did the respray agreed this was one of the cleanest and straightest S13s they had seen. The respray was only done in July so the paint is still in excellent condition. However, there are a few scratches from road debris and so forth. Originally I had the car painted with a Vertex rear bar, but I decided that it didn't suit the lines of the Nismo side skirts. So I recently opted to get the factory rear bar repainted. When at the painters, someone knocked it off the rack as the paint was drying, so it has a few drips. However, I didn't have the time to get it repainted. I can organise for the buyer to have it resprayed very cheaply there. The drips are barely noticeable unless you are close. The new engine was taken from an S14 SR20DE and installed professionally. I've retained the S13 manual gearbox. I have decided to move away from the modifying scene for a while, and buy a more stock car. So I may be interested in a swap for a non-turbo car. Contact details If you are serious about purchasing the vehicle and would like to arrange an inspection, you can contact me (Pete) on 0409 000 056. If I don't answer, send me an SMS as I'm most likely at work. I do not like time-wasters or tyre-kickers. I am located in Cremorne (Sydney). Price: $10,500 Lowballers/teenage dreamers will be ignored. Try finding a non-turbo S13 this clean and tastefully modified. Please note that this picture shows the old Vertex rear bar - car currently has ultra-rare (and sexy) Nismo rear pods. More pictures to come next week.
  17. Hi guys, I'm in the market for either an R32 Skyline (preferably with RB25DE) or R34 Skyline. Must be manual. Must be non-turbo. Price limit is $17000. Let me know what you have. Will travel interstate if the car is what I'm looking for. -Pete
  18. Yeh I already checked 'em out - don't have any of what I'm looking for.
  19. A NewTattoo, you have PM! Victor mate, that one kinda interests me...except it's in Wollongong. I can't make it down there this week so it will probably be 'sold to the dealer' by then.
  20. Surely someone has to have one? <_<
  21. Yeh. They are pretty rare though - there is one on eBay which is unfortunately manual. I'd buy it in an instant, but the folks have cracked down on anything which is manual (they think I will speed more than I do already). Manual time is green P's time.
  22. *Bump* Preferably Auto!
  23. Hey guys, I have a thread in the wanted to buy section about looking for an auto non-turbo Skyline. Now it hasn't generated much interest except from people out of NSW (which I don't want). Surely there are a few non-turbo auto beasts out there for sale? (It needs to be legal for a P-plater!) I'd prefer an R32, but R33 would be okay too. Four-door or coupe is fine. Also, don't tell me to look on carsales, ebay, the paper, or in the for sale forum - I already check them all daily. Cheers.
  24. Hey guys. Got my P's today! Yeew! Anyways, thanks for the suggestions, but I'm no closer to figuring this out I'm afraid hahaha...
